First off, compared to most, IT'S HEAVY!, but then the last thing you want is shudder, right? this is nearly eliminated by it's weight, and using the pan/tilt on easy. It's well built and easy to set up (good job because there are no instructions!. The tighteners on the legs have a stop point so over tightening is not possible, and the head can be leveled with a hand screw, reducing the need to level it with the legs, a spirit level is provided in the head. The two handles can be adjusted, and the fact there are two is handy!(no pun intended. There is a quick release so you can detach the camera pretty quick should you need. There is a halfway leg brace that can be use to hang or place a LITTLE extra weight for added stability (not more than a kilo I'd say on the safe side!).All this is well and good, BUT..The so called 'Pro fluid head' is in my opinion a misnomer and to me is adjustable friction of two surfaces, I'll be damned if it's actually fluid in there! Even on the easiest setting, it's still quite stiff, with a mere hint of jerk and a whiff of 'return' as you stop panning. After 'training' my arms and body can 'soak up' this effect, so get your body involved in the panning etc, keep arms loose, move your trunk first and let your arms cushion the movement, also allow the weight of your arms to tilt it from a stopped position, and try to avoid diagonal moves, this is difficult to get good results without 'step effect'.As I'm writing this my 11 year old is measuring the angle of tilt, he tells me it's 60 degrees up and 90 straight down.I am happy with this tripod because it feels good quality wise, sturdy, with nice design features others of this price don't have. I DO recommend this at this price because i guess for what I'm going to use it for it will work just fine, better than any velbon i've tried anyway! My tip, if you want 'PRO' then pay handsomely and try before you buy!Lastly, shame the camera (iddy biddy digi Panasonic)doesn't come with steroids for tripod purposes, because it looks lost on top of this mammajamma of a tripod!SELLERS BEWARE! i'm easy going and can adapt to the head foibles, but some will demand a refund if they expect this to flow smoother than Jane Torville's leg! Fluid? erm....kinda NO! but i like it none the less, I'm keeping it!

Ordered from Nannotec - 10* service! 2 day delivery - they even told me the time slot within an hour it was to be delivered!Got the parcel - packaging was great and very secure.Everything was present in the box, which was...-The tripod legs-Fluid Head (In own box w/ Polystyrene casing)-Two pan handles - for left and right use, or both at the same time! (Recommended - use both at once, more control)-Two metal, adjustable to fit any camera, quick release plates.-Padded case with shoulder strap and carry handles.-No instructions! (You don't need any - very easy!)Once the tripod was assembled by screwing on the fluid head and the two pan handles, I then attached my Sony A1e camcorder, and got instant AMAZING results! The smooth motion worked a treat! It has a really solid base which eliminates any wobble or jerking when you pan/tilt the camera, and you really can feel the smoothness of the fluid head. You get a smooth start to the pan, a steady pace through the pan its self, then it comes to a gradual halt when you want it to!The tripod its self it quite weighty, which is GREAT if you don't intend to move it around too much. But if you do feel like taking it around with you, you get a great, quality padded case with handles and body strap to lug it around with you. The tripod fits in the bag with the head and both pan handles attached. On the head, you can adjust the friction and lock the pan and tilt. I have found that the left/right tilt is fairly stiff, and is left with no friction being applied on the screw. In all, FANTASTIC for the price, I don't see how any other more expensive tripods can beat this one! Its all you need for the pro-somer! 10/10 to product, 10/10 to Nannotec!

I am a semi professional videomaker and struggled for ages with using ordinary still camera 'quick release' mounts on tripods also designed for still cameras. No matter what I tried, I always suffered from wobbliness which accurred every time I so much as touched the tripod arm during a shoot. This, plus the albeit slighty jerkiness when panning with a non fluid head kept annoying me greatly. More than that - the quality of my work was suffering. On one recent shoot, I can be heard on the recorded audio muttering to myself "I will get a decent tripod if it kills me!" Well, now I've got one! As I am not rich and don't work for mega-bucks I had always thought that a really professional fluid filled head and decent camera mounting shoe etc were always going to be beyond my reach. The nearest affordable one being well over £300. This tripod is brilliant. Its so sturdy it feels like you could swing on it and it wouldn't wobble. The quick release mounting shoe (of which there were two - 1 spare) is professional quality and really locks the camera rigidly. The fluid filled head does what it's supposed to and allows really steady pan and tilt. This thing is heavy - like all pro tripods - and although I am not superman, I appreciate this as providing additional support and prevention of the dreaded wobble! I bought this tripod together with the dolly and the combination are fantastic. I would urge anyone who wants their video work to look at all professional to get this rig. The price and build are unbelievable and I can't see anyone being disappointed - except perhaps for a rich TV type camera operator who has been spoiled by one made from titanium.

Let me start by saying that I am a video wanabee although I have dabbled with the "art" for over 25 years.I had just bought my first HD camcorder - a Panasonic HDC-SD60 - with the intention of making an "epic" on my home town and felt that a new tripod, one with a fluid head, would be in order to complement it.Reading all the AMAZON reviews on tripods and cross checking with other sites and reviews - as one does - I placed my order through AMAZON (cheapest by a mile - sorry kilometre) and a couple of days later a large and heavy parcel arrived on my door. Now, the reviews remarked on the heavey duty feel and size of this tripod, but it does not sink in until you inspect the beast in the flesh how well built it is.You could moor a battleship from it!It is big and heavy compared to others in this price range, and it is also well built with solid castings throughout and to me looks fit for the job.Although there are no instructions the tripod setup is relatively simple. The camera plates, of which there are two, are twice the size as on my present old tripod. My new Panasonic HD camera looks tiny when mounted on the KONIG but what does that matter when the results are so good.A friend that has a video company, bought a similar tripod several years ago for nearly £400 and he was well impressed with my KONIG (no smut intended). The only thing I miss on this tripod is a rising centre column for fine adjustments, which I knew it did not have before I made my purchase. To sum up. A great bit of kit well worth 5 stars. Good value and build quality for the serious amateur/semi-pro video maker. It also comes with a free strong carrying bag.

First of all a big round of applause to NetGadgets for the phenomenal service.I ordered it after midnight. I got an email confirming the order was received at 2am. It was processed in the morning and dispatched at 3.20pm the same day. I received it just after 11am the next day. A Next Day courier service and yet there was no charge for shipping?!?!?!Through experience I can compare this to a Velbon 6000 and a Manfrotto 501/503 combo. The tripod itself is of very high quality, well engineered and the fluid head has a great action. If you are on a budget you will not be disappointed with this. Ignore the Velbon DV series and go for this if your budget is that tight you are looking at a Velbon!Yesthe Konig is smaller in height and bulk but I reckon its an ideal size/performance ratio for weddings etc. The 2 handles, 2 plates and carrycase are bonuses! For amateurs & prosumers I give this 5 stars, for the pros who know you get what you pay for I give it 4.5.The case is very roomy (unlike 501/503) and there is no plastic bits to break (unlike 501/503).Its not perfect, the weak point is the mid-spreader and I want to try with a Manfrotto ground spreader added to see how it is. It was slipping and splaying a bit on my laminate! The fastening screw for the release plate would usually be on the right of the camera when in use. This gets in the way of the contour of my FX1 so when tightening it you could scratch the camera. Also when tightening, the camera plate rises on the right so even though the spirit bubble is level the camera could be off.Thats my niggles but look at the cost! You just cant grumble at this!

Placed order at 8 o'clock on Monday evening. Received confirmation of payment and dispatch at 10:45 Tuesday morning. Delivered in good condition to my home address at 12:55 Thursday. That is an excellent delivery time to the Isle of Man. First class service from Netgadgets. What more can you ask?And the Tripod - well, opening the box - no instructions? - no problem. Assembly and set up could not be simpler. Have they sent me the right tripod? Well the order said HQ, this says Konig. Ah! I see. Same thing, different label. There's two boxes, one with the tilt/pan head and one with the tripod. I just fit the two bits together. Two quick release adapter plates for rapid swapping of cameras.Check out the quality of the materials., all very robust looking. Extending the legs. Very smooth, a single turn of the knobs, locks, rock solid. Two pan handles supplied for left or right hand operation. Ball and socket adjustment of the head so you can get true horizontal pans with the aid of the multi-axis bubble level. The head itself has finger tight locking levers for the handle and adapter plate and a larger one for the tilt, all of which, when locked can, be put tidily out of the way. I also find there's a handy spring loaded hook on one of the tripod legs which I assume is to hang extra ballast bags for added stability. That's what I will use it for, anyway!I also went for the

Where to start? Firstly with the company. They deserve 10 stars. I had ordered a different tripod (Konig) but one of their staff, a delightful young lady called Nicola, rang me the next day to say they had run out of stock and so they substituted this higher value product instead.Yes we all like something for nothing but in the current financial climate it was a refreshing and well received gesture from a company that deserves to thrive. It arrived within 24 hours. That really is what I call service. Even the invoice had a "smiley" face on it. My only advice to this Nicola is if you are considering becoming an artist - don't give up the day job !!As for the unit itself? It is very well constructed and takes my Canon XL H1 (3.4 kgs) with ease, even when the legs are fully extended. Both the pan and tilt are smooth and can be varied in damping as necessary. In it's lightest mode they will turn very smoothly with the pressure of just one finger. I did read one criticism somewhere to the effect that it was difficult to turn. If you fit a "Box Brownie" to it they maybe correct - this unit will take a hefty HD camcorder or a Canon 550D with telephoto lens in it's stride.Excellent product only eclipsed by an even more excellent supplier.

There was a problem with the first 2 of these I received, where after panning the head would pause for a moment, then randomly twist backwards and forwards. Netgadgets (the seller) assured me this was not meant to be the case and replaced them both times.Fingers crossed, the 3rd one doesn't seem to suffer from the same issue. Tilt is maybe a little too stiff on this one but it's still basically new out of the box so will see if it loosens up a bit. A word of caution if you plan on doing any 'dramatic' camera motion, the tripod can wobble or tip a little; despite being heavy and quite sturdy, the weight is distributed toward the top (mostly thanks to the head) so pushing and pulling too much will overbalance it.This is quite easily avoidable though if you're aware of it, and there are points on the tripod to which extra weights could be attached.Final verdict barring another problem cropping up: it's not perfect but is far better than I expected to own as a serious amateur filmmaker with a low budget, and used appropriately I doubt I'll ever find it unable to cope with the shots I need.

Really solid, this feels like a quality tripod and I feel safe putting my Canon XL1S up on here. No other tripod in this price range has felt this capable to hold a heavier camera like the XL1S (5-6 kg). I'll be honest, over £100 was more than I wanted to spend. I'm working with no budget and so I was looking for an inexpensive tripod and I soon realised I would need to pony up to at least this level. I got something that looks and feels like it should cost a heck of a lot more than it did. I have used hired professional tripods before, and this feel way closer to that quality than the cheaper, hollow quality of my cheap small camera tripods. It has a nice pan and tilt head and spirit level and the legs are all responsive to adjustment. It has metal plates to affix to your camera for maximum grip and easy adjustment. My only concern is that the tripod feet are just caps, I would have like to have had bigger flat feet attached with some grip and swivel movement, like some other tripods have. But for the price, the quality and features more than make up for this.Overall, I'm delighted!

I concur Mr Fryers review of 8 Nov 08. This is an excellent value tripod. It was superbly packed in very strong cartons. The product oozes quality and is easily the equal of much more expensive tripods. The carry case is very good too, and the tripod comes with an extra camera base plate. Apart from the free leather camera case (only of use if you have a 35mm camera)there is a small cleaning kit including a mini table tripod. The Tripod Dolly for Professional Camera/Video/Lighting which I also bought, is excellent too and by the same Konig company. Seldom do I feel chuffed about a purchase - but this is one time I am pleased to enthusiastically endorse a product. One point, there is no controlling facility for rotating the whole head without releasing the screw clamp which then makes levelling during panning a purely random and manual function. A pity - otherwise a score of 95% would go to 99.9%.

If you're still struggling with a tripod that won't pan smoothly, wobbles, or just doesn't have the solidity to make your shots look professional, buy this! The build quality is first class, just as good as many I have tried for four times (or more) this price.Especially if you're a "Prosumer" - someone more professional than a consumer but without the budget for what is considered "professional" gear, this is absolutely the right buy. It's heavy - stays put, and the pan and tilt head that comes with it a well up to professional standards. Smooth pans, even on full zoom are possible. The pan is maybe a tad on the stiff side, but this is a minor niggle. The important things are,it doesn't jerk when starting a pan or 'retrack' a bit when stopping. A serviceable carrying bag that takes the tripod (with the head attached) all comes with it.Well recommended.

I received the Tripod well within the specified time. The description was perfect and is in fact a lightweight tripod with a head that has a reasonable weight for basic camera movement. I had read the reviews of others and I agree with what I read. Of course it could be better but I wanted a reasonably light tripod that I could carry along with the camera and this is what I got. I have recently set up my own production business having been a director/producer as well as due to staff cutbacks began doing my own camera work with professional cameras so the lightness of a smaller camera and now a tripod will do most of what I want to do with in production. Thank you again for the prompt delivery time bearing in mind I am in Australia. The market here did not seem to have a tripod of this quality at a reasonable price.

First seen on another website a year ago, but had been discontinued by the time I was ready to order. Then recently it appeared on Amazon, no hessitation this time. Ideal for larger, shoulder mounted video cameras. But did have a minor flaw. Both of the camera plates needed their corners to be chamferred, otherwiase they would foul the locking plate when sliding camera onto actual tripod. The locking screw itself is too close to the base of the camera to quickly release the pressure on the cameras mounting plate. Otherwise is well constructed and a lot cheaper than similiar models from the major brands. However, do miss not having a raisable centre column, could be down to my age!Arrived within 4 or 5 days of placing order, which was much appreciated.

I ordered this particular tripod on the 22 October and recieved it on the 26 October. The quality of this product was more than 100%; it was just purely amazing. Straight away, I erected the tripod and fitted all the loose features (of which there isn't many) together and practiced panning and tilting immediately. Even without a camera, you can tell that the smoothness of these filming techniques are absolutely excellent and I'm truely thrilled to be ownership of this model.I am getting my professional HD camcorder for Christmas so seriously cannot wait to use the equipment properly. Plus, it has that professional look and durability/strength of a top-end tripod and contains the best fluidhead i've experienced.I RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE!

Tripod arrived very quickly from Netgadgets. Like other reviewers, I find it remarkable value for money. Very solidly built - my camcorder is so much better supported than it had been with my Velbon still camera tripod. Fluid head works well, although mine appears a little overdamped in the horizontal plane at present (leads to slight backlask at end of pan).I tried the tripod out in good weather but with fairly gusty winds. Results were rock-solid even at longest end of camera's zoom settings. The complete package really is excellent value for money. This is a really well-built tripod and head for less than half the price of many big-name fluid heads alone!
