HartwoodThis is an interesting and visually appealing serving board received for review. It’s also refreshingly different. A great many restaurants and cafes are abandoning the ceramic, the vitreous and the china in favour of what amounts to planks of wood or maybe slate. Duncurin had a pizza a couple of nights ago which was served on a square of what looked like plywood. One café in a nearby massive garden centre serves all their sandwiches on rectangular ‘troughs’ of wood. When dealing with catering to the masses I’m not sure that this is a particularly smart move as I don’t think you can beat a good old douse in very hot water, steam or the dishwasher all of which would be denied to these wooden boards.This board however,intended more for home use, has a lovely glazed and sealed finish which feels a lot more hygienic. It is made from Acacia and has a lovely tree section appearance complete with bark. Please note although one can wipe it and wet it to one’s hearts content, it advises you not to actually immerse it in water as I suspect the bark finish not completely insulated by the glazing will allow ingress of water which sooner or later will work through and cause the bark to separate. Careful and common-sense use should provide for years of service.It’s roughly circular; tree dimensions being observed and about 10-12 inches in diameter. It would make for a lovely serving platter of cold meat, tapas, sweets, canapés and so on with the only limits one’s imagination. It will also make for an interesting conversation point at one’s next dinner party and it has a year round all season appeal. It has a lovely thickness and weight to it and its smooth finish will not mark one’s table or linen.All in all this is an unusual item but one that has a nice appeal to it and would stand out for all the right reasons. This is a gorgeous platter made from a slice from a natural trunk of Acacia wood revealing beautiful vanilla, honey and toffee sworls of natural wood and edged with natural bark. It's a beautiful addition to your table whether as a small platter or cheeseboard, this would definitely be Instagram worthy dressed up in the recent trend of cheese and charcuterie platters.As its a natural wooden board it's got to be treated with respect, it can't go in your dishwasher and it can't just get soaked in a sink of water, it has been lightly treated to help with repelling moisture and juices etc but you do have to be sensible with what you use this for,and careful of how you use knives etc on it and be kind and this will give you a beautiful board for years to come.The only downside I can see is this would make an amazing gift but it just comes with a ribbon and tag! You will have to buy a gift box for it to look more special as a gift.

The KitchenCraft Artesà Natural Wooden Tree Trunk Cheese Board is a very attractive addition to your dining table, indoors or out, and it’s perfect for serving cheese, but also tapas, nibbles with drinks and much more.Being simply a slice through the trunk of an acacia tree, the bark edging sets of the growth rings of the natural wood. When we’d finished using it for the first time, and I went to put it away in the sideboard, my wife said, “That’s much too attractive to hide in a cupboard”. She found a plate holder for it and it now sits on top of the sideboard when not in use.We’re very impressed.

This is a very attractive wooden tree trunk (acacia) serving platter that is very well sealed and a good size at 30cm (12"). I have seen others that are quite low quality and have bits of bark missing etc but this one arrived looking perfect and I really love that it has a food safe seal on it. It's a good size for serving up all kinds of foods, from cheese and biscuits, olives, antipasti, or some lovely homemade bread from the oven. Very nice product and looks great being used on the dining table for that rustic but elegant look 5/5

This is a really nice idea:- essentially a slice of a tree trunk which has been lightly treated- easy to clean although not for dishwasher use (and probably best not to leave in a sink!)- my only negative point is that it didn't sit on a flat surface... so I now have a wobbly serving plate... but it's not a major issue.Overall this is a great idea, ideal for using as a cheese board!

Attractive Acacia wood serving platter or cheese board, nice for an after-meal cheese selection or some antipasti at the start of a meal. Quite attractive in colour and finish, this has a glaze that should help it retain its clean, shiny appearance meal after meal as long as though you don't immerse it in water or put it in the dishwasher.

I love the fact that this is such a natural item and think it looks great. It perfect to use as a serving board for cheese or just to put some dips on etc. You don't want to get it covered in food though as it cant go in the dishwasher or be immersed in water but a few squirts of antibacterial spray should do the job of keeping it clean.

Bought this to use in flat lay photos and it's lovely quality, considering the prices that I've seen other similar log boards go for. This looks exquisite in pictures and I imagine would make a great display or center piece- may actually use it as such because it looks so good. Couldn't recommend more.

I really like my piece of tree trunk . It is a good size for putting bowls of dips on , or bread . I just love the natural feeling of it. It has been smoothed so the surface is smooth , no chance of splinters. I would advise rubbing a little olive oil on it after cleaning to keep in top condition.

This is great, just what I was looking for. It is a good size (just as described) and has a very smart, lightly varnished finish to it. It will work very well as a cake stand, which is what I ordered it for, but afterwards I will probably use it as a cheese board.

I was a bit sceptical to order based on recent reviews but haven’t find an alternative so took my chance. I am very happy with the product, it is natural, well treated and perfect for what I needed. Wether for decoration or as a plate, can be used well for both.

Absolutely love the wooden log slice, so much I bought two and intend to use them for cake boards for my rustic cake designs! Good value for money, they were well sealed with wax and I really have no complaints as good quality and perfectly fine for food use!

The item arrived quickly, but when I opened it the wood looked nothing like the picture. In fact it was just plain, no difference in the wood colouring, which is what I wanted. It was good quality, but I had to return for a refund. I was very disappointed.

Beautiful item, bought as a cake stand for my little boys birthday party. Beautifully made will have lots of use after as a serving platter. Would purchase again and recommend
