This will be my third Defea Bag, 1 black, 1 true blue and now this which is silver in colour (bought for holidays). I find that the size of this bag is in my opinion an ideal size for carrying around for every day use as its not too heavy, I use it everyday as a handbag and as a small shopping bag ( it will hold loads) i.e.on holiday it holds purse, phone, passport, my SLR Digital Camara (which is quite chunky) plus an additional lens, a kindle and many more items I may wish to carry around. These fit in the main compartment whilst spare batteries (4) fit in one of the two front zipped pockets. One of the other small pockets on the front which is fastened by Velcro,holds any small item which you need to access quickly,i.e. train tickets, bus passes, oyster card etc.and the other small pocket on the front (with diagonal zip) holds even smaller items. Located on the back of the bag is a further large zipped pocket and I find this useful to hold a passport, pair of eye glasses, sunglasses, a packet of tissues anything again which you might need to access quickly. In the main compartment there is another internal zipped pocket and the usual kipling keyholder which is always useful. As you see therefore it is a real workhorse of a bag but just one thing to note, it will not fit an A4 size book. Hope this review is helpful to anyone considering buying this bag, I would not be without mine.

Had a defea years ago which I loved and to be honest the only thing stopping me getting another one was that I love shoulder bags without the look of grab handles spoiling the look, if you know what I meanSo took the plunge with the dazz blue which is a lovely finish on the navy side of blue. The strap that it comes with is a little too heavy so I have attached another Kipling strap which works well for me. The organisation of the five outer compartments is great. Smaller zip pocket I use for rail tickets, or lipstick, Velcro pocket for reading glasses. Zipped front pocket for my small Kipling zipped purse and iPhone 6 in other front pocket.The two end out pockets fit a pack if tissues plus slim water bottle Of course the larger back zipped outer pocket is good for iPad or shopping bags. And then you have the large interior of defea with all the regular Kipling pockets with key fob and zipped pocket. What's more to say. No wonder this us a global success.I'm a little worried that Kipling may be phasing in a new Defea with only two zipped front pockets. I hope I'm wrong as the out two, be it only small are so many useful, especially when travelling

Incredible Tardas like bag. I love this bag, but then I love Kipling, having a suitcase, numerous bags, a backpack and 2 brownie purses. Even though the description give the colour as crimson, i think it is more like burgundy. A lovely rich colour, and i have bought the matching purse. (to me from me for Christmas) There is plenty of room inside for my Kipling browning purse, an A5 notebook, tissues and various other bits and pieces that seem to end up in my bag. I can also fit a light cardigan in if necessary. The inside zip pocket is large enough to take my pill box and my three inhalers as well as a pack of paracetamol. There are pockets on either end, which is great as I always take a bottle of water with me when I go out.There is a large zipped pocket on the back that my kindle fits in and a couple of smaller pockets in front, one with a flap in which I keep my mobile. One of the best things about a Kipling bag, apart from the quality and the fact that you can wash them is that they have a special catch to attach your keys so you never lose them. Highly recommend this bag, so glad I bought it. Ideal for every day use and for travelling.

I am absolutely delighted with this bag. After my last trip to London when I carried a handbag and then another bag with tablet, kindle, water etc etc, I decided that I wanted a bag which would take everything for when we go away on holiday. This is ideal! I love the colour - Summer Purple. I find that most of the contents of my handbag fit into the two front zipped pockets. I was grateful for another review telling me that a bottle of water would fit in one of the end pockets - glasses case goes in the other one. Tablet and kindle in the pocket on the back - leaving me the capacious inner area with further pockets for any other 'rubbish' (such as my stitching')that I may want to take with me - or the odd bit of shopping if I only want one or two items. It isn't a small bag, but it is exactly what I wanted. The bag was sent very quickly (I paid extra for Standard Delivery) but it arrived a day earlier than promised.

I love this bag. While it doesn't look or feel huge and cumbersome, the main compartment holds a massive amount of stuff - I took it to the spa with a small towel, swimming things, make up bag, sponge bag, hair brush and woolly hat in there. Two zips on top give easy access.The side pockets took my glasses case and brolly and the small pockets at the front my keys, perfume, lip gloss etc. Purse in internal zip pocket and phone, iPod and pen in drop pockets - iPad mini in outer zip pocket - I have probably forgotten something but it gives you the idea - all that in a lovely neat not oversized bag!!!In addition,the colour is exactly as shown and the fabric hard wearing and wipe clean so super practical as well as very stylish.No wonder this style is a brand world best seller,

I love this bag! This is not my first Defea bag. I have used my first Defea as my everyday bag for two and a half years and it just does not wear out. I bought this one to have a change of colour. I have just bought the "City Highlight" design and it will go with a variety of colours and I think it is not too jazzy. I am very hard on handbags - put a lot in them - and previous brands I bought ones were wearing out in just a few weeks. This makes my Kipling bags excellent value for money. I now own several styles and have bought them all at reduced prices and am a huge Kipling fan. I like the fact that the Defea can go over my shoulder and across the body for security. It might be too big for some,but when you always seem to need lots of stuff, it's ideal.

This is my 5th Defea and while I have tried many other Kipling styles, I always come back to this one. I love the bowling bag style and the many pockets and zipped compartments ( about 12 in total, including phone and pen pouches). I used to prefer the ones in bold plain colours but these days I go for patterns. This time I chose black with grey dots all over it. It's fun but stylish and perfect for the winter months. I'll be buying another defea in lighter, brighter colours come spring. My only beef is the fluffy monkey. Am I the only person who dislikes this item? My 5 year old granddaughter loves them and I give them to her. I much prefer the metal/plastic/leather versions that Kipling use on their classier styles.

I bought this bag as the price was brilliant. I have used it a few times and really love it. It has so many external pockets, which I use for my travelcard, keys, hand sanitiser, folding bag, mints, they can be used for many things. The shoulder straps can actually go over the shoulder comfortably even with a coat on and it also has a removable cross body strap that extends quite long. I wear my bag on the 'wrong' shoulder, and quite often zip pulls are behind me, but this bag has duel zip pulls so I can have it in front of me and feel my items are safe. It is very roomy and I can fit loads in. I have Creativity in the same pattern that I load in and it looks great, really organised.

i was worried this would not fit over my shoulder, it does just about, with a light coat, but keep the extendable handle attached all the time which I didn’t think I would. It’s great quality, lots of pockets. I will be using it for work as I am tired of carrying a bag with my essentials and a separate bag with my lunch. Fits everything I unnecessarily insist on lugging around with me everywhere I go and is lightweight enough for me not to get a bad shoulder after. I bought a cheap unbranded similar bag almost 2 years ago which did not last at all. My advice is, pay the extra and get the proper one, the price on amazon Was excellent and the bag came earlier than expected.

This is the 5th Defea I have had and it is the best of the Kipling shoulder bags. It has so many pockets and zipped compartments, there is a place for everything you could ever want to carry. In addition to a phone pocket, it has a pen slot and a key holder. Despite the number of pockets, compartments and zips, this bag is really light, even when full. It is a really attractive bowling bag shape and looks great half empty or packed with stuff. In addition to all the above, the pattern and colour are lovely (mini geo). I was so taken with this bag when it arrived, I was tempted to browse for yet another in a different print!

My first Kipling bag (that has already led to another bag and x2 purses!). I needed a bag for work which would fit in usual bag bits as well as my Crockpot lunch warmer or a lunchbox. I've been making do with a smaller bag and a carrier bag for the lunch bits but as I often need to use a walking stick this can sometimes be tricky. This one fits the bill brilliantly, lots of pockets to keep me organised and main body of bag takes my lunch bits no problem. I got it in the violet shades colour which is lovely and has drawn comments from colleagues, many of whom are Kipling fans I've since found out by having this bag!

Having seen many qvc presentations about Kipling bags and knowing people who own them I have long coveted one but couldn't justify spending so much on a nylon bag. However, I am extremely pleased with my Defea, bought in the black leaf pattern, and will probably buy others in the range now. It is very well made, the zips are strong, plenty of pockets and roomy, and most importantly it's lightweight with practical straps that don't slide off my shoulders. Not at all glamorous but I have plenty of other bags for that purpose. Glad I finally succumbed,especially as the price was so reasonable.

I bought this to replace an older version of the same bag, I have tried different styles and materials but kept going back to my old favourite which was beginning to show it's age so I ordered this bag. Apart from a couple of minor differences, lining and the internal pockets are larger it is essentially my favourite bag in a darker colour....so so useful the pockets can hold everything you need and make them easy to find, the capacity is such that on holiday it can hold the extras (kindle, suncream) or a small amount of shopping.Suffice to say I love this bag ?

Bought this on prime day at a huge discount which made the bag good value. The bag is very spacious with lots of pockets and zips which makes the bag very practical. It is also multifunctional as not only you can adjust the long strap to wear as shoulder or messanger bag, but it also has handles which make it dresser. From the picture I could not make out the colour of the bag straps and trimmings. Once unpacked it was clear that they are dark navy. Although I would have preferred black the bag is so attractive and functional that I have decided to keep it.

A great bag. I love Kipling as you can stick them in the washing machine when they get a bit dirty. A word of warning about this one though, it's like the TARDIS! It doesn't "look" that big as a bag, but there are pockets everywhere, even discreet ones. What's not obvious from the pictures are that there is a pocket on both ends held at the top with velcro. They are big enough to store a 500ml bottle of water in. A great bag, perfect for my needs, and will probably buy another one in a different colour (although this colour matches virtually every outfit).
