I am an amazon vine reviewer. I am reviewing the black “Kensington” SP80 15.6 “ Deluxe Notebook case. A label inside it says it is made of 100% polyester.(15.6” is about 40 cm)The SP80 has been well thought out.Starting from the front of the SP80 where the “Kensington” label is, it has: -1) A zipped pocket 31x15cm for general items.2) A 35x23cm compartment for your smart phone, business card, 3 pen slots behind which is another 18x11 cm slim pouch.3) A zipped 40x30 cm approx. compartment for a laptop computer. There is a “felt” pad at the bottom and a Velcro single strap at the top to keep the laptop secure.4) A zipped 40x30 cm approx. compartment with a central divider. This could be used for carrying report files etc.5) A zipped 40x30 cm approx. compartment. Velcro attaches an external horizontal strap to this compartment. I think this could be for sliding the whole bag onto the extension handle of a wheelie suitcase. There is also a shoulder strap inside of the bag, which clips onto two rings on the outside of the bag.I am fussy about zips and how well they glide back and forth. All of the SP80 black plastic zips moved very smoothly.I am currently planning a foreign vacation. So I loaded up the SP80 with my laptop, 3 guidebooks, several maps and a softback large roadmap –of Florida, a holidays planning file of flights etc., my phone and three pens. The SP80 took all of these items in its stride. I found that all of the zips closed and opened well without being stretched or snagging. There was also some room to slot a notebook-sized device next to my laptop, or a charger for the laptop or phone.I fitted the adjustable shoulder strap, which has a sliding curved part for sitting comfortably on my shoulder. The bag was heavy. But then I had put quite a lot of stuff in it. I walked up and down my stairs for a few “laps” to see how it sat. I used to travel abroad a lot in my job carrying similar bags of about this weight. My conclusion is that the SP80 would take on this travel role - with the equivalent kind of business stuff, that I tried for my holiday items above, via taxis, airports and walking to and from meetings and so on.My experience tells me that is robust and hard wearing and therefore should last for a long time and not let you down.Based on the test regime that I was able to use, and my experience, I think the Kensington SP80 15.6” Deluxe Notebook Case deserves a 5 star rating.

This is a 'Classic' by name and design. The "Kensington SP 15.4" Classic Sleeve - Notebook Case" is advertised as fitting up to a 15.6-inch model - as dimensions of individual models will vary, fit of any specific one cannot be ensured. It is described as a 'sleeve' rather than a 'case' indicating that its features and facilties are few. Kensington is known for its computer accessories, of which there is an extensive range. There are others at similar prices but some better-featured alternatives need not cost much more!It is a simple design comprising soft but fairly strong fabric with a full-size zipped main pocket that has a soft fleecy lining (probably polyester) but not much padding, even on the base where the weight of the laptop is carried and onto which it may be dropped by some users rather than slid in horizontally. There is a slightly smaller flap pocket on the front for power packs, leads, small accessories and cables while the slide-in pocket to the rear could be reserved for for documents up to A4. It has a pair of carry handles on top either side of its zip plus a removable shoulder or cross-body strap that attaches at the sides. A more serious contender would have the carry handles attached to canvas bands that enclose the lower portions and bottom of the case for extra strength. Modern slim laptop designs will allow full use of and access to the outer pockets. The outer is nylon although not obviously either rip-stop or ballistic, the latter being the stronger and the former more tear resistant. It would have been preferred that there were feet on which it may rest, protecting it and contents from a wet surface, puddles etc but at the price it is possibly unrealistic. As it is priced very inexpensively, what it offers is reasonable and in-line with most of its direct competition. If treated with care, the case and its contents should provide good service. However, in the event that there is expectation of rough treatment by way of frequent transportation in the boot of a car, baggage handling etc, a stronger and better-padded equivalent would offer extra protection for its contents and itself but at much increased cost.As a basic laptop sleeve case, it is adequate for its role and offers good although not outstanding value.

Ticks all the right boxes for this modern take on a "carpet bag" of yor (or Mary Poppins).First impressions are it looks like a generic bag - no fancy styling or colours. It's black, all black, and the Kesington logo is discrete in grey. So no-one would guess the value of its contents from the bag alone - it could be an ancient 15.6" cheap laptop (that's me) or loads of Mac Pro goodies (not me!)It has been well thought out:Most importantly, the bottom and side edges of the laptop pocket has a substantial, 1 inch thick, covered foam insert to protect your laptop from falls should you drop the bag. The top of that pocket has a velcro fixing to close it, and stop the laptop falling out from the top (and makes pick-pocketing it harder, and noisier). The zips run very smoothly and are large, easy to use. Three of them have two zippers, so can be closed from either end.The shoulder-strap (removable) is well padded and adjustable. There are five main pockets in all, as follows:* front pocket - ideal for things you need quickly, e.g. passport, boarding pass, tickets etc* second pocket, with two zippers, opens flat to reveal an ID holder, key holder (at top), pockets for phone, small tablet etc, pens and notepads. There's two pockets on the other side, e.g. for hankie, medicines etc.* third pocket, with two zippers, for the laptop. Velcro (or similar) additional fastener and padding against bumps/falls* fourth pocket, with two zippers, has a divider - probably for large notepads, diary etc, and also suitable for cables, chargers etc* fifth pocket at the back, with a single zipper - large enough for a broadsheet newspaper* finally, a band, held in place with Velcro (or similar) for attaching the bag onto the handle of a trolley wheelie suitcase. So, all complete and present. It's a boring package as it's probably meant to be.

This is a perfectly adequate case for a 15-inch laptop. I don't use the word "adequate" to mean that there is anything wrong with this bag at all. The bag does the job that it was designed to do. There is nothing exceptional about the bag either in its construction or its design - the bag is perfectly capable and does a good job given its price point. There are two handles for carrying the bag like a briefcase. There is also a shoulder strap with a cushioned pad to distribute the weight of your laptop bag over a wider surface area on your shoulder - making for more comfortable carrrying. There is a good level of foam protection on the sides of the case. There is also a thin layer of cushioning along the narrower sides and the base of the bag - I personally would have preferred a thicker layer of protection for the bottom edge of the bag for when I'm setting the bag down on the ground (or if, for example, your bag should slip from your hands or shoulder onto the ground). However, that added level of protection is probably something that you will have to pay extra for in a more expensive bag.One outside pocket has a flap and stitched slots for your business cards and three pens. A plastic clip inside this pocket is a nice touch - for example you could attach a wallet or purse to it and then someone would not be able to steal it without having to unclip it first? The other pocket is open but has a small (perhaps one-inch long) piece of velcro that somewhat closes the pocket.Overall, this is a competent/adequate basic laptop bag. There's nothing exciting about it. But if you are looking for a good (but not exceptional) quality bag at a great price, then this may be the perfect bag for you.

I guess I should start by saying that I am a fan of carry cases for laptops. I never did get on with the backpack style. So, I write this review from that starting point. This case is in the classic style. It's replacing another one that I have had for - guess - 10 years or so? That one has done me great service and been my tech travel tardis all that time. It's battered and worn now and the handles feel a lot less comfortable than they did. So, in with the new! When I emptied out the old one on to the table, I was astonished at how much came out! Tardis is right.... would all that stuff go into this new Kensington case? Well, I need not have worried - yes, it did, easily. This one seems to have even more pockets and compartments than my old one. A nice big compartment for the laptop and its charger, then another big compartment for A4 size papers or whatever. Then a fascinating array of little and not so little pockets to allow everything from your phone to pencils and pens, batteries, business cards, cables to be toted around with you. Okay, at the end of loading up the case, it was about as heavy as the old one - but unlike that, it still had some unfilled space. I kept discovering new little pockets all the time!It seems well made, all the zips (most pockets have a zip opening) run smoothly. and it feels touch enough to stand up for itself! I've given it full marks for durability on that score, but as it's new obvously I don't KNOW yet.If, like me you prefer to take your laptop around in a carry bag, then go right ahead and get one of these. Highly recommended.

This is tough, sturdy laptop bag made of “ballistic nylon” - so it will take quite a bit of punishment. There are so many pockets I don't know what I'll do with them all! One of the two large pockets has a removable padded strip (it's attached by Velcro) which fits along the bottom and up each side, thereby providing padding for a laptop or similar. The smaller pocket on one side opens to reveal several smaller pockets inside – perfect for phone, pens, small notebooks, paper etc. Then there is another pocket on top of that – and yet another large pocket on the other, so you'll be able to carry so much more than just a laptop. All pockets have sturdy zip fasteners, with each tag having a hole which is handy if you want to fasten them together securely with a cable tie or travel padlocks. The carry handles are lightly padded for comfort, and the bag itself is quite light in weight. The detachable shoulder strap, made of strong webbing, has a removable shoulder pad and two really strong clips for attaching to the bag, using the metal rings. The strap is 130cms ( 51”) when fully adjusted. The designers seem to have thought of just about everything – even a little clip inside one of those many pockets, perfect to attaching to a bunch of keys. This is an exceptionally well made laptop bag, perfect for commuting, air travel, at a reasonable price. You get a lot of bag for your money with this one.

This case is made of tough polyester cloth, and has strong handles, plus a detachable shoulder strap. Inside, there's a well-padded compartment sized to take a standard 15.6" screen laptop. The bottom of this compartment has extra padding -- a good idea -- and a Velcro strap keeps the laptop in position. If you have a smaller laptop, it will go in, of course, but there is no way to keep it in place, so you'll have to insert some extra padding to stop it moving about. A second full size compartment will hold documents or folders, and on the side of the case, a wide-opening section will take leads, USB keys, pens and accessories. There's even a pocket just the right size for my external disk.A couple of slim zipped pockets will take more documents or small items. They have packed a lot of useful features into one bag!If you are dragging a wheelie bag through an airport, the tab on the back should let you fix this case on to the handle. The laptop case is in daily use for me, and I think it will last well. I wish it had some reinforcement to prevent the bottom corners from getting scuffed. This has happened to all my previous laptop cases, and I've worn my way through a few. I would also have liked it to be easier to secure a smaller laptop in the main padded compartment without having to add my own protection. So nearly 5 stars, but not quite.

This thoughtfully designed bag is of a robust nylon construction, with really good zips and tight stitching that keeps it all together. The padded handles support the bag well, and in between them are two long zips, one revealing a pocket with a divider that is ideal for taking documents or files with you, and the other revealing a large space with padding underneath for your laptop. There is also a detachable shoulder strap provided. On the other side of the handle is a full width zip that opens up an area for papers or accessories. At the front of the bag is a zip revealing a fold down flap covering a name/address tag holder and some nylon holders for pens and a mobile phone. It also has two mesh pockets which are very versatile. In the front of this flap there is also a generous zip pocket. The base has rubber feet that support its rigidity and make it unlikely to slip when stood on surfaces. This is a really good choice for a 15.6" laptop case - you can keep it, your mains lead, some accessories, a set of files and your mobile and a range of pens with you at all times. Because of the materials used in its construction, it can be rubbed clean and kept looking good for a very long time, it will also expand to take what you need for a day out of the office too. A great bag that I sometimes use without a laptop too! I love it!

The key aspect of any laptop case is clearly going to be whether it offers sufficient protection for the contents, principally being the laptop itself. From that perspective, this case seems to fulfil that brief quite well as the outer sides of the case are very well padded, although, I resisted from dropping the case with my laptop inside...just in case!Whilst there are plenty of additional storage pockets (one on the back and one on the front, both secured with Velcro strips, along with two compartments on the inside), the size of the case means that there is likely to be very little additional space to hold additional computer components e.g. a mouse, charger etc albeit, these might fit at a stretch. In my opinion however, these storage pockets are more likely going to be suited to holding small documents and similar sized items. It also comes with a handy shoulder strap, meaning that you have the option to either carry the laptop bag in your hand or over your shoulder.Given the protective qualities that this case offers and the current price at which this is being offered for sale (£12.71), it would almost be rude not to try it out and I see no reason not to recommend it. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because as much as I like it, it's still a laptop case and that's hard to get excited about!

My assumption is that the general workmanship for this bag is quite high. The fabric will be durable and those factors contribute towards the price. The design is fairly basic. A top-loading case, with a separate storage for paperwork and two for smaller items - one for the miscellany of work life (keys, cards, pens etc) and a larger one which I use for the power supply. I've attached a couple of pics, since there are currently none on the Amazon page. The case is comfortable enough, although you can spend a little more (vs the SSP) to get more comfortable options if your laptop is frequently over your shoulder. This strap is basic, although hard-wearing.In terms of protection, it's fairly basic. The corners are not reinforced, the inner laptop space is not soft-lined. The nylon on all sides may be durable, but it is thin. Be sure to keep your laptop plug facing outwards with such bags.Ultimately, this does feel like a cheap bag. Because it comes from a recognisable brand, that's why I have a good feeling about it's workmanship, as simple as the design is. For a similar entry level top-loading laptop case, it's probably worth a few pounds extra to get a branded product such as this, but also look at spending more, if you're going to use the case a lot.

Absolutely nothing has been skimped on the spec for this notebook/laptop case. The two main storage compartments, themselves divided, will swallow your laptops (plural) with ease and offer them great protection in transit or storage. Even the subsidiary pockets will cater just as readily for your i-Pad or other tablets and take great care of your stationery requirements too. Cushioning and padding is well distributed and the quality of the overall finish is most impressive. The many zips move smoothly and the pulls are capable of padlock security if you think it necessary. It is also designed to slip over the handle of a larger wheeled unit and comes with a very comfortable shoulder strap. If you wish to carry it like a brief case, the twin carry handles are soft and kind to the hands, but strong and sturdy as well. The black outer cover, while not fully waterproof, offers the contents good shelter and protection from the elements. Attention to detail is also shown with the two rubberised resting pads on the base which add to overall durability of the item.

This might not win any awards for sartorial elegance but it does provide a solid laptop back at a very good price. Its black fabric seems robust and the strap easy to affix and is comfortable. There is only one main zip. Everything else is velcro. The main zipped section has a fabric divider, which I can see might break with heavy use. There's nothing to suggest it will, it's just my experience on cheaper bags that these internal linings aren't always as robust as they could be.There's section on that would lie against the body when carrying it fastened by a single piece of velcro with no fold over flap, so not necessarily that useful, but the front has another section with a robust flap held by two bits of velcro. This would be ideal for power leads and perhaps a paper notebook or two. This section also has a couple of pen holders, a clear plastic "name card" window and a plastic key ring clip (that I probably won't use.)This won't set your world on fire (or your laptop, hopefully) but for a shade over a tenner is a fine quality bag.

This notebook case is excellent value for money and ideal for work, or for students. My son is at University and he has been using this to take to classes. It comfortably fits his laptop, notebook and other necessary supplies. The bag has a strong, robust feel to it, although the material feels just a little coarse to me. It has handles, so you can carry it in your hand, but it also comes with a shoulder strap, that you can attach. This is more padded and, to my mind, is the most comfortable way to carry this. The inside, central pocket, is well padded and ideal to keep your laptop. There is also an interior, side pocket, where you can store a large notebook. As well as the main storage area, there is a large pocket at the back of the back, with a simple velcro closure. The front pocket has a more secure flap closure, which also has velcro to keep it closed. There are spaces for an ID or Oyster card, a clip for keys and pen holders. Oddly, no phone pocket, but, overall, this is practical, comfortable to carry and very spacious.

I recently took this with my small portable machine a boot, two bot books, power pack and wireless mouse on a business meeting. Collecting paper-work along the way, I found it so useful, for this price point I really can't complain at all. Simple feel, looks nice, over shoulder handle is good and it's pretty comfy to lug around. My biggest problem was with the plastic connectors on the shoulder trap they were not very good and when lifting the shoulder strap they'd just sit not turning to take any kinks out the strap. But, zips good, rear velcro pocket good, front folder over - with pen-hooks and space for notebooks excellent.Even the "remove after purchase" label just pulled off easily between thumb and fore-finger - so you have this sleek black only over shoulder bag!Really liked this and it worked well within a formal suit situation, but had that flexibility. I've already ordered another to keep in the cupboard so I have a cheap and very good bag available from a sealed back to make that impact impressive statement.
