UK potters made rubbish coddlers; a German engineer took the idea and made what was required to do a good job. The one-egg size is too small, especially with garnish, but the two-egg is excellent. The prices are absurdly high but how many coddlers does one need?

This is the second one of these I have bought to replace the traditional porcelain ones we had as the glue keeping the tops on slowly disintegrated - these are such a better design, nothing can go wrong, and you can see when your egg is done!

These were rather expensive but seem to be OK. Just remember to lightly grease inside before coddling eggs. I am practicing with the timing but not perfected it quite yet for a runny yolk. Seems to be about 7 mins.

So much nicer than the original Egg Coddler designs that were made of porcelain.Brings back so many happy childhood memories of breakfast time.

Difficult to tell from just the image how much you can put in 1 item. In the end, it is a bit too small for what I wanted to do with it.

Lovely piece of kitchen equipment, butter the mold, crack an egg in with some herbs and gently poach in pot of simmering water.

Beautiful small container for storing food, eg, pate, or for coddling eggs. Has a vintage feel to it and looks really pretty.

Got this for my dad who struggles with fiddly tasks (like manipulating his boiled egg) and this works very well.

The product itself is great however I misunderstood the size, it will only hold a single egg.
