At £155.90 for a frying pan without a lid and without even a non-stick surface, it is immediately apparent that this particular kitchen utensil is not one of your standard pots'n'pans; this is for those who take their cooking very seriously and is aimed at the kitchen connoisseur for whom quality is paramount in the culinary field. With a 28cm diameter and made of 100% Stainless Steel this is a large and fairly deep frying/braising/sauté pan, and accordingly weighs in at a pretty hefty 1.83 kilograms. The finish is impeccable, as is all of the construction; the rivets attaching the handle do not intrude into the inner of the pan, leaving the inside perfectly smooth and even. The base, which is responsible for much of the weight - which ensures that it is a very stable pan - is so designed and constructed as to absorb and disseminate heat evenly, and can be used on all types of hob including induction.Of course, not having a non-stick coating means that you don't want to be using excessive heat to cook with unless you want to spend as much time scouring pans after a meal as you spent cooking it in the first place.Being constructed of Stainless Steel does however means that you can use as much Elbow Grease as necessary in cleaning. It is dishwasher safe and is ovenproof up to a temperature of 220°C (428°F in old money). In this type of cooking vessel the even and steady absorption, maintenance and distribution of heat equally is of paramount importance, and ensuring optimum performance in this respect is what is responsible for a large chunk of the price.A particularly useful feature of this pan is the gauge on the inside which features lines to mark fluid levels in half litre steps, up to 2 litres. The pan also features a lip around the rim that allows accurate and non-drip pouring from the pan. The hollow stay-cool handle features the ubiquitous hole at the end, which is flattened and enables the pan to be hung up from a hook if so desired. For those for whom a frying pan is little more than the means by which to fry one's breakfast eggs this pan would represent a monstrous waste of money, but for the gastronome who desires top quality utensils that allow fine control over the process, with specific qualities for specific culinary demands, I suspect that this would swiftly become an essential item of kitchenware. At this price it will never be regarded as a "bargain", but once acquired it is robust and solid enough that it is unlikely to ever need replacing. Thus looking at the cost in light of an item that could well outlast its owner it begins to look more reasonable. This is definitely not for the casual cook, but definitely one for those connoisseurs most committed to the culinary arts.

With my cooking, the frying pan is the basic workhorse, probably the most used yet most undervalued of the pens in my set. Not any more, now it’s the star of the show thanks to this. This is a very high quality piece of equipment. It has an induction-safe base, but being (seemingly) stainless steel it happily goes over flames too. It’s beautifully weighted and lovely to hold. It weighs 1.7Kg even when it’s empty, so it’s not for the weak wristed- this is a heavy beast of a pan. If you’ve got the strength, it tosses pancakes like a dream. The lip to the rim makes for easy pouring, and the measuring marks are clear but unobtrusive.Being metal, it's a little more challenging when washing up than the non-stick pans I'm used to,but I believe it’s dishwasher safe, if your dishwasher can handle it.The handle is a wonder of modern technology. Despite looking like one piece, with no seams that you can see or feel, there’s a definite temperature-blocking gap between the pan and then handle, and there’s no heat transfer at all. It feels wonderfully secure and very comfortable to hold. The hole for hanging is 15mm diameter, so it will hang on most existing hooks, if that’s your storage solution. This is a very nice frying pan indeed. I can’t find any fault with it. It’s clearly going to be a durable companion for many years, and it’s also going to encourage me to do more cooking, and more adventurous cooking. My days of lacklustre and basic frying are behind me!

As an ex chef I tried many pot and pan brands before in the kitchen, but I always ended up using Fissler. It has well made and professional products and has extra long lasting life. It doesn't look fancy like the ceramic or teflon coated frying pans but instead this one will not discolour and is easy to clean and can be cleaned with scourers. It has a fairly long handle which will not get hot and safe to grab it even without a kitchen cloth. It made from german stainless steel and this is definitely a guarantee for high quality. As I mentioned earlier it is easy to clean and dishwasher-safe. Can be used on an electric stove, gas stove and also on induction hob.Has an internal measuring lines which shows the maximum of 1.5L capacity. It is ideal just for frying meat, eggs but also to fill it up with oil and deep-fry chips/wedges or you can also use it as a sauce pan. I've got with 24cm diameter drip free rim which is more than enough for a domestic kitchen but there is also a 28cm version available too with 2L capacity. I think I won't go to any other brand it's worth to pay a bit more for a pro kitchen tool, with this you will not end up with only the handle in your hand while the pan fell on the floor. I highly recommend it!

This is a very high quality stainless steel pan but I suspect aimed at people with more money than sense. We have had a similar pan by Meyer for over twenty years and it still performs just like this one but for a lot less money. That said its a very good pan, the weight means that it takes a little longer to heat up than a regular pan but the heat is distributed very evenly with no hot spots providing an efficient cooking experience. Nothing sticks at all unless you abuse it and leave it unattended. These pans are very easy to clean and most cooking marks will wipe off with just water. Previous experience with the Meyer shows that even if you do burn something onto the bottom it will cleaneasily with a short soak. The pan is constructed with a lip that aids easy pouring and has a graduated scale on to the inside for measuring liquids. It has a 10" long handle which looks a bit odd but helps to prevent it getting hot.At this price you would expect to get a lid as well but if you're buying this to impress your foodie friends that won't really matter.

This is an expensive pan. So what do you get for that money? I think you get a pan made for professionals, one that will last and one that will do a good job.You also get a handle that has an end that doesn't get hot so you can wow your friends as you wield the pan like a professional too, with not one oven glove in sight. What you don't get is a non-stick pan making this harder to clean. But the non-stick pans tend to accumulate damage to their non-stick material after a while anyway so that is something I can live with. Not much more to say other than it does a good job, looks good, looks to be well-made and looks to be built to last.

It's not cheap, but like Le Creuset, this range is well made and if you look after it, it should last you for life. It's very important that you read the instructions first and follow the care guidelines, beginning by boiling water in it for two minutes before you begin use. The pan is heavy, so it isn't suitable for anyone with arthritis in their hands, but on the plus side it isn't easy to knock off the cooking ring.Food cooks very well, with good heat distribution. Also, the pan is deep enough to cope with a variety of dishes. All in all, a very good pan without the toxic substances that often part of a cheaper pan's surface.

Fissler is one of the top German countries for kitchen appliances and implements. This is a very high quality, heavy duty and very well made stainless steel frying pan. If you want an alternative to non-stick / anodised / enamelled products, then look no further. Excellent heat distribution and doesn't really have a 'sticking' problem, if you get it hot before frying and use it sensibly - i.e. not letting food go dry or having the heat up too high. My trial took place on a gas hob but it seems to work on all others. Highly recommended and easy to clean. This takes a standard glass or metal 28cm lid.

First impression of the pan is I realised why it is £163,90 (at time of review). It is made of strong stainless steel, quite heavy and heavy duty and really well made. However its weight would not put me off using it. I used it on a gas hob and It cooked a curry really well and evenly, and did not stick . The handle did not get hot either which some pans do.It was easy to clean too considering the curry had been simmering for 15-20 minutes. Only downfall is was that there wasn’t a lid.I think this pan will last a lifetime if treated well.

At over £150 for a pan this is not for the faint hearted or casual cook. It’s good weight is reassuring but due to its riveted handle you don’t get burnt fingers as it stays cool when in use on the hob. You can also use it in the oven which is very useful. It distributes the heat evenly which is great, and has a measure on the side which is useful for adding a specific amount of liquid. It is a pan which is made to last a lifetime so a great investment. Overall a great quality pan made with care and attention which is easy to clean too.

This is a solid, heavy pan! It looks and feels so much sturdier than any of my previous frying pans and it cooks really evenly. The handle which is also metal does get warm but the very end of it that you hold stays cool and thanks to the design, despite being quite heavy it balances easily when held at the end of the handle. It can go in the oven for grilling and despite not having a non-stick Teflon lining it has so far been really easy to clean afterwards.I’d not even heard of this brand before but I’m very impressed

11.11.2019

This is a beautiful frying pan, the sort of thing professional chefs have in their kitchen. It’s big and bulky and quite heavy, but when you’re cooking with it you feel secure, especially with the handle, which doesn’t heat up even when the pan is very hot. If you don’t mind the weight, this is an excellent pan, and so far I’ve had no problems washing it. However, is is VERY expensive at over £130. Is it worth it? I don’t do enough frying to justify the price, but for keen cooks it could be a sound investment.

This is another incredible item of cookware from Fissler. The metalwork, in stainless, is faultless and so clearly Germanic in design. Its weight, whilst solid is not unwieldy and the pan cooks fast and evenly from the bottom. We popped it in the dishwasher and it came out supremen as you might expect. We have spent a lot of money on mid-range cookware and cheap stuff. This saucepan has taught us that there is another world out there worth investing in. We are not only fans but converts.

14.11.2019

This is absolutely top of the line. The weight alone is seriously impressive! It is so solid and hefty and it heats of fast and evenly. The actual cooking surface is a bit smaller than it could be but it is still ample. I was also very pleased with how quickly and easily it cleans up. While the price tag is every-so-slightly eye watering, I can only reiterate that this thing is of the absolutely highest quality and sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

16.11.2019

This is an absolutely beautiful pan that oozes quality. The weight is just right (definitely not too heavy as some reviewers have suggested) and it seems to cook really evenly. I was a bit wary of moving away from non-stick, but so far cleaning hasn't been an issue at all. This pan looks like it will outlast me - it's stylish enough to become a family heirloom!

29.11.2019

The frying pan is a key tool in the kitchen and this Fissler pan is expensive but worth having to to take its pride of place there. It oozes Germanic high quality - solid and easy to use and clean, it works to perfection. Highly recommended.
