WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!!I read reviews about this everywhere before purchasing and it can seem a lot of money, even with the amazon discounted price but honestly it's a brilliant invention. I am probably only able to write this review because my baby is asleep swinging away in the swing! I have a 5 week old who goes through fussy phases and phases of waking up the minute they are put down. To save your back, wrists and to let you get the dishwasher loaded this swing/chair is invaluable. It's like taking the baby out in the car without having to go out in the car! I assume as my baby grows she will enjoy swinging in it whilst awake, she already likes staring at the swinging lion toy above her head in it.Mostly right now though it rocks her to sleep when I've fed, changed and burped her and just need a break. This chair allows you to cook dinner and then eat it whilst still warm! Not sure how long the batteries will last but even if I have to buy a pack of 4 a week I couldn't care !The rainforest sounds, different tunes aren't annoying at all and the different volume helps. You can have it on and they can hear it but you don't have to! The vibrate is great as is the way the swing can be made into a static chair - handy when first sitting baby in and strapping them in to the harness. The harness itself is great, very safe and easy to adjust and secure baby in and take baby out. Really nice design on the whole swing as well, doesn't look like a garish monstrosity in my living room! The different swing speeds are great too - I swing baby at max speed to start with and as she drifts off and goes into a deeper sleep I take the speeds down every 20mins or so. Save on the batteries I suppose! This chair doesn't always put my little one to sleep, if she's hungry or needs burped she'll want taken out it so it doesn't fix all crying episodes but it is an amazing soother and great if you need to cook, clean, do housework, go for a shower or just sit in a chair on your own for an hour. Well worth every penny.

Set up is straight-forward enough, with each part clicking into place. There are couple of bits where screws are required, on both arms of the swing itself, and on the front bumper on the base. All in all it takes ten minutes or so to put together. It requires 4 C-size batteries, which aren’t supplied. The swing itself is nicely sturdy and has all the baby-proof features that you’d expect from a trusted brand like Fisher Price. There’s a 5-point harness to secure the baby in place – not really required but offering additional peace of mind and comfort. The rocking/swing motion has six speeds, along with a ‘relaxing’ vibrational setting, and the seat can be fixed into place when you don’t need the motion. The sounds and melodies are nicely diverse and varied enough to entertain and relax. The upper part of the frame doubles up as a handle, and it's all pleasingly solid. It looks really good, and the fabric seat cover is removable and washable, which is a nice touch. For all the variable options, my baby seems to prefer the lightest rocking mode, without any vibration or sound. I think the longest they've stayed awake in it has been about five minutes, and it's a lovely way to soothe them when they're fighting to stay awake and getting agitated.Despite being foldable and light enough for carrying short distances (from room to room, to a cupboard, to the car etc) it isn’t particularly compact when folded. Also, irritatingly, it doesn’t actually stand up when folded, it needs to be leaned against something to stand upright. It’s not a major problem and doesn’t really take away from the product’s function – it just seems like a design flaw, or at least something that should’ve been recognised and addressed when considering a space-saving function. That's why this isn't a 5-star for me - it's just that bit too cumbersome when folded up. Otherwise it's great.4.5 stars

It has to be pointed out that there is a conflict of information regarding the maximum weight for this product. On the listing it says 25llbs, however the instructions on the box say the max weight is 9kg which is just over 18llbs. As such depending on the growth rate of your baby you may only get 6-12 months out of it, just a point to bear in mind. The swing itself is very good, there are however a few negatives i have found so farThe lowest setting on the swing seems much too fast for a baby and can freak them out.Mine had no instructions included on how t fit it together.Doesnt recline far enough for meThe toys could do with slightly longer loops as the baby cant reach themThe music is veryquiet so if you live on a busy street its quite hard to hear itThe positivesHowever its bright and colourful and once used to it the baby will settle.I particularly like the lock feature, which is just a little clip that clips into the front bar, but it give you added reassurance that the baby is safeI like the face it can folded away, this is very useful as it doesnt take up a lot of spaceOverall i think its fair to award 4 stars, i think its slightly on the expensive side considering it wont last long, if its max user weight was 20kg instead of a paltry 9kg it would of gotten 5 stars.

Since the 70s ‘Fisher-Price’ have been a sign of quality in my family and this has continued into the next generation as the likes of ‘Fisher-Price Rainforest Take Along Swing and Seat’ remain top quality. Whilst the seat I would have sat on back then was probably on a spring, this swing seat does a lot more and is great entertainment for the very tiniest of babies. The initial setup is incredibly easy and a baby fits into the seat with ease and security. Once in place you can use the simple button system to judge the speed of the swing, add a little vibration or play a tune or three should you desire. What makes this swing good is that it is a take along one.You can easily pack it up and fit it in the car should you be visiting relatives. The device is also really easy to clean and you can remove the seat element and wash that in the washing machine independently. The only misgiving I have with the set is that is says that it is 2 in 1 – swing and seat. The seat is essentially you just clicking it into a stationary position and does not really add anything. You should look to buy this if you are looking for a great quality swing and not if you are looking for a comfortable seat.

Bought this chair when my baby was a newborn. He did slump in it slightly but this was less of a problem when the clip was plugged in (I.e in "chair" mode rather than swinging mode) making the seat more reclined. It vibrates, swings and plays music. My baby (now 9 weeks) falls asleep in ot when swinging and vibrating for 15 mins or so. Even when he doesn't sleep, he sits in it quite happily for 20 minutes at a time, allowing me to make some food or have a shower. This is sold as a travel chair. We did actually travel with it in the car and it folded down flat enough to tuck behind the seat of the car.Negatives are that the straps seem a bit short. It's a bit of a squeeze to get my average sized 9 week old in - I think we'll have to move the straps soon. It does go through batteries fairly quickly, but that's to be expected really. One thing I might change about this is to add hooks to the frame so that other toys can be hung up. My baby got bored of the pre-existing toys quite soon.Overall, I'd recommend this chair

My nephew loves this baby swing and so do I. It really does seem well-designed and well thought-out. It closes up and is easy to store which is great for Uncle. It's very sturdy and well-made. It serves as a seat and a swing. The seating is washable which is good to knowl. My nephew likes the two dangling toys which are nice and bright. He also seems to enjoy the swinging motion and the music. The swing has six pushbutton settings. I was worried the music option may not be that great because I recently had a Fisher-Price toy that played horrible loud 'lullabies'. I was pleasantly surprised to find the tunes, there are 10) are more suitable and, better still, there is a volume control.I've only been setting it to the lowest volume and have mostly been selecting the nature sounds (there are two of these) which you can't really go wrong with. The product description suggests that you can't use this item with any child that weighs more than 9 kg or that can sit up on its own.But it is perfect for a new baby.

Very happy with product. Baby did not like laying flat for long time due to early diagnosis of silent reflux which made being horizontal uncomfortable especially after feeds an issue. Suitable for young babies with easy 5 point harness and deep seat which is wipe clean baby enjoyed sitting comfortably. I found the swing speeds a good scale with a good choice of varied music and sounds (my daughter loved the nature sounds) which automatically switches off after a certain length of time. Also a handy clip so you and hold seat in place getting in or out or to hold happy at good angle if sleeping. My daughter also loved the bright colours and vibration feature.I chose this product for its ability to travel which it does and allows us to send it to grandparents with minimal fuss or dismantling. Allows for some hand free time even if its just to cook some food or give aching limbs a rest! Very precious as before this product i was not eating anything i couldnt prepare or eat one handed!

Love the colours, love the pattern, even love the sounds/music. Not impressed with the short length of time this can be used when you take into account the price. It states in the ad on Amazon that it can be used up to 25lbs (which is 11.3kg) however on the product itself it states 9kg which converts to 19.8lbs.Well padded seat that can be machine washed. The 5 point safety harness is very secure and mush better than the round the tummy ones on other models. The small floor space needed when the swim is being used is great but what is even better is the fact that it closes up to a sensible size and shape, unlike other models. Easy to store away making it an excellent idea for holidays, trips to grandparents house or to visit friends without feeling that you are taking over.Converts easily to a seat using a clip mechanism that is simple to use.The speed of the swing can take a bit of getting used to but we had no problems after the first few uses.

I am coming back to review this 3 years after I bought it initially. I have used it with my first and now using it with my second child and have been incredibly happy with it! It is sturdy yet compact folds to be stored when not needed and has worked like a treat for both of my children in these difficult first few months. They both loved the swing and have been falling asleep in it when nothing else except from holding them would smooth them. A lifeline for busy mums needing to do some housework at any point of the day. Also an absolute lifesaver when they had a stuffy nose or vomiting for keeping them upright!!! I feel it is very helpful for the first few months of baby’s life and I would recommend it.My batteries lasted for months as I was not constantly using the swing or vibration and I would switch them off when baby has fallen asleep. My babies didn’t care much for the vibration mode though. Overall very happy with these swing

RAINFOREST==========It's called a rainforest but I'd call it a jungle. Lions and blue elephants. I don't know why, but babies love it.ROCKER======It can rock whilst playing lullaby type tunes. It also has a clip at the back that can be clicked into place which then makes the swing more rigid and stable. The tunes are quite soothing and can help get the baby off to sleep. Can be rocked fast or slow. (6 speeds in all)RESTRAINT=========Do they don't fall out there's a 5-point fabric restraint.FOLDS UP=========It's able to fold up and is space saving. particularly if you are a house full of toys, it's nice to be able to make some space.WASHABLEMachine washable seat. It's easier to simply wipe it though after any substantial mess.AGE===I'd say up to a year/18 months.WELL MADE=========It's well made, colourful and most babies will adore it.If you're after a swing or a seat this is one to consider.Hope this helps.

This is a great baby swing and seat. Easy to deploy, and just as easy to pick up to take away for easy transport between your house and the grandparents. Despite this and being quite light, it still feels solid and sturdy. The motorised swing is a great addition. Never minded swinging with my foot with the old model we had, but whenever I stopped to get up and grab a cup of tea or anything else our little one would cry. Now with this I don't have to worry about that in the future! The lowest speed is still a bit fast in my opinion, but only a minor gripe. The sounds and vibration feature are also quite nice, but we haven't used these features so much.In terms of safety, apart from feeling sturdy,it has a 5 point harness to secure your baby to give you complete piece of mind. All in all, this is a great piece of equipment. Recommended for any baby that finds rocking soothing

How much value can you place on getting your hands back?? This is worth every penny and my baby is calmed by the music and soothed by the vibrations. He often falls asleep in it, which is brilliant for me because I can get on with tasks knowing he is secure and happy.I tend to dangle other objects from the animal characters (such as my babys Lamaze toys) to make it interesting for him to play.Oh and the colours are lovely and jolly ... I find it nice to look at and have around the house. My only issue with it is that the seat doesn't stay upright very well..my baby's weight tends to knock the seat position back into the recline position.... And he isn't even that heavy! It's not too much of a problem though as the recline position is what we need most of the time anyway. Would recommend this to every parent. Wish we got it earlier

Any parent knows, time for baby to relax safe and sound, is time well spent all round. Fisher-Price have good history with swing seats and whilst they aren't usually the cheapest brand, they are well made and attractive. This Take Along does fold neatly to store away if you need to, though most will keep it in situ. Its multi songs and swing speeds make for a comfort ride that adjusts to weight apparently. It's reasonably solid too so should last a few knocks and offspring too. Questionable is the ultimate lifespan from new born to just about 12 months based on weight guidance at 9kg - so don't even begin to think about putting an 18 month in it.The attached toys are cursory as they usually are in these products.A good swinger and a step up from other recent FP designs.

My grandson loves it. Its great that it folds, as it means my daughter can take it whenever she comes to visit me, without taking up tons of room in the car. It vibrates and swings, and has a choice of sounds and volume. Plus it can also be put in a stationery position with one simple clip, which will be great for when he is being weaned and you don't have room to take a bulky high chair to visit family or fiends. The only problem we've found is keeping his big sister from sneakily trying it out... Please remember to buy batteries at the same time though, as this does not come with any, which is a real shame and caught us short. Nowadays most things come with the initial batteries,so was rather disappointed this didn't. Not a deal breaker though.

Actually baby George isn't saying anything, but his parents are delighted with this. Of obvious good quality and with the reassuring Fisher-Price brand name, this swing is ideal for a baby under 12 months, and should still be good for the next arrival. I can't really add anything to the product description and what previous reviewers have said, but I do want to emphasise that it's genuinely and easily portable. You can chuck it in the back of the car (not with baby in!) and you've got somewhere to stow the infant when he's visiting Nana or whoever, and the harness will keep him safe from tumbles.I just can't imagine any purchaser being seriously disappointed,so I don't hesitate to recommend it.
