Right then, we bought this for our 8 year old having read all the reviews we thought it sounded fairly straightforward. It probably would have been for most people but DIY is not our thing.A lot of the reviews talk about sinking the bars into plastic pipe so they can be removed easily. This is why we went ahead and bought it. We didn’t want to be left with the bars when they were no longer wanted and so knowing they could be removed if we used the piping nailed the deal.My husband dug the holes. They have to be deep to stabilise the bar, 35cm square across, 50cm deep. It’s a lot of excess soil hence £10 on good quality rubble sacks from B n Q.You could probs get them cheaper but it was 3.40pm on a Sunday and we were desperate as we’d not anticipated all this soil when we started ?So holes dug and at this point we were doing ok.....Our first mistake was buying the 50mm plumbing piping for £11 from screwfix. You can just about get the bars into it but you won’t get them out again which kinda defeats the object so the right thing to do was go to City Plumbing and ask for some 2inch solvent weld pipe. It fits perfectly and cost £6.Next mistake, Post Crete. DON’T USE IT! These bars need to be solid and post Crete allows for too much movement. That wasn’t the mistake though, the mistake was spending £20 on 3 bags of post crete, still not having enough so going back to B n Q and having taken advice from B n Q man spend a further £38 on ready made concrete (just add water). My stepdad said we could have got the concrete for half the price if we’d got him to get it (you live and learn). Anyway 5 days later after spending £75, much bickering, a trip to screwfix, a trip to city plumbing, countless trips to b n q, lots of rain in-between the bars are up!They are sturdy and much loved by our 8 year old gymnast! Now when we’re sat having a cuppa and watching how much enjoyment she gets we say it was absolutely worth it. It probs should have only cost £30 to fit but like I say only if you’re up to the job, if you’re not get your dad, mum, uncle, neighbour, mate or someone else to do it and save yourself the headache!

OK, it's been now 2 weeks and I find better informed that when these bars arrived in a box.Dispatch was amazingly quick and it was all very well packed.Instruction sheet was really insufficient. I mean a disaster. Comments from other users said it was very easy to put together. Lucky them. It made IKEA assembly process look luxurious. I did sweat a fair amount (which I do not in usual circumstances). One of the vertical bars needed bolts in holes that in my case they were a couple of milimetres ill-measured from each other. The good one took about a couple of minutes to put together. The other one about three hours in which I was considering to send it back. One adult was enuogh for the first one,the second bar needed three (the clever one that thinks that knows how this works, one that is slightly forcing the differents parts for them to coincide and the one that looks like a bomb disposal expert trying to fiddle its way through). After the initial setback, those that commented in amazon seem to find very easy a) to dig two holes in which you could bury your largest enemy (not that you would!) and b) buy/use the correct amount of cement mixture for this. I started going to the shop to buy one bag. After 3 trips, I ended up buying 6. SIX ! You have to buy a spirit level if you don't have one already and you need a recepient in which to mix the cement with water before chulking it out in the holes as I discovered you mix this directly into the hole and run out of cement mixture it is very difficult to calculate how much you need for the next round on top.Two days later the bar was securely grounded. My daughter, who is on the heavy-side of things, has been jumping on it doing all sorts of demonic jumps, twists and turns (I even thought it was a vodoo bar that had possessed her). The bar is still standing firm like the first day I managed to declare the building works over.Worth every single penny already. Together with the trampoline it is the only two objects that are taking my daughter away from her tablet.

Easy to fit:- DeTurf grass area 40cm x 50cm and dig hole 50cm deep.- Use a 70cm bit of FloPlast ABS Solvent Weld Waste Pipe 50mm. Hammer a large nail through the very bottom (about 20 cm at end of the 70mm Waste Pipe ) got pipe mentioned above from plumbnation.co.uk- Use a mallet to hammer 20cm of the 70cm waste pipe into the 50cm hole that was dug.- Place bars inside the Waste Pipe, and check with spirit level. ( Bars fit perfectly inside Waste Pipe )- Fill 1/3 of hole with water and add 3 x (20KG blue Circle Postcrete ) per hole. ( 6 x 20KG bags )I used a 13Litre black builders bucket per hole,so fill 1/3 of hole with bucket and use the rest when addingextra bags- Mix with a large wooden pole and add small amounts of water.- Leave for 30 mins then place the de-turfed piece of grass over the concrete.- Bars can then easily be removed and replaced if needed

This has been in our garden now for about 8 months and gets daily use from a budding gymnast! In order to make removal easier i sank a couple of plastic tubes into the concrete in the ground and this just drops in and is 100% stable but can be removed if necessary, much better than concreting straight in.There is no movement on the bars and it is extremely stable, i have no bad things to say about it at all - our gymnast is now 12 and still not using the very top bar most odd the time so it is suitable for a pretty wide range i think. Also, despite being outside since the Spring there are no signs of rust at all, everything still looks great so i can heartily recommend this item.

Fantastic item, we bought it for our daughter who is an avid gymnast. We are trialling it without any concrete and have made sure the supporting poles have gone a good meter in the ground - so far so good. Our daughter was out in the garden yesterday at 6.30am practising her moves and she has not left it alone since - it's still solid in the ground! It's a great idea that the bar can be moved to differing heights - the only down side is that my older son has now decided he wants one - and we bought the last one :O( !!

My daughter does competition gymnastics and it can stand up to some vigorous swinging about on it. Installation just involves some hard-work: digging, cementing and patience while it sets. The height of the bar is easy to adjust - although we already have it on the tallest setting and probably won't use the lower ones and our daughter is quite small at 1m30. Still, you wouldn't want it much higher as if someones does fall off it from that height head first - it wouldn't be very nice.

My 7 year old daughter loves this. The only issue I would say is that because so much of the poles have to be securely fitted into the ground with cement (a necessity) -she is not able to do full turns on the bar -she would definitely need the higher extension for this. (She is an avid gymnast) Having said this, she has been on it every day since she received it as a gift from Santa! I will be ordering the extension as a surprise for her. Great product.

Daughter loves it - well made and very stable when in use. I found plastic pipe at city plumbing which is about 53mm so fits perfect. See attached photos on how I installed it. Used postfix from wickes to cement into ground. Note leave fully assembled when concrete is setting otherwise pipe diameter reduces a little! I also used the two metal pins to stop the bar inserts from hitting the actual ground. Hardest part was digging the holes!

Like others I have mounted mine in plastic pipe. I got 50mm flopast pipe from screwfix and the poles fits inside snugly but will allow me to remove the bars if needed. I made my holes slightly bigger than advised. Mine are about 40cm x 50cm and dug them a bit deeper at 60cm. I used postcrete to fix each pole and each of my holes took 3 x 20kg bags - 6 bags in total. Thought this might be useful info for other buyers.

Bought for my 7 year old bday as she is obsessed with gymnastics. Dig hole 35cm x 35cm. 50cm deep. Got my pipe from city plumbing 52mm pipe. Perfect tight fit. Did first hole and left pipe in whilst drying with 3 bags of postcrete in. Once dried assembled fully so I knew where other hole is to be dug and did same again. Make sure spirit level used all the time to keep everything straight

Takes a couple of days to get it set in the ground but well worth it in the end. Perfect exercise and entertainment piece for the kids. Good investment. I would buy it while the kids are quite young so they have the use of it for many years. The height is adjustable. Would recommend. Ours has been in situ for 2 years now and it is exactly the same condition as it was at new.

Seems to be a solid, well made product though as with other reviewers we found some variations in finish and dimensions. Installed using the plastic pipe method described by others. The key bit of extra information is that you need 50mm solvent weld pipe (e.g. Floplast available from Screwfix), 50mm push fit pipe is smaller diameter and doesn't work.

Really pleased with this purchase. We bought a return but was perfect apart from one washer missing but for much less than the full retail price. I think the full price was too expensive and I wouldnt have paid that much but its sturdy and my daughter loves it.Do make sure you cement it securly into the ground however otherwise it will rock

Best thing we have brought our 5 year old daughter this year. She plays on it constantly. We brought poles which we concreted in the ground to secure the poles into so that they can be removed. You do need to dig very deep holes and insure you cement them in for safety.Would highly recommend. We also brought a safely mat to place underneath.

Managed to get this for a great price after keeping it in my basket and watching for a price drop. It’s great. Took a bit of installing, used 200kg of post Crete but that’s not the products fault, my partner dug the holes to big & he wanted to make sure it was secure & wasn’t going anywhere. My daughter is out playing in it everyday.
