I specialise in drawing detailed pencil work to order and have been looking for an eraser to remove tiny dots of pencil or similar from paper, often to create fine highlights. I had been managing this issue by cutting slivers of eraser from eraser blocks which was both messy and wasteful and did not always give the precision I wanted. I bought this item having read some of the reviews, which suggested this eraser may provide a better solution to the problem. In the main, I am pleased with this eraser as it did the job I required in most cases, so I would buy it again. But I did find that once the factory-produced fine point had worn down, I was unable to reproduce the same degree of point with a standard sharpener,so occasionally, I do have to resort back to my blade and either pare the point down or use slivers of eraser from a block. The eraser itself has a semi-hard consistency, so it stands up well to having pressure applied and I did not experience any smudging. There are a few fine fibres shed when used on paper.

I've recently begun exploring oil-based coloured pencils and needed an eraser to completely and accurately remove them. I had hoped this would completely remove layered dark colours without damaging the paper and to my delight it does. It resharpens perfectly using the Kum metal sharpener for 7mm and 9mm pencils that I already had for the fatter and jumbo Faber - Castell pencils I own.It even came nicely packaged in a stout clear tube to protect it. So I am delighted and look forward to getting bright highlights and tidy edges. it is well made, works well and I recommend it.

As others have noted, this eraser is best used for small areas. It is also too hard for use on some papers (disastrous on the Khadi paper I was foolish enough to try it on, for example). For erasing small areas on a fairly firm paper, however, it’s brilliant. It even erased watersoluble graphite that had been wetted and dried, though the manufacturer says that these pencils are not erasable once wetted: the highlighted areas I had erroneously washed over re-appeared after some careful scrubbing with this eraser. Brilliant!

Thought I'd get this eraser as I wanted one to get into tiny areas in adult colouring books.I am thrilled with it and have found it works really well with many types of coloured pencils. I have been using a Faber Castell triple sharpener which gives a good point. It is necessary to clean it after each use and colour change or it will smudge due to a build up of colour residue on the tip. To do this I've been using a paper towel.I think this is a brilliant product and I will be ordering it again.

I had a very similar eraser years ago, and since moving I didnt bring it with me. I realised I was missing this tool, and I am now so happy to have it again! The hard composition of the eraser and the fact that I can sharpen it makes creating highlights or erasing small details so easy, and I highly recommend this type of eraser.I found it slightly annoying that two was the minimum order, but it saves me buying another one in a couple years I guess!

I started painting using an airbrush and was watching some tutorial videos where people were using this pencil/rubber.It allows you to add some really nice dimensions and details to artwork.I found it did not work well on normal paper, I had to press really hard and almost tears the paper. I used glossy type paper and it works much better, it sort of glides across the gloss finish rather than tear through it.

It takes a lot of rubber to remove a small amount of ink so only suitable for small areas of detail after using perhaps a sand eraser. Nevertheless, it does remove ink accurately, if slowly. The one I got did not have the little end brush mentioned in the description and shown in the photograph so there is something wrong there. I am having to use a small paint brush instead.

Not a lot more to say, really. I was concerned about ordering more than one (as in, I did not want to order a pack of them) in case they weren't up to much. I would say. if you're an artist then you can feel confident about ordering this product; it does what it supposed to. No smudges on the paper. (This is actually my arty wife's review that I am relaying here).

This is a great pencil style eraser. I use it for sharpening up the edges of my art work. Slightly gritty but it doesn't dig through the paper if you apply it with a light hand. Also easy to sharpen to a small point for even more accurate removal of graphite or charcoal mistakes, and the brush doesn't smudge my work when using it to remove the bits.

This is a brilliant product. Im a hyperrealistic artist so this is a vital tool for my work. The only minor problem I have with this is how to sharpen it. I have found that using a pensil sharpener is not the most effective method, using sand paper is much better. This is only a very minor thing thought. Brilliant product nonetheless.

It does its job. The eraser part of the pencil is harder than I imagined, it feels as if you are rubbing very hard on the paper, but so far no holes. It arrived on time. I took a star away because it was not packed very well and arrived broken in half.

Excellent for biros. Not quite so good for fountain pen ink, because as the ink soaks in the paper a great deal more, the more paper you remove when erasing. So, when going over that piece again you just get a messy text.

Excellent product, I use it to remove overspray and mistakes when airbrushing my trinket boxes. Don't know how I ever managed without one before. Not that I make many mistakes you understand....cough, cough, sorry!!! ;-)

Great for clearing small shavings off your artwork and not a bad eraser for coloured pencils - will erase a lot of marks but not all so you still need to be careful but this does a better job that most erasers.

Seriously, I love it. It's pencil shape makes it easier to erase a line, without erasing everything near the line, and the brush gets rid of the scrapings. Every artist or draughtsperson should have one.
