My wife uses notebooks throughout the day. She has written in them with the same fountain pen for about 20 years but, having broken the clip a few months ago, she has tried using several new pens but the ink flow and the nibs have proved unsuitable. I persuaded her to try my propelling pencil but she found the writing too feint. So I went online, saw the Faber-Castell, ordered it and my wife has found it near enough perfect for her needs. The lead, which is quite resilient, can be retracted easily, the 1.4mm width makes the writing easy to read and the grip is both effective and comfortable. Another bonus is that, unlike a pen, it does not flood or smudge.

I was looking for a clicker pencil for my Dad as he always uses cheap plastic ones and came across this Faber-Castell. After reading so many glowing reviews I decided to buy him a couple and myself one as well. I am extremely pleased with my purchase, the pencil is very well made and is very comfortable to write with. The clicker is solid and doesn't feel like it will break or anything and it come with an eraser on the end which you can twist like lipstick and it extends. He will get his at Christmas and I am sure he will be happy.

Bought this for doing my killer sudoku puzzles. They are in books which have that soft, rough type of paper and I kept finding that the 0.7mm leads in the throw-away pencils kept snagging on the paper, resulting in snapping the lead or piercing the paper. This pencil, however, is perfect for the job! The 1.4mm lead is soft enough to cope with the paper and the rubber height can be adjusted with a quick twist, so it is always at the optimum length. The feel is comfortable, too, with the fat grip. Love it!

Good quality propelling pencil with extra thick 1.4mm lead. Very comfortable to useand unlike other pencils with thinner leads,no annoying breakages every time youpress hard. Handy eraser which you can twist in and out, (and get replacements for)Only thing that I found a problem was just one grade of lead (grade B) is supplied andI would have preferred something even softer like grade 2B, so that I could use it forpencil sketching as well as writing

This pencil is fabulous. Thought it was bit pricey at first it is only a pencil afterall. Not so. This is lovely in the hand to use, nice and wide. The lead does not slip ever! The rubber on the end works really well. This delivers on all the things you hoped previous mechanical pencils would and didn't. My husband now wants one too.A nice treat that quickly becomes a daily favourite.

I must say this is the BEST mechanical pen I have ever purchased. I was surprised with the quality of the this product, makes the writing so smooth and protects my middle finger of hurting my callus as previous ones used to do. I spent money on expensive mechanical pens, but this one has been the best so far. I agree with previous customers review, I highly recommend this one

Perfect! I have artificial joints in two fingers on my right hand due to arthritis. The chunky barrel and rubber grip is perfect. Added bonus - I can actually read my writing as it no longer looks like a demented spider crawling along paper! Supremely comfortable and a joy to use. Wish I had discoverd this pencil sooner. I also bought the matching pen. Five stars from me.

As a Kitchen Fitter I seem to spend half my time sharpening pencils. The lead on this is large enough to cope with marking smooth & rough wood / melamine, etc. without breaking all the time.Bought 2 on spec, and really glad I did.Comes with a couple of spare leads in barrel of pencil.

I am a designer and I own a number of these pencils, and decided to treat myself to the thicker 1.4mm lead too. They are very comfortable to use, sturdy and reliable and the thicker version is just great. You can always rely on the F-C quality and this product is no different.

I bought this pencil for my 9 year old son who finds it uncomfortable to grip a standard sized pencil which makes his handwriting awful! With this pencil, the improvement is huge, and he's happy as he feels he has a really 'cool' pencil!! Definitely worth the extra expense.

Brilliant item - has been going strong now for six weeks and still on the original lead and eraser.Much more robust than disposable pencils with inadequate erasers and leads that break easily.Ideal for 'puzzlers'.

Love this pencil. Never thought I could love a pencil so much. It writes beautifully and rubs out great too. Ordering another for my teenage daughter as she loves it too. The blue is a lovely colour one.

I am an Architect of 30 years in the business and this the best pencil I've ever used.Pity they don't do it in 5mm.I did write and ask them about it.The 5mm pencil's not bad either.

A must, a joy, for those that like to use a propelling lead pencil but are fed up with the lead snapping. Very attractive with a handy eraser incorporated in the design.

Very nice pencil, faber castell at its best, nice and thick with a rubber grip and over sized leads that also sharpen into a nice point for detailed drawings. Very good.
