Not bad, but could be better. The mechanism seems to function well, each click advances the lead about 0.8mm which is a nice amount. It comes with three leads.Likes:+ Very comfortable rubber grip shaped like a slightly triangular section tube with rounded edges (the rest of the body of the pencil is of round cross-section)+ Long eraser, just over 1 inch (25mm) long+ The tip of the pencil looks sturdy and it retracts tooDislikes:- There is some slight lateral play in the end of the pencil lead. When I move it with my finger, I can feel the lead slightly moves, and the retractable portion slightly moves too. It is not much, but noticeable.- Since there is no cap for the eraser,

Loved this pencil and used it constantly, then after about 6 weeks it fell apart, the threaded joint in the middle of the pencil had lost its thread. I tried to screw it back together, but it was impossible, there was so little thread. So i taped it together and it works just fine, just doesn't look so good. That is my only reason for dropping one star Hope no one else has this problem. Hope Castell improve the thread in the future.I bought this pen from an art store I was browsing at the time, had I bought it from amazon I would have been able to send it back. This is the exact same pen.

Good quality writing implement. I should have gone for a 0.7 as these 0.5 leads break a little too easily but the pencil itself is well made and feels solid and comfortable in the hand. The eraser removes by rotating the end of the pencil, rather like a chapstick, allowing access to refill the leads, it is a little fiddly to put the eraser back in. I increasingly find I favour mechanical pencils for note taking and daily carry. This is one where the point detracts making it less awkward to keep in a pocket than something like a uniball koru toga or graphgear pencil.

I was looking for a clicker pencil for my Dad as he always uses cheap plastic ones and came across this Faber-Castell. After reading so many glowing reviews I decided to buy him a couple and myself one as well. I am extremely pleased with my purchase, the pencil is very well made and is very comfortable to write with. The clicker is solid and doesn't feel like it will break or anything and it come with an eraser on the end. He will get his at Christmas and I am sure he will be happy.

I bought this to use with a pad when doing maths calculations. The soft lead with 0.7mm is perfect for writing quickly without too much pressure. The lead doesn't slip or move which it does on some other pens. The pen doesn't feel particularly well made though, for example the uncovered rubber (eraser) poking out of the top looks cheap. That said, I have used the pencil a lot for the last few days and it is holding up ok.

Perfect precision writing tool. I use with 2B leads for the ultimate neat annotation instrument.I dont tend to mark in/ write in my books unduly, so when I do want to write notes in margins I want it to be subtle, clear and not take up space.This is precision pencil, a joy to hold and use. I'm encouraged to write with this pencil available

This is so incredibly comfortable to hold. I'm an artist and use this pencil for a considerable amount of hours at a time and I've not once had a stiff hand or wrist. The lead is smooth and glides easily across the page and canvas. I can't rave about this enough. It's a beautiful pencil and an excellent price. I'm very, very happy with it.

I draw and sketch a lot and find mechanical pencils to be much less messy and easier to control. These are just unbeatable in terms of longevity and quality. All you need to rebuy are the refills occasionally. only bought this one because I misplaced the same one i have had for 10 years during a move.

I use this for sketching on the go so I don't need to find a bin to sharper my regular sketching pencils. For what I use it for it is 10/10. The led is also great quality, different brands in the past have snapped mid use but this one is excellent. The eraser is also top quality.

A pleasure to sketch with to be honest, especially if you prefer the thinner pencil.It's a fantastic quality build, and feels good in your hand. I would say that the rubber didn't live up to much though.Just make sure you buy the right size graphite.

I absolutely love this pencil. It's got a beautiful grip and it draws very smooth. It's light enough that I don't get hand cramp when used for a while..... too bad my puppy jumped on my desk and chewed it! I'm buying myself two more!

Brilliant for small intricate drawings!Definitely worth the money!Make sure you buy the correct refills though as others don't work as well as the faber-castell ones!Buying more in other sizes!

I have had one of these since highschool. Unfortunately I recenetly lost it, so I replaced it. Very comfortable to hold and very durable. Best mechanical pencils in my opinion.

This seems to be a pretty good pencil. I like the fact the rubber not only can be replaced, but by twisting the top can extend. Arrived in just a simple plastic bag.

All I need to say is that I now have 3 of these in different colours. One for the office, one for home and one for my work bag for when I'm travelling. Love them.
