As a guitarist for over 25 years, I was pleased when my 7 year old son decided that he wanted to take it up. Looked at quite a few potential options, but this one looked like good value for money. As others have mentioned, it's a good size for smaller fingers and importantly, the strings can be pressed down onto the fretboard without much effort. The action (string distance from the neck) is very good for kids - low enough without much buzzing.The sound is pretty good for the price point. Others have suggested that it goes out of tune fairly easily. It does go out of tune a little sooner than most, but the most important first lesson for the new guitarist is how to tune and more you do that early on,

This is a nice-looking guitar, and fine for a complete beginner which my 8-year-old son is. If he keeps playing, we will get him a better one, like a Yamaha, when he needs a full-size guitar. We find it needs tuning every time he picks it up, but we are hoping this will improve in time when the strings get used to being stretched to the right place. Having the case is a very useful addition, which we would have had to have spent extra on otherwise.The delivery time was excellent - almost the next day, so we would recommend the seller.

Bought this guitar for my 10 year old daughter who starts a new hobby almost every week!! I wanted a guitar that would last a while if she stayed with it but not too expensive in case she didn't.The Encore fits the bill perfectly.It needed re-tuned regularly for the first few days because of the nylon strings but settled down after a week or so. It plays well with a deep,rich sound and has a nice low action.Excellent first guitar.

I purchased this for a 7yr old. The guitar arrived well packaged.It looks and feels good quality. The case is well made too. The Dvd and book that comes with the guitar is ideal and now my child has started lessons at school.An excellent first guitar. Though it is worth buying one of those electronic tuners that you can purchase through Amazon.

i haven't purchased this yet but im thinking about getting it for my son for christmas.this is going to sound a bit strange but does anyone have the actual dimensions of the box that it comes in as i live in cyprus and need to find out how much it would cost me to ship from my sisters uk address.Thanks

We bought this for our 8 year old daughter as a starter instument. It is a serious guitar and is frequently borrowed by her older brothers as a practice instument. The clincher is that the extras supplied in the set (case and pitch pipes) would cost a fair bit if bought separately.Highly recommended.

On opening up this present our grandson said it was the best present ever, he had no knowledge of it before his birthday. When we saw it for the 1st time we were so impressed with the quality of this guitar we would recommend it as a gift to any youngster.

Bought this guitar for a Christmas present for my 6yr old daughter. Have not used the item yet, but the size is ideal, the guitar seems well made and it comes with its own case, extra strings and tutorial DVD.Very pleased and quick delivery.

Bought this for my 10 year old daughter and she loves it.For the money, you can't really go wrong with this package.Only criticism, it doesn't stay in tune for very long, so i'm constantly having to tuneit for her again, but there you go.

its recommended guitar ideal for beginners.eventhough its difficult to tune in for the first time just grab yourself an electric tuner and it create a good sound.there is a bit damage only a little in the edge,but still works,thanks

Bought this guitar for my 9 year old son. The quality of the product is very good and of a high quality for the money paid. My son absolutely loves it, which is the main thing. He's always strumming away. Would definatly recommend.

Bought this for my son for guitar lessons at school, he's happy with it and so is his guitar teacher. It sounds fine for an entry level guitar. It arrived in just a couple of days, before the expected date, so that was good too.

Bought this for my 7 year old daughter - it's the perfect size and she's managing it well. DVD was a bit too advanced for her to follow though, but with lessons this is a great starter kit, would recommend!

I just started taking guitar lessons and I am very happy with the Encore guitar. Is easy to tune when you've learned how to do it, is light and manageable for a beginners. Very happy with the product.

What a lovely bit of kit for the price,Ideal for my 9 years old Grandson to learn on,he'll be able to learn on it for a few years then sell it on for more than I paid for it,can't go wrong really?
