This has a nice sturdy box great for storage which doesnt fall apart after 2 mins. The frame is strong plastic and the legs remove and reattacheasily. The bottom bar the stop the red and yellow pieces through slots in place well and doesn't easily move so no chance of the pieces falling out with a knock to the table. Just remember to attach the stop bar before the legs. The counters are thin and lightweight with very pronounced ridged edges so they are easy to hold so less of the oops that slipped into the wrong column problems. The game is 5 star and one of my old time favourites. The main problem with this particular set is it's possible to accidently wedge the counters in the game in the slats between the columns.I'm having to manually lever them out every day which is a bit irritating. Also you get no spare counters and after a couple of weeks we are already down 6 so it will be a bit unplayable before long.

This is just as fun as I remember from the 80's, and we have had great enjoyment playing this again with my kids age 5 and 8.The build quality is perfectly reasonable for the price. The frame quickly clips and easily together (easy for kids) and is very robust once build. Ours has stood up to the force of some enthusiast play that seems to go with the excitement that this game builds. The sliding mechanism for releasing the pieces at the end of the game works well and it's always fun to pick up the pieces ready for the next rematch. The frame is easily disassembled when you're done and packs easily back into the sturdy box for storage. While being a modern version of a traditional game which often goes wrong, this has managed to retain everything that made the original great. I highly recommend this for any child (or adult!)

This a timeless classic which is easy enough to grasp almost at once but surprisingly difficult to master. It’s far easier to play than even draughts and vastly simpler than the likes of chess and backgammon. Games only last a few minutes which is good for young kids with short attention spans! It’s a good introduction to strategic thinking which helps children to learn in an enjoyable context of a competitive challenge.I doubt you will ever need to look at the instructions or argue exactly what the rules are, which are my general experiences of most board or strategy games! This set is easy to put together and very simple to play with. You just slide the bar at the bottom to release all the discs when you are ready to start a new game.Otherwise, take turns to drop the discs in the top and try and connect four.

Connect 4 is a great game for children aged around 5+, encouraging basic strategic thinking. The game is well-made for the most-part. It is all plastic, with legs that must be attached and removed each time to fit back in the box. The tokens are all plastic too and are tough and good quality. The only downside is the unnecessary and poorly-designed release mechanism for the tokens. It has a tendency to break, rendering the game unplayable - I have seen countless examples of this and yet the design remains the same. Why can't we just tip it upside-down to empty it, like when I was a kid? I suspect it is simply a ploy to sell more.

Connect 4 is one of those great classic games that endures in the face of the new age of computer gaming and electronics. It has that special formula that makes it a must for all families. Its simple to play ...no huge book of rules to learn anyone can play it within a minute. Its pits players against each other ...far better than playing a lifeless computer character. Best of all it appeals to all ages. Great for kids to play together on rainy days. Great for adults to play when there's nowt on TV. Great for the whole family to play together on those annual get togethers like Christmas. Great fun!

This has always been one of the go-to games of our summer cottage holidays when I was a kid. It's easy to transport, easy to learn (but can be hard to win) and has no complicated instructions for when you just want to relax. Kids and adults can play and although you can try to make a master plan, the sometimes randomness of the opposition's moves may mean that you have to change strategy several times in one game.I'm glad to now have it in my home and we had a great time when we broke it out for a few games last night.

Connect Four is a classic and a great game for any age to enjoy. This version seems to have been improved by better quality and thicker plastic making it sturdier than before. My kids like it, but I also think it would be a great game for developing fine motor skills and problem solving for the young adults with additional needs I work with and also those with dementia to keep the mind active. Great, no fuss game which can appeal to many.

So this feels a bit smaller than I recall it but honestly have so many great memories of playing with friends and at school. The premise is simple - beat your opponent to getting 4 in a row, with your coloured discs. It's a simple design and easy to use. Fairly portable at this size so you could take it away for a rainy day on holiday... looking forward to playing again and hope my kids will enjoy it as much as we did.

This is really good and the general theme is pretty much the same as the original one. I have really enjoyed playing this with the kids its a great little retro game for the family. The only thing I have been a bit disappointed about is it just doesnt feel as good quality as the original. Just seems a bit cheap and poorly made in comparison but still, the general game is still there and I have loved playing it again.

Bought as a game to entertain my elderly mother. It has been a success, as we can play for 30-45 minutes. I didn't give it 5 stars because the original game had a swing bar to release the counters at the end of a game. This one comes with a slider, which isn't fixed to the body and therefore feels a cheaper construction.Given the hours of entertainment that we have had from it, I feel this has been a good buy.

You can't beat a game of connect 4 right? This is a classic quality game enjoyed by everyone and although you're not likely to want to play it for hours on end, it's always good to bring out when boredom strikes :DThis is a quick n' easy game to play with quality pieces. Although my 4 year old daughter is fast becoming the household champ much to the dismay of my 9 year old.

Works fine but it’s hard to see when the mechanism is shut and it’s easy to get the discs jammed in the top of the first and last column.Sometimes you get some stuck discs when you release them all.The discs are quite light and have a weird wavy edge, probably to reduce the amount of plastic used.Overall it’s cheap and you can make it work so no real complaints.

Doesn’t really need explanation. It’s Hasbro, it’s well made. I did buy a non-branded version a few years ago from a well known Toy store and it was poorly made albeit very cheap. It wasn’t worth the hassle as the lower bar kept coming loose. The Hasbro version may be slightly more expensive but it doesn’t fall apart and it’s still great value for money.

Great fun but my daughters (aged 10 & 7) don't really like playing each other as the eldest pretty-much always wins; the youngest has yet to develop a strategy! It's easy to set up and play and it fits back in its box with some minor dismantling.I've removed a star because the counters can sometimes jam and there are no spares.

We love a good game - and HASBRO have such a fantastic range for all ages.CONNECT 4 is a fabulous tactical game for 2 players. Nothing electronic can beat the fun and enjoyable interaction of 2 players vying for the magical 4 in a row - language skills, fine motor skills and fun. It's great.
