We bought this guitar for my daughter's 6th BirthdayIt's the perfect size for her (was contemplating getting the 3/4 size, but I'm happy I stuck with this one.The sound is nice and warm, and the strings seem to be replacable. The strings supplied need to be stretched though - that would be the only gripe I have with the guitar. Unless you stretch the strings, you'll constantly have to keep on re-tuning them. Then again, the more you re-tune them, the longer they'll hold their tuning.The guitar has a nice finish and is made from decent materials, although a scratch guard would have been a nice touch.Normans offered an amazingly fast turnaround considering I bought it late in the evening,
We are over the moon with this guitar. After reading all the previous reviews I thought this is a must have guitar. Absolutely spot on for our 7 year old who is just starting out with lessons. We have a full size guitar but it is just too big for her to learn on (she'll grow in to it) but this one is a perfect size. Her tutor totally agrees. he says it is solid & well made with good sound.The service we recieved was brillant! We ordered on the Saturday evening and it arrived(perfectly packaged)just after lunchtime on Tuesday. Wow! how's that for service? I would definately recommend this guitar and it's seller. Thankyou! :)
This is my 3rd beginner guitar - 2 children requiring different sizes and I've been inspired to have a go too! This fits my 7 year old son really well - he's not exactly long of limb so the half size is better. This is much the best of the 3, all similarly priced, instruments. Nice tone. Stays in tune better than either of the others - though always some stretching with nylon strings to start with. Lovely deep lustrous colour and nice finish. What's not to love? Wish I'd bought this first then we'd all have them!Norman's great service too - arrived within 2 days with a 1 hour delivery slot.
This guitar is great value for money. The tone of the instrument is way in advance of what you might expect for the price. It is slightly more expensive than some of the starter guitar packs for children but much better quality. Expect to need to retune each day for the first two weeks as the strings and guitar settle down, but after that it stays in tune pretty well. A perfect sized guitar for my seven year old and easy to start to learn to play.
I was encouraged to buy by the previous review. This is a great beginner's guitar - it has a good sound and is easy to play. Unlike many entry level guitars this one comes with a case - very practical for guitar lessons - and once you factor in the free shipping aswell it is the cheapest I have come across. Despite the price it feels like a quality item and has a nice finish. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a first guitar for a child.
I've been playing for many years and this has got to be the best beginners guitar I have ever come across. The intonation across the fretboard is pretty much spot on. It is of very good build quality and was very well packaged. An added bonus I didn't realise when ordering is that it comes with a guitar bag that is of decent quality. My son has started learning on it already and he is finding it very confortable to play.
What a surprise when this arrived. Was taken aback by the quality of this guitar for the price. Bought for 7 year old daughter for Christmas so she is yet to see it. If she doesn't like it I'm having it. The case is a dull pink and seems quite thick so can't see it ripping (other cases my friends have had costing £10-£15 have been thin and flimsy). Would definitely recommend and won't get better quality for price
Very nice colour, the bag for the guitar. I was disappointed that the bag for the guitar does not have a pocket to keep the papers from the guitar lessons and a strap to carry the guitar on my shoulders. Our other guitar came with a bag that has a pocket on the outside and two straps to carry the guitar. This cover for the guitar only has one handle in one side.
Absolutely fine for young child from 6 upwards. The guitar does need to be retuned often for the first few weeks but that seems to be normal. The soft case that is included is fairly tight (my little one initially had trouble putting the guitar in) and unfortunately does not have any extra pockets for music books or sheets. Am generally happy with the purchase.
This is an excellent little guitar. Size wise it is perfect for my 5yr old (although he is tall for his age). It has a lovely rich sound, and feels well made. We are still retuning before each use but I would expect this with a new set of strings. Overall I don't think you can go far wrong for the price. Very pleased.
