We'd got 2 other brands of a similar lamp, for desks and bedside tables. This one is the best.The Good:Sturdy & well balanced designLight switch easy to use and reach (big plus)1.5m lead with euro plug in a UK plug 'cover' (1 screw off to convert, nice!)Screw fitting big enough for an economy fluorescent bulbShade easily adjusts to change light intensity and throwThe not so excellent:It's a kind of thin brassy plastic finish over some kind of metal core. No impact on the 'heft' which is weighty enough, but a bit plasticky looking-feeling to be honest.So I'd buy another if I needed one, yes: I'm not able to pay for real brass and can't find that quality anyway. The Pull-switch under the lamp shade is a real deal maker,

This is my third Banker Brass Base Lamp by Eglo.. with green glass shade.. The two previous lamps have opal shades. I was originally under the impression that a green shade would not emit sufficient light.. This is not the case light is subdued with a green shade . More light is emitted by tilting the shade.The appearance of the lamp with a green shade is exceptional. It considerably enhances the furniture in my study. I recommend purchase to anyone who wants to put the finishing touches in a chosen location.

Magnificent on all counts. It looks great,very stylish and illuminates my desk well. I particularly like the pull cord switch. Most convenient and pretty unique. Some reviewers have commented on the high shine gold finish as a negative. Its a matter of taste of course but I think that they are being a tad over-critical. Frankly I think it looks very elegant and better than the dreary tarnished brass look that some of these lamps sport. Highly recommended and delivery was well within the few days stated.

I am very pleased with this lamp. Delivery was fast, very well packaged. The lamp itself is very nice. I use it with an economy bulb (equivalent 60W), and it is perfect for my (large) desk. The green shade has very slight imperfections, which are to be expected. I was a bit weary of its shiny finish, but it is non-obtrusive. And the pull string really is the ultimate deal-breaker, both in terms of charm and practicality. Highly recommended.

I shopped around, really wanting to buy a genuine antique, but we must live to our means! This is a good compromise between quality and looks. It's a good weighty number and I like the pull chord, but you're paying for plastic over brass. Overall, a good product for us poor people.

I'm very happy with this lamp. Its bigger than I thought, about 35 cm tall and the base is around 15cm diameter.The pull cord is a great touch. Many modern versions of banker's lamps come with a normal lamp switch.It uses a normal screw cap bulb

Love, Love this product. So glad I paid that little bit extra for the pull cord on/off switch, makes all the difference. Arrived very well packaged and on time. The lamp looks amazing on my Victorian desk and could not be happier with it.

I have had this Banker's lamp a while now and am very pleased with it. I haven't even had to change a bulb yet.It is easy to clean especially with a microfiber cloth and I really like the pull on switch. Recommended.

I like the lamp a lot. However, the only issue I have is that the lamp came with a German plug, not a UK plug. Not sure why this happened. Luckily, I've got a German to UK adapter at hand, but I still find it strange.

just bloody wonderful, stylish and fancy as hellmy desk looketh fab! (i'd show you a pic but my desks a bloody mess)Anyhoo - trust me, its a sturdy, well made and beautiful bankers lampjust mind and get a bulb!

A solid construction with a glass lampshade. It has an authentic pull switch which gives it that real Banker's Lamp feeling. Very pleased with this product and looks great on my study desk.

Bought as present, looks great sat on a study desk. The pull cord on/off switch so much better than others with an inline switch. Looks better.Good value for money.

Classic style desk lamp that directs light where it is needed. Glass shade throws a beautiful warm green colour with clear white below.

Maybe it would have been better if it had been in Antique Gold as gold is a bit bright. But Love the Lamp !!
