I have never given a review on an item before, but was so impressed with this dehumidifier I had to write something. I have a fairly large three bedroom, three reception rooms, kitchen, bathroom, semi-detached home. The windows and outside facing walls in the bedrooms were constantly dripping with condensation. Opening up the windows did nothing to dispel the water that would rain down the windows and walls and I had mould growing on the window sills and certain areas of the wall. I was at breaking point and wanted my home destroyed by lightning so that it could be rebuilt to eliminate the single brick walls, which I was informed was causing the problem as they had no insulation to provide a barrier from the cold outside and the warmth from inside which resulted in the condensation, wet walls and dripping windows. To cut a long story short. After much researching and reading reviews on dehumidifiers, I purchased the EcoAir DC18 on Saturday, 12 November from Amazon and it arrived on Monday 14 November. My son turned the dehumidifier on whilst I was still at work and when I got home 4 hours later, I could immediately feel and smell the difference in the air. I went to bed with no water on the windows, dry to the touch walls and air smelling lighter and cleaner. We did not leave the dehumidifier on during the night and this morning was the first time in a very long time that I woke up to not a drop of water on any of the windows in the house and dry walls. I know this is only the first day of using the dehumidifier, but I am so impressed that it could make such a difference after only one day that I felt I had to write a review. I would not hesitate to recommend this system which, despite is moderate size, is so effective against dampness caused by condensation. It is also easy to use and understand the instruction booklet about all the different settings and the system itself is unobtrusive. Another plus is that it is quite quiet even on the stronger setting and after a while you don't even notice the sound of the fan. Admittedly, we did have the system on in the hallway, both upstairs and downstairs, but I do not think that it will cause a distraction if we had it on in the living room whilst watching the TV. At this moment in time, I am one very satisfied customer and extremely impressed with the EcoAir DC18 Dehumidifier and the very quick delivery service.

Wish we had bought this years ago! Only had it yesterday and in 14 hours this has gathered 4.5 pints of water in our bungalow. We used moisture traps before but this machine is vastly superior. It is smaller than expected; in fact it is a very neat and smart de humidifier. The machine makes very little noise in the daytime and you can have this on two different fan settings. However, we did not have it on in our bedroom overnight as the noise can be a little intrusive in the dead of night. We woke up this morning to find all our windows clear and manly moisture free (only a slight bit at the bottom of the windows). This is the first time that they have EVER been free of water on winter nights and last night it was the coldest night of this winter (-8 degrees centigrade). We have a very warm bungalow and have a wood/coal burning fire on every night in winter so normally have had a lot of condensation on our windows in the mornings-but NOT this morning! It has a 2 hour and 4 hour setting and a continuous time setting if you have laundry drying in a room, or you just want it on continuously. It will switch itself off if the water tank becomes full. The machine comes with a pipe and a continuous drain outlet if you want this. It will also, quite accurately, measure the humidity in the room and you can set it to any humidity level you require from 35% RH (Relative Humidity) up to 80% RH although between 40%-60% is recommended in the informative booklet that comes with it.We are really impressed so far with this!

This dehumidifier is excellent - we've had it about three days and it is already making fantastic progress in sorting out a damp problem that was caused by an uncapped chimney allowing water down into our basement over time. Condensation has been reduced dramatically, and I'm deeply impressed by how much water is being pulled out each day. The house smells much better already. It has also done a fab incidental job of the drying clothes that can't go in the tumble dryer - all grist to its mill.It is a little on the heavy side - but much as I would expect of an appliance like this in terms of what it needs to do. However, it is stable and easy to move on its castors. I've not needed to use the continuous drain, but a basic hose and connector are included. I'm not ready to store this away yet, but it will tuck away nicely. This is a great piece of kit for tackling problems with condensation, moulds and damp inside houses and flats - in our case, in a basement dining room and kitchen. We have separately undertaken some work to prevent the problem and will have some additional work to do, but this supports all that work and will be instrumental in keeping a check on humidity levels in our basement until we can get that extra work done. And once we're there, it will help us with keeping on top of laundry during the winter months. All in all, a purchase that I am extremely pleased with.

I was pretty skeptical to buying a dehumidifier at first as i didnt think we would need it. We already had two of them unibond things (they're crap) and didnt think we'd need it. Once we had bought it however, i couldnt believe how much moisture is in the air! This beauty of a machine does a a great job. It has a display on top of the unit to see what level the humidity is at in the place. You can adjust it according to what you want. There is also a laundry option, which in my opinion isn't actually needed but there's only two of us so who knows for a family. Has a big tank to collect all the water in which is useful if leaving it constantly on.There is a 2hr and 4hr timer on this which in the 2 months we've had it we've used only twice. It does not use that much electricity which is ideal. It has a high and low option for how powerful you want it to work which is great when theres high levels of moisture in the air. Lastly it helps with keeping on top of your asthma (i am a sufferer) and i have noticed i am not using my inhalers as much, so it has health benefits too!The one downside is that the humidity level on top only works in 5's so we had to buy separate hygrometer to see what the actual humidity was. Apart from that i would highly recommend this product as it works great. I dont know why i didn't think about getting this sooner!

This has been a fantastic dehumidifier so far - the amount of water it has managed to pull out of the air in the house has been incredible as I was having problems with adequate ventilation and the house being too well insulated. I think it uses a fair amount of electricity so in the long term I will be installing something more economical like a PIV system (positive input ventilation) system at some point but for this winter, I'm impressed with this unit and it has been more than adequate. I have had it set to 55% RH which seems to be just below the humidity levels where mould and mildew thrive. If I had one criticism of the unit, it is that the input vent is positioned at the back which prevents you from placing it up against a wall.I've positioned mine with the front against the hallway wall and this works fine apart from the minor inconvenience of moving it to pull the water tank out. As for the build quality, it seems very solid to me and a unit that will last a long time and in reading all the reviews, saw a couple of low rated reviews saying the plastic was poor quality which doesn't seem to be the case at all with my unit?? I'm wondering if they received something different that wasn't this Ecoair as it is confusing.

Been using this a few months now (winter) and is does everything I wanted and more. No more streaming Windows. Flat feels warmer. Washing are dry in a few hours as opposed to days.Works a treat. I did a bit of research before purchase and happy I found this. Criticisms are on higher settings it is a bit loud. You couldn't run this overnight in the bedroom or even in a hall. Lower setting is quieter but still not noiseless. Pouring the water tank out requires you have it completely over the sink or you could end up with wet feet (dribbles a bit) A spout of some description in the design would have helped. Other than this I can't fault it at all. As to lif span we shall see but 2 year guarantee...Well worth the money.

I have been testing this product for a few days before writing this review. I can honestly say it is brilliant. As soon as you unpack it you can tell it is well made, it has a solid robust feel to it. The controls are very easy to use and for once the information leaflet is well written and understandable.. In use it has made a tremendous difference to the area of the house that suffered from damp. The large collection tank is a godsend as you can leave the machine running for a much longer period of time before it needs emptying, which by the way is very easy to do.If your home suffers from damp or condensation do yourself a favour this winter invest in one of these machines you won't bedisappointed.

I use this in my garage to keep the RH to below 70%. It is capable of much more than this; if I ran it for more hours it would achieve lower figures easily. The tank is a good size & doesn't need constant attention, and the drain tube is a very useful feature although I don't use it as (obviously) it limits where you can position the unit. The %RH readout is slightly annoying as it only reads in 5% intervals; also I don't know how accurate it is - I bought a small temp / humidity meter at the same time, and prefer to be guided by that.Noise is not a problem for me in the garage, but I imagine it would not be intrusive in the house or bedroom.

This is brilliant. We have ours running two hours every evening after baths and showers and it clears the steam really quickly. We have a two bed bungalow with another bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Our upstairs bathroom is always damp this time of year but this dehumidifier does the job. We have ours in the lounge which is the most central room and it deals with the whole house. We have it set for the two hour run but can probably turn it off after about an hour. It has a special function to use when you have washing hanging up to dry indoors to keep moisture contained. It really is a good thing to have.

Works great. I set it at 60% humidity, and it started working for a few hours, captured a lot of water from the room, afterwards it only ran a few minutes every day, humidity remained at the chosen level. It isn't too noisy, but maybe for a bedroom, it's better to run it during the day and turn it off when you go to sleep.Easy to empty, easy to configure, good manual, very good product.I had to replace the UK plug with a standard EU plug, but that's normal for all products from the UK.If you have problems with condensation on your windows or on cold walls, this is the ideal solution.

Excellent machine. Am using it on the upstairs landing of a three bedroom house. It is keeping the three bedrooms and bathroom dryer, reduced/eliminating the mould we had. We just had a water leak over Christmas and it dried that out very quickly. It is quite loud on full fans. I run it on the lower setting at 50% humidity and it seems to suit us. We are removing a full collector of water each day. Water collector is easy to empty, the filter is simple to remove and clean. The machine looks good, works well and I intend to buy another asap to run downstairs.

I am delighted with my ecoair. I put it to work straight away and l am amazed at the amount of moisture that it has taken out in such a short amount of time. I was not expecting it to be so heavy. The fan on the dehumidifier is a bit noises. I can't keep it on through the night on the lower speed setting. I have to switch it off before I go to bed which is a same. But I can get around it buy putting it on for a while before going to bed. Apart from that I am over the moon with itMr. Murray

9.3.2017

We had a condensation problem in our bedroom, and had used disposable moisture traps, they collected little bit of the moisture, but nothing prepared me for the amount this would collect, it regularly sucks up 2-3 litres a day in the cold weather.I find the unit too noisy to run during the night, even on the quiet low speed setting, (with earplugs in), Also you cannot program the unit to come on a set times, or when moisture reaches a certain level which is a little restrictive.

20.11.2016

I used several dehumidifiers over the years. This is the most visually appealing and effective one I have had. The fan on it really helps dry out clothes on a clothes horse. The timer on it is actually really useful.I know a few people in the building trade. They are all using small compact dehumidifiers like these for drying out areas after a flood, as they are just as effective as industrial dehumidifiers without the massive cost/maintenance.

21.11.2017

It is a very efficient dehumidifier and it definitely does its job. As soon as we started using (in a bedroom with a water leak), the smell of moist went aways within few hours. It is a bit loud, though. The water recipient's capacity is very well suitable for a 3 bedroom home. Unfortunately I can't comment on the electricity it spends, since we're still waiting for our first bill.
