I think some of the reviewers of this product had unrealistic expectations. If you want to prevent condensation on your windows then you probably have humidity over 60% in your whole house and this little egg doesn't stand a chance. For that you would need to spend £100 mininum for a proper condensing electric dehumidifier and you'll be amazed how many litres of water that draws out of the air in your house. I actually have one of those too, which does a great job of keeping moisture in my house down to a comfortable level (which in turn reduces your heating bills as well as protects your house and contents from moisture damage). This egg comes into its own if you have an isolated moisture problem in a confined space, like in a corner cupboard, where it just can't get sufficient airflow for moisture to be prevented. That's exactly the location I'm using mine and I'm sure it is helping. Roughly after 2 weeks I find the indicator changes colour meaning it has absorbed as much water as it can, so I put it in the microwave for 10 minutes and the cycle starts again. If that's the kind of moisture problem you're trying to avoid then I would recommend this product.

I was scrubbing mildew out of my wardrobe every week until I got this egg. It works quite effectively in a wardrobe or small cupboard, if you remember to microwave it regularly. For anyone who didn't get the proper instructions, this is what you do: take off the blue plastic base, turn the egg upside down, remove the stopper and stand the egg in an old (microwave safe) tea cup or similar to stop it falling over. Then microwave it on half-power for around 10mins, open the door of the microwave to let the steam out and let it stand until it's cool and dry. Replace the stopper and pop the egg back on its stand and the pink should turn back to blue within a few minutes.Result: much drier wardrobe and no mildew.

This little egg has worked wonders on our narrowboat this winter. The trick is..remove the little plastic plug that is actually on the egg and of course..do not put either that, or the plastic holder in the microwave. I placed my egg in a microwavable jug, egg, pointy side down (make sure none of the beads spill out) and then place a microwavable lid on jug. 10 mins in micro only, then at least 20 mins cooling down before you attempt to remove from microwave, as will be very hot. Pop little plastic plug back in egg and then back onto its holder. All ready to go again! Just wish it had these instructions written on the egg. Hope this helps. Makers take note!

I have been looking for something like these for small wardrobes. They are just what they say they are and work really well. They are easy to recharge when they turn from blue to pink. As it says in the instructions take them out of the holder and put them in the microwave on about 450 or slightly more for about ten minutes and then leave them 'in the microwave' to cool down and when you put them back in the holder the colour should change back to blue to show they are ready to use again. They actually look quite cute so could be out on show but not to use anywhere too large as obviously they're not for that.

I have several of the dehumidifying eggs throughout my home. Although they are meant for small areas, I find that they "do the trick" fairly effectively & are much less expensive than using an electric dehumidifyer. I have two in my lounge/dining room as it's quite large.Regenerating an egg in the microwave oven once it's saturated with moisture, takes 10 mins on 650w setting. Easy to do, but be very careful not to lift the egg out of the microwave without using a thick cloth to hold it with as it is initially blisteringly hot!The price paid via Amazon has been the cheapest I've seen.

I agree these little eggs are extremely useful in my kitchen corner cupboard on a north facing external wall. I am now placing them in all the nooks and crannies where nothing else fits but there is only a slight issue with dampness. They are easy to recognise when they are full as they turn pink and re-activate quickly but you must remove from the microwave with caution as they do get very hot, they are far more effective and attractive than water trays with crystals that you have to keep emptying and refilling with costly crystals and end up knocking over and spilling on the carpet!

This item does the job although it does not tell you how long and what temp to put in microwave to re-charge. The seal on the bottom of eggs isn't especially strong and at one point mine came un-done and the internal asorbing beads went everywhere in my kitchen. Otherwise for a cheap de-humidifier that does a basic job, then fine. I use in my small en-suite bathroom were the air vent in the ceiling has broken so the steam accumilates. I have to re-charge in microwave about once a week.

Bought this for my car, which kept getting condensation on the inside of the windows. While not stopping the problem completely (I guess it can only extract the water sofast before it freezes on really cold nights), it does seem to have helped alot, and worth keeping in the car, and a 5-10 minute blast in the microwave is enough todry it out again when it gets full.Would not work for large areas, but then it is designed for small spaces like closets.Would recommend.

I bought five of these to help with the condensation problem we have in fitted wardrobes sited on outside walls. Clothes often smelled damp and were sometimes wet. They have solved this problem. They lasted for about two weeks before needing to be microwaved to dry out the crystals. Its much cheaper than running a dehumidifier and I would recommend as a solution for problems with damp in small enclosed spaces.

Had problem with moisture in cupboard , used two of these and it worked a treat. They are very easy to use, just pop into the microwave to rejuvenate and ready to go again. Really work well. Due to the size of them I find it hard to believe that they would be effective in large areas such as a whole room, but they were absolutely perfect for what we wanted them for.

Myself and my husband have a vw T4 camper van and the egg is brilliant to use overnight to stop that morning 'snuffly' feeling!Seriously, it is great in the smallish space that you have in the van, I would really recommend it - in fact after we had been camping with friends they all bought one and also say how great it is.

I initially bought 2 of these a year ago and they work extremely well in my wardrobe and kitchen cupboard. I have recently bought another couple to prevent damp in the corner of my bedroom and it is working so far (I recharge the eggs in the bedroom every 3 weeks and 4 weeks for the others).

was not too sure about this when it arrived but i use it in my car to stop the windows from getting wet and misted when parked up overnight on the drive and since i started using it i dont have to wipe the damp of the windows no more. well pleased, getting one for the husbands car soon.

Bought two of these for cupboard or behind furniture. They work really well, though only in small areas. Despite no instructions I just googled. I take egg out of holder, take plug out of egg, put in cup, microwave at med-high for 5 minutes. Then leave to cool

A compact device ideal for wardrobes. Easy to regenerate the crystals when they become wet, as indicates by the side panels turning pink. It does usually take a while for the panels to change to blue again after heating in the microwave.
