I have two plastic flip lid tool boxes, they are decent enough but they suffer from the fact that no matter how big they are you sometimes can't get to the tools you want easily because they are all lumped together. The small items like thin screwdrivers tend to fall through the bigger tools and settle at the bottom so you need to unpack everything to get at them when you want them. Not the end of the world but annoying none the less.The plastic catch broke on mine recently so I had a look in the DIY stores and the selection was poor and over priced. Traditionally styled cantilever box are not that common these days and they tend to be expensive so I jumped at this when I seen it on Amazon.

As a professional mechanic I appreciate the convenience and portability of a cantilever tool box like this Draper product. However, I am very disappointed with the quality. This is probably a rogue item and I have had the misfortune to receive it from Amazon. After unpacking the box and checking it over I could see that one of the hinges was misaligned and one of the lids did not open fully. I thought I could live with this slight defect, loaded it up with my tools and disposed of the packaging. After a few days I decided that I did not like the fact that the hinge did not open completely and hang alongside the tray, out of the way. (Other boxes have rivets to attach the lids and they take up more room).

It's been a good number of months since I bought this tool box and it's withstood a fair bit of hauling. Worth noting however, that I'm not a tradesman; I've only subjected it to Sunday wear. The powder coating does scratch off a bit and the hinge joints look like they want to gather rain.Levering action is as good as ever -- though I do tend to go overboard with the oiling. There's a lot of room inside, that I've only just managed to fill up with all my hand tools, minus the hand saw, which was just a bit too long. My only complaint is that the toolbox is now a bit on the heavy side. I'm sure you'll agree that this isn't a fault of the design,

This is a robust and surprisingly spacious toolbox with a nice opening action. The two sides are not linked, so you can have one side open to retrieve tools while the other side is pushed up against a wall. The lids include holes for a padlock, and the bottom tray is large enough to hold my mains electric drill (along with bits, scrapers, a tube of filler, an electric screwdriver, and some other items).The one criticism I have is that it does not close neatly and the two sides have to be pushed together to close the final 1cm. But hey... it's a toolbox, not a presentation case for Fabergé eggs.

Bought 2 different cantilever off amazon now, one for myself and one as a gift for my dad and this was definitely the better quality of the two. The mechanism seems study and we'll built and I can't imagine it going wrong for a very long time. The one this is replacing was about 30 years old before the bottom rusted out.The only thing that wasn't shown very well in the listing was the draper pressed logo into the two lids. I had already bought a plaque to stick on top so it was a bit annoying as I was expecting it to be flat

I bought this as I much prefer the cantilever tool boxes to the lift out tray type as it makes optimum use of the space available. Made from steel it is sturdy enough for household use and lots of storage. In fact the it would be easy to overload it with heavy spanners and wrenches to the point where it gets too heavy to easily lift. Only downside is there is no divisions in the cantilever trays so had to find sone small containers for washers, screws, etc. For the price great value for money.

Changed to this from a Tote tool bag as I got sick of rummaging about for ages looking for a specific tool.This makes all my tools easy to see & access quickly. Not the most heavy-duty toolbox around & probably more suited for home use rather than a professional tradesman, but nevertheless this is still a well made toolbox, especially considering the price.Very pleased with purchase, & would recommend.

Nice and roomy for my tools, plus coils of wire in the base. Well built, arrived quickly and good value. The automatic opening when pulling the handles apart is a very good feature, that we noted before purchase from others. We are pleased to have bought this size as our particular use would have been denied by the two smaller toolboxes of the Draper range.

I wanted a good solid, long-lasting toolbox, not a flimsy one, and even reading the reviews of many cantilever boxes it is hard to be sure how strong a particular box is. But let me say: this one is strong, very well finished in enamel-like paint, and it opens easily and smoothly. It can carry a lot and that's all we generally need. Recommended!

The toolbox is perfect just what I needed for my work it was exactly as described, couldn't get over the cost of the item which was slightly over half the cost in the Draper catalogue, the delivery service was quick, simple and free postage so I was very happy with the whole deal.

Well worth the money good size, well constructed and very durable too., unlike other designs this one the handle is attached to the bottom of part of the case so it doesn't stretch out the more weight you put in it. Bought it about 6 years ago, still perfect. Big thumbs up.

The toolbox arrived very quick in Denmark, and made my husbond very happy. It is not possible to find this kind of toolbox in Denmark, all on the market are made in plastic. So we are very pleased, the box arrived in perfect working order.

fair enough, I am not a builder, but for my domestic use it is more than enough. Sturdy and easy to use, hope will be longer-lasting than a plastic toolbox that broke on me and that is why I needed it as replacement.

Can't say how much I enjoy using this tool box. Hard wearing, practical, and fits way more than it appears. Can tell I'll be happily using it for many years to come.
