A decent little card, one star off for being a bit pricey, but five stars overall. I have a couple of the SYBA cards on other builds, which are also very good, but I liked the fact that this has an internal header as that allowed me to connect an old Presonus Firestudio mobile which I have in one of my 5.25" optical drive bays. You have to de-case it to get it in, but I just got a cheap 5.25" drawer to serve as a rack tray - further bodging and dremelling required - but I'm very happy to have one less thing cluttering up my desk.More practically this card was recognised immediately by MacOS Mojave and also Manjaro and Pop OS Linux distros - I haven't' booted into windows 10 since I installed it,but I've no reason to think it wouldn't work perfectly well, Windows gods allowing.Lastly if you're reading this because of the hackintosh title I can't recommend strongly enough that you take the time to do an OpenCore install with vanilla MacOS - lots of good walkthroughs on YT. I've been using Macs since '91 and my experience with OpenCore has been very reliable, which to my mind is the whole goal of using MacOS on non Apple hardware - at least since they stopped making a desktop that makes any sense to buy.

I bought this based on the other reviews as I also have a Focusrite Firewire audio interface that stopped working with the upgrade to Windows 10. It worked perfectly under Windows 7 with an NEC chipset firewire card, but sadly I could not get it to work under Windows 10 whatever combination of drivers I found. Focusrite website suggest that for Windows 10 you should use a card with Texas Instruments XIO2213B chipset, and this card does have that. So, a quick search and with Prime delivery, it was quickly received. As with any PCI/e card, it's easy and quick to fit if you're confident inside a PC.I use a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 and this now works correctly with this card. However, there are still some peculiarities that I have to remember. For example, the Focusrite has to be switched on before powering the computer; the drivers don't notice if I turn it on afterwards. Maybe it's just me, but it still feels a little delicate to change settings; but that could be the burn from a week of trying to get Windows 10 to work with the old card.

It's taken some time to find a Firewire card that works on my PC under Windows 10 with my Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. Apparently, the X99 chipset used on the Asus Rampage V Extreme motherboard doesn't get on well with certain Firewire chipsets (such as the Texas Instruments TI XIO2200A), and my old VIA6315 based card stopped working when I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, refusing to work even when I'd tried the legacy Windows 7 driver. This card seems to work very well with its TI XIO2213B Firewire chipset. I needed a Firewire 400 to 800 adapter to connect to the Pro 40, which was easy enough. Easy installation, no audio dropouts and no need to mess about with drivers.

So you may have come across this for the same reason I did. Trying to find a firewire card that will work with Win 10 and Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. Well this does. It's got that chipset you want and you don't have to faff around with drivers when you plug it in. Mine worked as soon as I started the PC. Zero issues. If you are connecting to the Pro40 be aware that this card has FW800 connectors and the SP40 has FW400. So you need a cable with the correct connectors on each end.

I purchased This to connect my focusrite saffire pro 14 to my windows 10 machine (with gigabyte motherboard) and it worked flawlessly. I Plugged it into the mother board, installed the focusrite driver, connected the focusrite and everything worked straight away. No need for any installation drivers on the pcie card - it just drops straight in.Highly recommended.

I popped this into my Windows 7 computer, the card was recognised straight away without any issues. I connected my firewire device & again it was communicating within no time.A few months have passed since my purchase & the card has performed faultlesslyHighly Recommended

Perfect for audio interfaces. I used this card for my Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 and Reaper as my DAW (Windows 7 X64 with Slylake CPU). No more audio dropouts and glitches). You need a special cable or adapter because this card is 1394B and not 1394A like usual firewire cards

Used in a Windows 10 PC to provide a FireWire interface for a Focusrite audio interface. Works perfectly with minimum fuss on setup. Texas instrument chipset as advertised. No need to pay the extra for better known brands as far as I'm concerned.

It worked, it has the correct TI chipset to use the Focusrite Saffire on windows 7 and older versions of windows 10. No messing around with legacy firewire drivers, windows has the drivers for this caked into it.

I bought this card to replace one from another manufacturer that failed after less that a year in my PC. I am using it for two SATA drives, not RAID.

Works well with Focusrite Pro40, need a 400 to 800 adapter though. All good.

For windows 10 you need to search for legacy driver KB29701191
