Bought one of these because I needed to replace a broken optical drive. New optical drives have SATA interfaces, but my old PC has PATA interface. So I also purchased a SATA to PATA interface via USB.Fitting the card was a bit awkward as the actual card is very short vertically, and a bit shorter than standard PCI socket length wise (see my picture). I needed to remove most of the other cards from the main board so I could see what was happening and get my fingers low enough to push the card in.The card looks cheaply made, with the contacts looking like they have been used (see my pictures). However once fitted card seems to be performing well.UPDATE 10/09/2014I have recently updated theoperating system of the computer from XP 32bit to Windows 7 64bit and initially the card wasn't recognized. I had to switch the computer off and then remove the power cord at the rear of the computer for a few minutes (as even when computer is switched off, power is still applied minimally to the motherboard). Upon rebooting the card was recognized and working like a champ!

I have been using a cheap self powered usb hub, but my hard drive or any other device that was plugged into it would randomly switch off or freeze as the hub decides for itself (wrongly) when the power is needed, so I then looked for a way of increasing my usb slots on the pc itself, as they work more consistently that way.I bought a pcie x1 usb 3.0 card with 2 extra slots, but only one of the slots seemed to work so I removed it.So then I tried this Konig PCI card instead. It's usb 2.0, but so are most devices so it is of no consequence to me that they are not usb 3.0.It plugged straight into a spare slot on my Asus Z87K motherboard (Windows 7 64bit), and worked immediately,Windows 7 finding the correct drivers by itself. I only fitted it this morning, but it seems to work consistently.Fingers crossed, I finally have extra, working, usb slots.Good value for 4 extra slots, this card is recommended.

This is as cheap as chips and highly effective, easy to install, and so far, 100% reliable.Worth noting is that mine came with 5 external ports, not the 4 shown. The 5 are reduced to 4 if you use either of the two internal ports - one is a USB socket, one is a pin-header.I had a minor problem with an error 43 being reported in the 'Device Manager' drivers tab, and at the same time none of the ports on the card were working. It was easy to fix: go to the Device Manager page, right-click on the card, and take the 'Uninstall' option. Then 'Scan for hardware changes' from the top 'Action' menu. This sorted me out nicely. For the money,it seems to be a bit of a no-brainer if you're getting short on USB-2 ports.

When I first read the other reviews for this product and looked at the supplied driver CD I thought that this USB hub would only work with Windows XP or ME. I can confirm that although the supplied driver CD is rubbish that this card worked first time on my Windows 7 (64 bit) system. It did not require an internet connection to work either. Plug it in - then it sets itself up automatically and you are off. Extra USB 2.0 ports for very little expense; and it feels well built. Would recommend this hub.

I needed a USB 2.0 for my Windows XP PC as it was only supplied with USB 1.1 and I needed something simple to install as I am no hardware expert. This board was dead simple, literally, plug it in (with PC off, of course) and go. As a bonus it comes with a driver for use with Windows 98, which I also run.

Nice low profile usb hub, doesnt block the airflow from the fans on my graphics card, installed on windows 7 pro with no issues at all, no drivers needed. Note no drivers are included in the box so this may be an issue for any XP/Vista users out there.

So far, so good! Plugged it into my pci without an issue and immediately started working. No driver to install or an installation disc. The card was a lot smaller then i'd of expected but does the job, didn't need any power cables.

A one year old Asus PC has problems with the on-board USB2 ports: one music device has random connections/disconnections, the mouse is dropped when the PC is idle. This plug-in card works perfectly in all situations.

Cheap, cheerful, works brilliantly although USB 2.0 feels a bit slow now. Can't really find a reason to have a USB on the inside though.Brilliant purchase, especially at the price.

The card worked perfectly as soon as installed. Twelve more words required to say what has already been said before.
