The product worked flawlessly in windows 7, the automatic driver installer did not find the driver, simply use the manual add hardware wizard and point to the CD.Product arrived promptly with no problems and it really does work as a native serial port. I have had no luck getting my DXY 980 plotter to work using the usb-serial adapters but with this it worked straight away.So far I have not managed to get it to work in Linux(Ubuntu) unfortunately but on Startech's website they claim it does work in linux so maybe it is my Ubuntu set up that is the issue and not the product, just be careful if using linux as I have not managed to find any drivers for linux.

This plugged straight into my laptop running Windows 7 pro 64bit and the driver installed from the disc and I was up and running within minutes.I have used this with multiple devices including routers, switches and multiplexors and have not had one problem so would recommend this to anyone wanting a serial port, certainly beats the USB dongles.If you dont mind spending the extra get this.

Yes these are expensive, but with teh UART 16950 chipset, it works with everything. And if you have a DOS boot disk, even DOS programs will communicate through it. So if you want to buy a qualty product, buy this, if not you could try the Digutus version at half the money, but that doesnt come with this chipset...Tried with Windows 7 32 Bit, Windows 6 64 bit and Windows10 64Bit

Works fine on Windows 8.1 64-bit. I've used it now several times to calibrate and diagnose the autogas ECU of my car and it works fine. Initially I had connection problems, but this was my fault because without glasses in the dark car I did not notice that Windows has added it as COM11 and not as COM1. Since changing the software to use COM11, it works absolutely fine.

Couldn't be happier. Have been looking for a modern interface to PLCSs and modern laptops/netbooks and works really well. Used it on Siemens s7 200 and top rated. Robust build and quick delivery.

Forget the unstable behaviour of usb to serial adapter. This card is equippped with a true PCIe - Serial chip that works with every version of Windows. No more blue screen ... :-)

Cannot fault this. Slot it in, and thats it. Very good speeds and no handshake problems etc. Pricey if you pay normal price but still worth it.

Got the unit, loaded the software plugged the unit in and started using it with no problems.

A bit fussy about drivers, but works really nicely.
