I am very impressed with the performance of this card in my Sabertooth X-79 motherboard. I am currently running four 4tb Seagate NAS drives in raid 5. It was up and running after a short (couple of hours) initialization period. I transferred 3 TB of data to the array and the speed averaged 140 MB/s which was much better than I was expecting.Obviously there are better/more expensive cards on the market, especially if you are using ssds, and you do tend to get what you pay for, but I think for the price/performance this card can not be beat. I would buy it again.

This is easily one of the best bargains when it comes to hardware raid. This card costs about 50% of what you would pay for the same features from most other manufacturers. It covers all the major RAID modes 1,0,5,10 etc. and is surprisingly easy to setup. Maintenance and management is via a web interface which is very easy to use. In all honesty this is one of those components you can simply fit and forget. I would definitely recommend it.

Installation is relatively simple. Need to go to Web site and download latest drivers and BIOS and for Win 64 bit the utility to update the bios and drivers. Once that is done the setup is simple and the configuration without problems. In this case RAID 5 with 3 x 3TB SATA drives (WD Red). Have not tested transfer speeds but on loading disks from old setup seemed quicker than drives attached to mother board SATA connections.

As one of the other reviewers set, initializing the volume from BIOS has limited options so assign the drives and wait for the OS to come up, load drivers and utility then and initialize the volume. It took less than 2 seconds to initialize the 4*3tb RAID-5 volume.I am getting 100-125MB/sec write speeds through this.Very happy with it so far

Needs a bios flash from what im told ... I have to push 'END' when its doing its thing on start up otherwise I wont get my hard drive loaded.Yes I chacked bios settings on MOBO this thing just takes over ... from what I hear if you do a bios flash it will work normal, but I havent got to that point yet.

Picked this up when I recently rebuilt my WHS 2011 box, setup 4 2Tb Samsung drives in a raid 5 array, has worked well other that one instance that windows reported the array was completely full when it actually had almost nothing on it, rebooting the server fixed the problem and it hasn't happened again.

No issues that other reviewers have. Perfect card. Please note that this card requires a decent host (PC). The CPU in the host will need to do alot of the owrk for RAID calculations. If you have a poor PC performance then a more expensive card with a CPU built in is required.

This product works very well on my server machine.so far, no problem. just wish better access speed.very nice for this price range. The driver and soft came with this package did not work on WHS 2011 but newer ver. of driver on their website works fine.

Great low end RAID card. If you are using this in a server and don't require high speed video. I recommend placing this card in the 1st PCI express slot. The card will utilize the CPU with more bandwidth and speed vs the second or 3rd slot.

Works pretty well. I saw a major performance hit when I had less than 1.5TB free on my 9TB RAID5. That's a little disconcerting. But for the price, and the fact that it's hackintosh friendly, I don't think you can go wrong.

23.1.2013

works out of the box with my Linux based RAID server for easy access to many drives.when you get this don't forget the Mini-SAS to 4SATA cables as well. You will need 2 of them to support the 8 SATA drives.

For the money and performance this raid controller is great. I used it to build a new desk top PC running windows 7 ultimate in a solid state drive raid 5 configuration and it runs perfect and fast.

Not VMware compatible. Great product. Just didn't suit my initial need. Used for my NAS Build; great in this appllication. My fault for not checking compatibility prior to purchasing.

Worked perfectly right out of the box and with the software updates gave me the 8 channel Raid 6 array I needed. Is fast and has worked faultlessly ever since

Used this HBA to attach an external LTO5 tape drive to various PCs for testing. Worked just fine with latest driver from website, no need to upgrade firmware.
