First off, the first one I received was faulty. The power led on the top tray was intermittent. It was replaced promptly however. The replacement unit works a treat though. The drive activity led feeds are taken from the sata cable via the supplied cables. This is like all the Startech equipment I have bought, well made and works.Update My 2020, one fan has failed. Easy to replace.

Not up to the usual standard I expect from StarTech, but it does the job well.The fan being constantly on caused a noise issue due to the small fan size. However, the fan can easily be disabled by removing connector using a pair of tweezers. At present my disk temperatures are keeping at 36C max so no heat issues at present.

Just what was needed to bet the best out of my computer.Hard drives for WIFE two SONS and Daughter and all with different Operating systems.LINUX Kubuntu Ubuntu. Windows XP and Windows 7 GREAT

Super quick as always.Excellent item - just what I was after for my N54L server. The 2.5 houses my OS drive. The 3.5 houses my 5th bay for a 5 disk RAID-5 setup.

Great device, solid, quite, SAS or SATA connecions, topped off the flexibility of my NAS.Don't expect anything in the way of packaging.

Already had a star tech one but needed one with 2.5 inch for ssd,this works perfect and the price was right.

Great Enclosure but the fan is a little loud..(might end up disconnecting it) other wise top notch
