I bought 4 Elements for my husband for his birthday after we both enjoyed the demo version on the pc. It has 64 levels of proper gameplay, which consists of highlighting 3 or more gems to clear a path; it is interspersed with brief "spot the difference" and "find the missing object". These "extras" are a bit annoying as we are not really interested in spot the difference, but these have to be completed to move on to the next level. My concern was that it wouldn't transfer to DS very well because the object of the game is to follow various paths to reach a goal. These can be quite intricate and on the pc you can see a larger portion of the path than you can on the DS.My husband has not found too many problems with this as he uses the arrow buttons to move around the area, though I occasionally hear curses because the screen keeps moving to an area which he is not ready to play yet.The game has my husband scratching his head but he is enjoying the challenge. Even when a level seems impossible he eventually finds a way round, but it can take two or three goes to get through it.So far he has reached level 47 and I am waiting patiently for hime to finish so I can have a go.Update on 4 Elements: If you are left handed you will find it a lot harder to play than a right-handed person. The main controls are the stylus and the cursor control button. If you are left-handed and can't swap hands to use the stylus you have to alternate cursor button with stylus. It therefore takes a lot longer to navigate the screen and select gems when making a path. I am right-handed and completed all 64 levels in two days; my husband took two WEEKS and still hasn't managed to complete the last level because of the control problem. My advice is to buy the pc version if you are left-handed.

4 Elements is a totally addictive game which is the next level for those who enjoy 3 in a row matching games such as Jewel Quest, Ancient Rome etc. The graphics are superior and the game expands onto different screens, following the flow of energy released as you match 3 or more in a row. By pressing the B button, an overview of the whole game can be seen, showing you which direction to head in order to achieve success. There are 4 sections (elements) of Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. Within these sections are four other categories, some of which, themselves have four further categories. My partner, who is particularly good at these games managed it with many hours over 2 weeks.I play for around half an hour a day and am on the third level after about a month.Interspersed between the 'matching' games are 'spot the difference' games, which although good in graphics, are not challenging for those who are seeking that kind of game. Personally, they are a very small portion of the game, so I still rate this whole game 5*.My 7 year old grandson is also hooked and doing surprisingly well with tuition, so suitable for all age groups.

This game was just what I was looking for. I love jewel match and puzzle type games, so this seemed just the ticket. This game is jewel match with a twist. You have to create channels in the jewel board to allow one of the elements to flow through towards the goal at the opposite end of the jewel board. Each level becomes a little harder to finish before the timer runs out, and this becomes a bit of a challenge on the last few levels. Overall an addictive must for jewel match fans, the game lost one star because I felt it was not long enough, and could have included further more challenging levels.

This game is totally addictive. You must help heal the 4 elements and for once there are various different elements to the game as well. It becomes challenging on a time element plus learning were you can cut corners to make up the time you can loose when you hit a block, I've lost hours playing this game and got really frustrated as well which for me just adds to the game. You can pick it up and put it down if you have to but my daughter soon learnt that it was easier to ask Dad when Mum wasplaying this one!

I loved this game. It kept me enthralled for ages, and I found it very addictive. The game is quite simple-just trying to get the water/air/earth/fire to flow to the end point by clearing the route so the element can proceed, but it can be really hard to do that 'quite simple' thing. Some levels are really easy but towards the end of each section it gets harder. The final one where the screen is moving and you are trying to hold it still in order to clear the way for the elemental flow still has me stumped.

Wow, what a lovely game, so relaxing, it's great, I highly recommend it, you can play the game at your leisure & the game picks up where you left off, unlike a lot of games that don't have a save function, there are also mini games included in each level where you have to spot the difference. I'm anxiously waiting for the next edition to be released. I have the two games on my PC as well & they're great & they're great.Do your mind body & soul a favour, you won't regret it :-)

This is one of the best 3 in a row games their is that i have played and i have played a few believe me it was really entertaining you have to get through the elements to reach the jewel it kept me entertained through the whole of the game it is a maze and you have to get the water to flow through with hidden dangers by linking 3 so if your a 3 in a row nut like me you wont be unhappy with this game worth every penny and more in my opinion dont hesitate just buy.

To start with thought it wouldn't be very good but the more you play the more difficult it gets. Its slightly different from the usual jewel games as there are 3 parts to it, firstly spot the differences then you have to find the key and then match the colours. It is good as you may run out of time.I have been playing it for ages now and still not finished the game. I would recommend it if you like matching up things and it was good value for the money

I really enjoyed this game, as did both my daughters. The matching is challenging enough for me, as a mum in my 40s, and I found the spot the difference and hidden objects possible on a DS lite (my bigger DS having been "borrowed").My only complaint is that the game is not long enough.

At first I thought it was easy but then as you go up through the levels it becomes challenging and as it infuriates me if I get through the game quickly I love it. Easy to play and put down also s attempts are only about 10 minutes long.

This is a great game, which I'm still battling my way through, although not even half way there yet! It has great graphics and is very enjoyable. I'm not a gaming expert but I've spent many an hour on this, and find it great fun

Got this game because i like looking for hidden objects. This is a good game for that. But there is only one thing that i dont like about itIf you dont do your game in the time, you have to start it again.

Only half way through. Enjoying playing but can be frustrating in places. So close to completing levels but then so far. A lot of repetition on some levels until you make it to the end. However enjoyable.

if you like games for whiling away a bit of time this is it, complicated enough to keep your interest but easy enough so that you don't become bored

30.8.2011

I love this but find it frustrating too, its not the easiest but then it wont be over in a day, enjoyable and worth the money
