What a bit of kit this is! It's every bit as robust and well made as you hope it to be. I'm always critical of poor engineering and attention to detail but everything here is just done right. This is the first storage box I have absolutely no worries about putting my kit in, it's unbelievably well made and well thought out.WHAT'S INSIDEThe box comes with a full set of storage cups, including two larger ones that are double the size of the others. If you have one of the Stanley FatMax Deep Organisers then those cups are similar but actually smaller and not as quite deep/large as those in this Toughsystem one. There is also a spacious storage tray that is formed into the lid of the box. It's opened with a sturdy handle and clip and when down sits in a small groove that prevents the lid closing on your hands (very VERY good design). I can fit all my drill bits in the right hand part of the tray which has a sizeable partitioned storage area (roughly 117mm x 221mm). It's possible to easily fit standard length SDS drill bits up to the 12mm with in this compartment (which is 221mm long and 39mm wide) and you can pile in about 7 or 8 (I think) bits of various size per partition. There are 2 of these longer partitions and a couple of shorter half length ones that fit shorter HSS bits and some short wood ones. The left side of the storage tray has another little box area that has no partitions but is the same overall size as that on the right. You can get loads in there too. The middle part of the tray is left open for you to store whatever longer items (around 255mm but you could get 300mm+ in diagonally) you have but the structural foam of the lid does limit the depth of items stored here in some areas. I managed to wiggle in a standard chuck adapter for an SDS drill but only by tucking it under the ribs and you wouldn't be able to fit something that depth in all of this particular tray area. Long drill bits would be fine in here though.WHAT CAN YOU FIT IN?In the main compartment I actually took out the storage cups and now have a Makita HR2610 SDS drill and a Makita 6281DWPE complete with charger and spare battery. These are NOT small and that just shows how much you can squeeze in. It does take a few tries of getting the layout right (especially fitting the battery) but once you get it sorted it goes in and shuts cleanly without any snags or bulges in the outer case.IN USEI've already had the box in and out of the shed a few times for various projects and it's fantastic to finally have all the tools and bits I need in one case. Today I was fitting some guttering and had the box out in the rain. I didn't seal it up but even just with the lid down everything stayed perfectly dry. With it closed and sealed (the latches are strong and easy to operate) I washed the mud off it with a hose pipe and I certainly believe that you could pressure wash this and the contents would remain protected.SOME POINTS TO NOTE/INFOFirstly, it's heavy, especially loaded. Easily manageable for the average bloke and strong woman but this isn't a lightweight option. The handles are great and are found on the top and side. The latches are very good too (nicer than the Stanley FatMax box one IMHO) and I can't imagine them failing or coming open or anything crazy like that.Secondly, the lid doesn't open all the way back, the top doesn't go back far enough to rest on the floor. In fact, it stays just passed the vertical. I like this but you might just want to take that into account.Thirdly, the internal dimensions of the bottom tray are: 486mm wide and 255mm deep at the narrowest point where the handle is. The deepest part of the box is 280mm or so but that's measuring in between the ribs and nodules that protrude from the edges. The internal height of the bottom tray is hard to say because of the top tray slightly impeding on the height of the bottom section but it's around 85mm.There is some give in the case so a bit of squishing will let you fit in those odd shaped things but those measurement should give you a good idea what you can fit in. I think it holds loads for a box of this type and with the incredible amount of protection it has.IN CONCLUSIONI'm buying a DS300 Toughsystem box as a result of buying this. It's actually on order now and due to arrive in 2 days. My step dad (an old school tradesman of several decades) was salivating over this one and my father in law was almost tempted away from is beloved tool cabinet. This is a serious bit of kit that you can invest in and build your storage around. The other options in the range will let me grow my storage and keep things protected, particularly as I move house which happens about once a year at the moment!I whole heartedly recommend this case (as you can tell) and hopefully the above has answered some questions (they were the sort of thing I wished was explained in the official literature). If you have any more questions, you can comment and I'll see what I can do.

I think this is my favourite tool box ever. The insert is pre cut so you may need to mess around with that depending on what tool you want to use. I have a 18v brushless and I needed to make 1-2 alterations, but now fits snug, I even cut out a space for a spare battery! This box holds the driver, 1 x spare battery, 1 x charger, 1 x tape measure and 3 x Drill bit sets (wood, metal and masonry) as well as the Dewalt screwdriver bits all easily and therefore it is my take anywhere all in one. Not only is it practical and well made - it is also solid as a rock and therefore virtually indestructible.Only minor downside is weight which is on the heavy side - but for me that is just reasssuring ofthe build quality.want to buy more drills - just to get another one....

What a brilliant toolbox, fantastic price too!Comes with the yellow cups which you can remove or leave as you wish and they remain in place once closed, some useful storage in a folddown compartment on the lid, is sealed against moisture and crud, strong enough for a 100kg man to stand on with near no flexing (probably shouldn't do that too much, but it's nice to know?), comfortable handle, lockable, can be fit against a rack to secure it in a van, and you can get the easily configurable inserts (not supplied, about £12) to neatly secure tools. It's simply an excellent toolbox and should endure many years of actual daily use.

Regarding my recent purchase of two (2) Dewalt DS 150 Toughsystem Organiser Boxes, I can report as follows:The delivery of these two items took less than half the time quoted on the invoice.Packing was excellent. The units were very strongly constructed, with excellent HD latches, and with several essential fold-down handles. The arrangements regarding slotting the two boxes together in several positions was ingenious and solidThe overall colouring, (black/orange/silver), was eye-catching and easy to spot when coming down onto airport caravels.Altogether a first-class product.

This is a top quality box reminiscent of a Peli case. Handles all over make it easy to pick up from any position. The catches are the same as the older DeWalt tool cases but it has a full o-ring seal and air valve so your gear isn't going to get damp! To be honest it seems a bit OTT for just carrying screws and fixings. I intend to probably take out the insert boxes and use it for tools. Hopefully DeWalt will consider a flexible compartment system for these cases in future but in the meantime I'm very pleased with it. A bit heavy when empty but as rugged as they come!

I wanted a tool box for electrician tools and small electrical components.Although the DS150 is the smallest of the DeWalt tough system storage boxes, it's still very spacious. Not only that, but the construction of the case certainly justifies the "tough" in the tough system line.10/10 would recommend to anyone wanting a tough tool box for specialised tasks.Great inclusion of eight plastic insert organiser boxes.

Perfect, safe storage for my expensive camera lenses. This part number comes with a pre-formed inlay for a drill, and no small yellow tote bins for screws which is a cost saver for my use. I un-clip the inlay and cut some foam inserts to suit my lenses. Case can be securely locked in to the boot of the car as well as locked shut.Multiple uses, not just for site tools!

The quality you'd expect from DeWalt. I had read that there are fixed compartments under the removable tubs, but there aren't. Don't think I read that here, I did look into getting this from many suppliers. One thing worth noting - I have several of the TSTAK tool boxes, and expected this to fit onto them, but it doesn't - it's wider than the standard boxes.

This tool box smashes all other tool boxes in the face!!!Another Amazing product for DeWalt, I was worried about the size when I first ordered but it holds so much and is a lot bigger than I thought. The quality of the box is outstanding this thing will last years!I am getting another one next month on pay day would strongly recommend.

This box is rugged and robust. Very comfy handles for carrying especially if it's loaded with tools.I love the way they can all lock together and be carried also on the dewalt trolley system. These boxes aren't cheap but you do get quality and peace of mind that when you pick it up the ar@e isn't going to fall out of it...

Not bought but own one as the drill set came in this box. Very strong. Fallen out my van numerous times and it’s rock solid. My only beef is the yellow internal box lids couldbe more rigid. Nothing falls out but they could be better is the plastic had a sturdyridge molded in the plastic.

If you try to carry everything in your cordless drill case and can't close the top then this is for you.the yellow boxes stay in place even when you take some out . whether it'll withstand Bob the builder's 50kgs of bolster chisels dropped down two flights of stairs ,I don't know !!!!

Ordered this product and although structurally good and rugged the internal hinged lid storage bit has never worked and always falls down - I tried to contact the seller but they do not answer the phone. Overall okay but not impressed with the service/ options for repair or exchange.

20.5.2012

THIS IS TOUGH, GOOD DESIGN & VERY STRONG.AS YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM DEWALT, LID HOLDS EXTRA BITS. ITS LIGHT.& I THINK VERY GOOD VALUE. IT HOLDS MY 26 VOLT CHARGER & BATTS. SO ITS WHAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR.THE BOXES INSIDE ARE HANDY. I LIKE IT & I AM ORDERING ANOTHER ONE

30.3.2020

Genuinely tough and suited to heavy use. The only downside is the weight which is substantial especially if units are clipped together. With tools / stored items added, the user needs to be pretty strong. Something lighter, if more flimsy, might better suit some DIYers.
