I read another review that describes this as a 'good remake' of the mobile game, and official wording from Nintendo etc, - its really not.A 'remaster' is a new lick of paint bringing up an older game to modern standards but otherwise keeping it identical - a remaster is Age of Empires 2 Definitive (Nov 2019), Warcraft 3 Remaster, Halo Anniversary edition, Medievil, Shadow of the Collusus and so forth. A 'remake' is where an exsisting game is dramatically changed while following the same broad outline, so think Final Fantasy 7 remake for example. (And yes, you also have reboots like the new Tomb Raider game etc etc).Cytus on Switch is not a remake or a remaster,it is a near identical experiance to the game you probably have on the phone with the same background image, same gameplay and same music & notes. What it includes is (to my understanding) all the songs currently available on mobile, maybe with a few new ones (around 200). It includes (what it thinks) is a more intutive menu system (its not) and some online leaderboards and one or two minor stylistic changes. That said, its a lot of music - and a lot of gameplay. The Cytyus action (where you hit notes in time with a moving bar) is fast and furious on the harder difficulties and there is a great variety of music (particularly techno, some psuedo-j-pop and synth), all are available on the normal and the hard difficulty. The action is identical to the phone mode, and is especially good on the Switch Lite using the touchscreen, although it is possible (although impractical) to play in a gamemode using the X,Y buttons to strike notes instead. So I've given it five stars because I am a sucker for good rhythm action, its no Elite Beat Agens/Onedan (gosh i miss those) but it is fun, bite size entertainment. Note it is expensive, this is a game that should have been marketed for £19.99 tops (there is an included CD for those of you that still use a CD player outside of a car) so maybe look out for a price reduction.+ Good rhythm gameplay, wide variety of tunes+ Best edition of Cytus, particularly if you have only played the 'free' mobile version and want more+ Good minamalistic approch keeps focus on the gameplay and tunes- Overpriced for what it is - epecially if you have spent money on the mobile game- Incorrect use of the word 'remake' - would recommend 'definitive' instead- Makes you remember the good old days of Elite Beat Agents, when companies like Bioware and Bethesda made good games and so forth.
