This tripod is very light and compact, decently stable when extended, and the tiny ball head is surprisingly good (also removable, if you're into mix and match). The circular QR plate is an odd one and is basically designed to fit inside the legs when folded. The centre column arrangement is strange, and the column extension is really not worth having, as you gain a bit of height but lose stability; this is perhaps the one flaw.However, I have discovered that the centre column unscrews for removal and the head can be fitted direct to the column base. This makes the tripod a bit shorter but much more stable, and altogether a better proposition. Cullmann really should mention this.Overall,
