This travel tripod is truly compact at just over 8 inches closed and just over 1 pound weight. It is surprising stable when extended if you use only a compact or mirrorless camera. It is not intended for full frame professional cameras and big lenses. I use it with my Fuzi XT2 and 16-80 lens (2 Kilos). This is the heaviest camera I would use with this tripod. Be aware that it is only about 30 inches at maximum height - so not great for group photography. The central boss and the leg hinges are made of plastic and are a bit flexible which I was disappointed in...but this causes no issue in actual use. Be careful to twist the leg ends firmly and test the unit for rigidity before mounting your camera.
