My little boy absolutely loves playing with this set! Both items are lightweight but sturdy, which is great when it's being thrown around the room daily. The toaster comes with two pieces of play toast, and has a button which allows you to put the toaster "on", as you would a real toaster. The button can be a little hard to press, and I've found that my little boy can't press this all the way down by himself. There is also a dial which you can turn a little, which then sets a short timer for the toast to pop back up - it pops up with a fair bit of force, which is something that provides great entertainment. The kettle is great too, and could probably be used with cold water to actually pour, though this isn't something we've done yet. The only issue with the kettle we have found is the lid - it simply rests in the opening, which means when my little one is pretending to pour a cup of coffee (not tea, not sufficient caffeine supply!) the lid instantly falls off. It would be good to see the lid click in a little more, so that a small amount of force is required to put in and remove. It would also be good if the little light was an actual working light, that would come on when you flick the kettle on - I think my little boy would enjoy it, and it might give me a placebo-coffee hit.

I chose this set because it was the one that looked most like our real kettle and toaster at home. It's not a bad set - the size is probably about right for a preschooler, the styling is pretty good so it is a good enough representation of a real set. But, there are some niggles...The lid of the kettle is not a tight enough fit, so it falls off very easily, the kettle doesn't make a noise or light up or anything, but the biggest irritation is that the toaster is hard to operate. Even my almost 5 year old struggles to work it, and my 2 year old can only do it with help. What you need to do is put the pretend bread in the toaster, push the handle on the side down and then turn the dial and after about 2 or 3 seconds, the toast pops up. However, pushing down the handle is tricky as you have to press really quite hard, and then the dial is stiff to turn.PROSFairly convincing as a toaster and kettleNo batteries requiredComes with play toastCONSKettle lid falls off very easilyKettle doesn't make a noise or light upToaster is very stiff to operate

We recently purchased a wooden playhouse for our two year old Daughter. In it is a toy Cooker, Sink Unit, Refrigerator, Washing Machine, Dining Table, Chairs and loads of other stuff. As you might have gathered our Daughter loves role play. To finish off "Cupcake Cottage", we obviously needed some realistic small appliances. I've got to say, these products are very good. Our Daughter loves them!! She especially loves the fact that the toast actually pops up. I only have a very small criticism - the time between pushing the bread down and the toast popping back up is too short, there should be a longer delay to make it more realistic. I would recommend this product.

My 3 years old loves playing in his kitchen, and this realistic looking gadgets were perfest gift for him.The toast can be pushed in the slots and the button is then turned to make whirling noises. When the noise stops, the toast pops and my son laughs. To me that is worth every penny. The kettle doesn't do much, but he likes it all the same as he thinks it is a tea pot and he loves pooring teas for us.Not sure how durabel this will be as we only just gave it to him, but it looks pretty sturdy. I gave it 4 stars just in case it gets smashed tomorrow.Even if it does, I would probably buy it again.

I bought these to go with a great kitchen I got and my little guy loves them. The chrome look and scale is very much like an actual kettle and toaster. The toast pops out with a shock and he wants to keep filling the kettle with water (although then promptly pours it out wherever). The actions on the toaster and the clicking kettle switch are a little too hard for him to manipulate at 19 months but he likes trying to push to toast down and pour me 'tea' anyway. We have loads of fun.

Very realistic items and the toaster is just brilliant as the toast pops up realy high and my boy has hours of fun with this. Only thing against this product is that the kettle lid isnt very secure and keeps falling of which, I have no doubt, means that it will get lost at some point. Would have been better if the kettle made a noise and lit the on/off switch up, but my boy knows no different and loves playing with the item despite this. Guess you cant have everything!

another casdon item i have purchased for my little girls kitchen for christmas.Have had a nose at them and they are great, slightly smaller than i was expecting but then they are toys and suitable for toy kitchens so would be silly to be any bigger than what they are.Im not keen on the multi-coloured plasticky kitchen items but these are great and dont look cheap. My daughter will love that they look similar to mummys :)

Bought this as joint present for kids both under 3.5yrs. Had slight "blemishing" where it had been rubbing together in packaging, however this doesn't prove detrimental to the working of the product. They love the toaster however I think through time the wind mechanism may wear quite quickly. The kettle is basic, no noises or sounds, but both play away with them happily so that's what counts.

If I could give this more stars I would!! I bought this to go with my daughter's toy Kitchen she will get at Christmas. I am very impressed by the size and how real it looks. Also price very low for the standard of this toy. Pleasant surprise! Ordered on Sat and it came today which also impressed me at this time of year. Very happy and my daughter will love it.

Just received this product to go with a play kitchen for My twin 2 year old boys for Christmas. They love pretending To make cups of tea and I am sure they will love this kettle and toaster. Product is good quality and well worth the price. Speedy delivery and well packaged. Overall very pleased and cannot wait for christmas day to arrive!

Lovely little set. Decent size and realistic looking. Lever to push down for the toast to pop up was rather stiff - our 2 year old grandson will struggle to do it, but presumably it will loosen up with use. And timer is a bit quick - toast pops up within a couple of seconds. But can't complain for the price

Absolutely brilliant! so realistic and a great size for toy kitchens. Colour better than any other I have seen. Toaster makes my son roll around in hysterics...but watch out, it pops up fast and high!! Wish the kettle made a boiling noise, but it has a cute on/off switch.Would deffinately recommend!

Love the toaster, read the reviews before I bought , so knew the kettle would be slightly disappointing, but I, like others LOVE the toaster. I know my grandadughter will love it as its just like mummys. Its better than the brightly coloured version, as its realistic, and thats what children like.

Bought this for my 2 year old granddaughter. She loves the pop up action of the toast in the toaster but unfortunately the kettle button broke within hours, the material seems rather brittle for a child's toy and tougher plastic would have been better. However she has lots of fun with this set
