When required for Digital Photography a Tripod has a number of uses and applications many of which I've detailed below.1: It allows you to keep your camera far more steady than is possible by hand which means sharpershots. This has the advantage of aiding your photography in low light conditions or whenphotographing moving subjects.2: It makes it possible to use slower shutter speeds (for example when photographing waterfalls)without introducing camera shake.3: When photographing landscapes it ensures that the horizon is kept level.4: To support the camera for long periods of time.5: To help in certain photographic shots, such as panning or bracketing,HDR and panoramic.6: For group portraits or when you want to be included in a photograph when using the self timer.7: They aid in both macro work and "low level" photography. In reality a Tripod has a great deal many more uses, and this "Camlink TP-2800" tripod with a three way Pan & Tilt head is capable to them all. With tripods on the market up to and sometimes well into a three figure cost I would curious to find out exactly how good this budget model actually was.Firstly product features are plentiful and go beyond what you would expect at this price range. Included is a free carry case which is good quality. The tripod itself has a carrying handle build on to it's body, two spirit levels to help you level up shots, a braced centre column with a hood on it's base (for adding weight in windy conditions or keeping you camera bag off the ground), telescopic legs that expand to a useful height of 160cm, self leveling feet and a quick release plate to name the majority.Build quality of the tripod body is very good being of solid construction and well assembled. However the tripod head is only of average quality, it's not the smoothest when moving with a camera attached and does take a bit of practice. At 1.4kg in weight it's not the heaviest on the market so it's not unreasonable to carry but it's worth noting that a lighter tripod would struggle in windy conditions so this may prove a disadvantage. It expands easily from it's packed form to it's full height within a matter of seconds so you won't miss any shots. The quick release plate is a god send as it allows you to detach your camera in a second should you need it. The tripod is very stable even on uneven ground and the self leveling feet compensate should you be on rocky ground. This tripod would suit photographers more than those interested in shooting video, mainly to that ball & head. I did record video a few times and found that the lack of smoothness did make the video jump every now and again as you swing from left to right. There are many advantages to buying a tripod and if your on a budget then this "Camlink TP2800" model is ideal for most. It has a few faults but these are greatly outweighed by it's advantages. Considering the cost (£27.60 at time of reviewing) it really is great value and out classes many more expensive tripods.

I'm rather new to photography and am just getting into it but I've known my stuff about tripods for a few years as I've been big into videography over the past couple years and I decided to buy a new tripod for taking round me.This tripod is increndible value for money. I've spent between £20-£30 on tripods before and they've been absolutely terrible however this one is actually awesome, the build quality is great and the features are awesome. It's really quite sturdy and it's not that heavy to carry round either, fits perfectly on my rucksack tripod holder and doesn't add to much weight on your back when carrying it round. It's honestly an awesome tripod. If your looking for a cheap and good, reliable tripod this one is the way to go, the picture and description don't do this product justice. You won't find it cheaper anywhere else with the quality of service that Amazon offer either. Grab it now.

Small, light and perfect for steadying a video camera - seriously improves your normally shaky handiwork.Very simple to set up, just start pulling and twisting the various knobs until it works! Good height for all work (I'm just under 6') including photography. Hoping to use it with a DSLR when I finally get round to getting one.The gold / brown finish is quite nice too - not so shiny and stand-out as normal silver.Only downsides are the bubble levels - the head doesn't quite sit flat and moves independent of the rest of the tripod, so it's not likely to level on both head and feet at the same time. The bubbles are not standard spirit level (cross-tube) type either - just a bump with a bubble and centre dot (o)making fine tuning almost impossible.Still, seems like a reasonable quality bit of kit for the price.

I have to agree with the other two reviewers and say that is a very good piece of equipment for the money. The tripod is also fairly sturdy, well built, and looks good with its light bronze finish. It has some great features like the three way panhead, quick release platform, centre bracing to help with stability and rigidity and a weight stabiliser hook. There are some nice touches that i didn't expect like the swivel feet on the leg ends and two spirit bubbles. I'm just over six feet tall and when the centre is cranked up it is more than tall enough for me to stand properly and comfortably. When packed away in its own shoulder bag the tripod is a reasonable length at 66cm and at 1.4kg isn'tto excessive to take away when travelling.

Just taken up photgraphy as a hobby. Needed tripod. Didn't want to go to expense at first. Reviewed several tripods, and was happy with specs on this. Only risk I took was no review on weight it would hold. I have a Nikon D40 DSLR. It sits well on it, no issues encountered, have been out with it several times. On both even and uneven ground, but like with most, you would check first stability. Very light to carry around. Bag helpful to store and carry, then when out in the field, leave bag behind and use handle. Haven't yet used in extreme conditions, due to lightness of it, would weigh it down. Am I happy YES, would I buy it again YES.

As a beginner exploring all the manual settings on my new Canon 500D camera I needed a tripod and wanted one that was lighweight but sturdy. This fits the bill as far as I am concerned. Easy to carry around when out walking the dog and light enough to take on holiday when I next go away. I love the quick release feature as it makes taking the camera on and off so much quicker and the bubble spirit levels are useful. My biggest lens is a Canon 55-250mm and I've taken some great shots with it. Combined with a remote release I'm having great fun.

Being of somewhat advanced years (Retired) and fairly new to the photographic hobby, I wanted a tripod which was functional, lightweight and didn't put much of a strain on the wallet. Having read the reviews for various products, I decided that the CAMlink TP-2800 fitted the bill. I am not disappointed. Sturdy and yet lightweight, easy to put up and take down, this is an excellent piece of kit. Although it may not have all the refinements of more expensive models, it will certainly meet the needs of an enthusiastic amateur such as myself.

I bought this tripod to use with a Bosch Laser level. I was originally going to buy the Bosch tripod, but was not particularly impressed with the build quality (which is surprising for Bosch). Instead I settled on the CamLink TP-2800, and I'm definitely glad I did. This is a great tripod for the price and has all the features you would need. The 2 bubble levels are very handy (particularly for use with a laser level - but I would imagine also very useful for a camera). It feels sturdy enough, and the free carry case is a definite bonus.

This Tripod was purchased as a starter tripod for video. It is good for the Money but when I moved up to DSLR Rigs weighing 2.5 kg, the head with its plastic components just dosent work. It is 'sticky' and any small element of smoothness I experienced before, disappeared. However, this Tripod is not meant for heavy DSLR rigs so, I think that for its purpose, it is great. It provides a quite smooth video with very light cameras and I was impressed by its maximum height.Overall, this is a good beginners Tripod but can be improved.

Product arrived in good time, and I gave it a test run immediately. I found it to be sturdy and well constructed, and everything works as advertised. I particularly chose this model as it is higher than most, which means I can use my camera without having to bend down a huge amount. I also liked the quick release plate as this allowed me to detach and re-attach my camera with ease.It may not be the most expensive tripod on the market, but it has all the features I want and represents very good value for money.

For less than £30 I'm very happy with this tripod. I took some pictures of the moon the other night using a 270 lens. Which at full extent is a pretty long and heavy lens. The tripod coped very well and the pictures came out fine, with the moon craters showing very clearly. The plate sits flush on mine. If you are even in the slightest doubt about this product then you should not be looking at the £30 and less mark. Try more £150-£200. Then you should have no reason to complain.

I use this with a Canon 50D fitted with a 70-200mm L Lens. It's very stable and well made. It even comes with a good quality carry bag. Yes it's light weight but thats what I wanted as I didn't want to be carrying around a heavy tripod. If you want a tripod that has a nice "Name" on it and foam on the legs to keep your hands warm then buy an expensive one. if you want one that holds you camera and lens steady while you take photos, then buy this one! Highly recommended.

Just got this today and i only ordered it two days ago so that was good but anyway. The tripod itself is realy good, this is only my first tripod so i dont know much about them but id say that this is a great tripod for the money, only thing that i didnt like was that it didnt come with any instructions but i managed to figure out how it worked within 10mins.Over all it works great and is realy smooth.

For some time my husband had suggested that I should get myself a tripod to improve the standard of photos I could take with my cannon camera. Particularly close up shots. Well, eventually I bought this tripod as it was well reviewed. I agree with the reviews that it really is a good tripod at a reasonable price, and although quite light is very stable. A good buy for me.

I love this tripod. So far I am yet to find a fault to it.The main reasons why it's so good are:It's actually taller than meIt's easily ajustableYou can add a weightYou can easily firmly attach a camcorder or most cameras to the top with easeYou can tilt it if you so chooseIt's very compact and fits in its carry case easilyI would recommend this tripod to everyone
