My son (4 yo) has a growing collection of Brio train paraphernalia and this fits right in.He has obviously lost the small boulder but the magnet can pick up other suitable substitutes and the winder at the back to raise the crane is still functioning after some reasonably robust play. The crane is quite high in relation to other brio trains and so has problems getting the cranes under bridges, so you may need to assist in track design.Overall, solidly built and enjoyed by our son whenever it's played with. Great addition to the Brio train set.

Turn the dial to lower/ lift the magnet head; The rock has two holes at the bottom and a metal plate on top and compatible with other brio products; The green base of the trailer also comes off and can be played with other brio products. But you may not like the fact that the green base comes off the trailer completely.

I bought this for my three-year-old grandson's birthday and he absolutely loves it. He hasn't yet mastered how to wind the crane up and down but that doesn't stop him loading and unloading his trains time after time while lost in his own world of imagination. He is completely absorbed by it!

Bought this to expand my 5 year old's wooden Brio universe. They can do no wrong in his little eyes. Anything Brio do with wheels that roll along his track and roads... and magnets to link them all together, is an instant winner. Well made wooden caricatured vehicles. What's not to like?!

A nice toy but for the moment it is top heavy for a 2 year old. He tried to play with it but it all kept toppling over. Very frustrating! So I have taken it back and will give it to him again in a couple of months or so. will start by lifting paper clips so he gets used to it.

The crane has slight balance problems. Also, we keep loosing the small green part from the cart, it is very unfortunately design. Otherwise — very educational and compatible with other brio toys: boxes from cargo set also fit well into the cart.

A very nice Brio crane, my two and a half year old grandson loves it. He has so much Brio, passed down through all the children from my 35 year old son, each child has added their pieces to the train set.

This little crane is a great addition to the basic railway system that we have. Very durable and lots of fun. My son was 18 months when we got it. He's playing with it under supervision and loving it.

This was a Christmas present for my 2 and half year grandson, it arrived quickly and well packed from Amazon. The crane is a little fiddly for small fingers but he enjoyed adding it to his long train.

This is a great little addition to my 3 yr old sons wooden train set. It can be fiddly though, the crane is rarely used because of this, but I'm sure as he gets older it'll be used all the time.

Brio toys are always well made and perfect for tiny hands. A perfect addition for my 2 year old grandson's Brio train set.He loves the magnetic block and manouevering the crane to pick it up.

My son is train obsessed and loves this addition to his railway. He has others in the set which work in tandem. Ideally, I feel, you need some of the same make vehicles to properly interact

I bought it to my 2 year old nephew and he loved it! Maybe a little earlier for manual handling but he will be able to do it soon definitely. Recommending it to anyone.

In my opinion, all Brio is overpriced, hence the rating. Other than that our 5 year old grandson loves it which, when all said and done, is what matters most.

16.3.2014

Bought him a railway system based on Brio, and it's cheaper and mostly just as good mimics. He loved crashes, so I said he needed a breakdown train. Perfect.
