**Update 24th November 2018**I bought this for a great price through Amazon Warehouse. I had assumed that I would not be entitled to the standard warranty support from Brabantia. I contacted Brabantia support because the lid mechanism kept separating from the lid collar. I expected that I would have to pay for a replacement. However, I was pleasantly surprised that, after sending a copy of my invoice from Amazon which clearly identified that it was an Amazon Warehouse purchase and was not unblemished, they sent me out a replacement lid at no cost. I have 5 different bins of different sizes and this is the second that I have had to get a warranty replacement for a lid - they make the process

The name alone - Brabantia - should be enough to convince you that this is a seriously well-thought-out product. Brabantia's reputation - for first-class products that are beautifully engineered and well designed - is well deserved. And this compact de luxe slide bin does not disappoint. Use it free standing or wall mounted (bracket supplied) and it would grace any kitchen, bathroom or small office.The bin can be used one-handed; the push-lid is cleverly designed to go both inwards and upwards at the same time - to limit the chance of contact with the bin contents. This is a smart and stylish (though admittedly quite expensive) waste-bin. In my view it's a bit small for the kitchen but fine for the bathroom. The lid is cleverly designed for one-handed operation and opens and closes smoothly. It comes with its own starter supply of plastic bags, but could be used with standard supermarket pedal-bin bags as well.The bin is solidly constructed and fairly heavy, so it wouldn't easily be knocked over. My one slight reservation is that the plastic bags don't fit inside quite as neatly as I might have hoped. The inner bucket has a metal handle, but once a plastic bag has been fitted you can't pick it up by this. This aspect of the design feels slightly awkward to me,

The Brabantia slide bin is just what I needed.. I didn't want a big bin in the kitchen as I'd never let it fill as it would stink by then. Much better to have a bigger one in the utility (along with the recycling one)and a small one in the kitchen. At this point you may think I've spent too much time thinking about bins but if you've read this far then it probably bothers you too :). A brabantia 5 litre slide bin sounded ideal. Off the floor at a convenient height and a stylish look too. I wasn't disappointed. It was dead simple to fit and I got the screw holes in the grout between tiles, so no long term damage. I also bought the Brabantia bin liners which fit perfectly and are so easy to use.

I always thought a bin was just a bin. Brabantia bins are definitely different though, with these you get a much more solid build, a bin that will almost last forever, and always look the part.This little bin functions in a similar way to a swing bin, if you push the lid a little, it will swing back closed, however with this, you can push the lid further, and it will stay open, closing with a quick tap on the top. The finish of both the bin and the sturdy plastic lid is excellent, and it comes supplied with a 5 pack of Brabantia bin liners too, which can be tied closed. If you don't want to buy more, a typical supermarket carrier bag fits in fine too.This bin might be expensive,

Bought this for my bathroom, but moved it to the kitchen to use for food waste, as it could be attached to the kitchen wall at a comfortable height and was much prettier than the compost caddy anyway. I use compostable waste bags, and the bin is large enough to hold half-a-week's waste without any smells. It is easy to keep clean with a simple wipe, which I sadly need to do every so often after emptying wet tea leaves into the bin... The sliding lid is both useful and a nuisance - it is useful for a wall-mounted bin, but reduces the available space. (I replaced this bin with a 5l pedal bin in my bathroom, which has more usable space.) Also, as the lid won't stay up,

This is the Rolls Royce is bins for style and look. "No bin bags showing" the bin bag is contained between the outer and inner bucket so it us not on show. I am not too fussed about it showing. The bin does look great and it is being used in bathroom. I found the space for putting the rubbish in rather small.... What I mean is that when you flip the lid with your hand it's designed to expose only 2/3 of the top which is rather small. You can still use supermarket bags with it or fir a better look use their own bags. A pack of their bin bags is delivered with it.Update...I’ve owned this for nearly 5 years now and it still being used.

We like the look but find the inside collection bucket sits further down than we had hoped,making it seem much bigger on the outside - I expect it's so the lid can move freely.Not cheap - mounts on bathroom wall - mounting included, maybe i'd go a little bigger for a family bathroom - ok for single occupant or people who are away a lot.No issues with construction or plastics etcAs with all premium brands you pay more, but there's a 10 year warranty on all of this companies bins, and they actually do replace parts via post free no question on our older big bins - real people on the phone too!

This is a nice, small and compact bin that I've found ideal for food waste in the kitchen. Like other reviewers have said, it's not big enough to use as an all purpose bin but is more than adequate for something such as this.The bin comes with a handy wall attachment, and also a reel of bags which is probably the only time you'll use them as they cost a fortune.I can't fault the quality or the look, but I would suggest that you are paying over the odds because of the name. Aside from the price, I can't find anything to fault it.

This is a fantastic product. Perfect for the disposal of bathroom rubbish, but also equally suited to any other room. It is well made (like most Brabantia products), extremely easy to clean and the lid mechanism is almost a joy operate (sad but true!). The lid itself hides away unsightly rubbish. The additional bonus is that it can be fixed to the wall, making it easy to clean the floor area underneath. It is more pricey than the average bin, but this is no average bin. It is well worth the investment. You will not be disappointed.

We have tried several bins in our kitchen and bathroom over the years, ped lids, push lids, and they have all falied within a year or two. We chose this one partly because of the reputation of the company but mostly because of the design. I have considerable faith that this design will do the job. I love the brushed chrome finish, it is a solid design, and although I won't be fitting it to the wall, the fitting is not manditory and the slots that hold the wall fitting are small an unobtrusive. Looks great and feels well built.

Small, but convenient, this bin has a lid that is weighted so that it automatically closes after it's been opened. The box it comes in also includes a few bin liners as well. It is robustly constructed i.e. it won't fall over easily. I recommend it for potentially unpleasant-smelling waste.If you're like me, you'll want to get this bin just for the sake of pushing it open and seeing it pop closed again most satisfyingly. Push, close, push, close - ah simple minds!

Very well made. Cleverly designed lid. But calling the bin 'Pure White' and showing the bin and matching Brabantia items close in colour to white bathroom porcelain in the bathroom set photo fooled me. 'Off White' would seem fairer and the lid is described on the box as 'Cool Grey', not almost black as it appears on a colour-corrected screen. See photo comparison with white printer paper and black background. I shall be buying a steel version instead.

This is my bathroom bin as it is too small to be used anywhere else in my home. It is compact, a nice colour and blends in with the rest of the decor. In the usual brabantia style, the outer bin shell houses a bucket inside to which the liner is placed. This bin also comes with a complimentary pack of liners to get you started out of the box. It is a nice product but quite expensive for what it does.

Purchased for small bedroom. Looks smart and of good quality, lid hides rubbish, no unsightly liner over top of bin, and easy to empty.There is quite a bit of wasted space between inner bucket and outer bin, but this does allow for storage of bin liners underneath inner bucket. The only niggle is how small the opening in the lid is.
