I've decided to pass on an evening of Hedonism with people half my age to sit at home and write this review for a bin. Whilst all those young people are disappointed, I am not - my bin is lovely. When it arrived, the size of the packaging confused me: had I ordered a small car or maybe a medium-sized moon? No. I'd bought a bin. I'd bought a bin that came with so much packaging I've had to order 8 more bins to put the box in*. Seriously, a tree gave up its life for this bin's packaging. A big tree. The bin is absolutely fine - it certainly arrived intact due to it having as much protection as a Presidential motorcade. It's nice and light; you can lift it with one hand. It's compact and I much prefer the 'push to open'lid than a pedal. I do wonder if, at some stage, the clip in the lid will succumb to wear and tear, or maybe it's just a light, but perfectly fine mechanism. I shall be positive and go for the latter. The clip that holds the bag in place is okay and no bother to sort out. It all works nicely. Also, it arrived within 24 hours of being ordered and I'm not a Prime customer [not until The Grand Tour comes back, anyway].It's now at home in the kitchen and has already caught the eye of a few people who have liked it. I just need someone to empty it now, although it will probably fall to me - as usual.* denotes a bit of an exaggeration

I don't normally get excited about a rubbish bin. However, this is the second one I have bought of this style. I needed a second compact bin for recycle stuff. I have a very small kitchen so the conventional round bins stuck out from the wall taking up far to much space. This bin is a half moon shape so it sits flush against the wall. It holds just as much rubbish as a conventional bin at 40L and easy accommodates a black bin bag full of rubbish.I notice other reviewers complaining that the pop up lid spring has broken in a short time. I have NOT found that problem with my bin. The touch lid mechanism works perfect and this is after 8 months of use. The lid is great at keeping the smells in and the fly's out !!I love that you can secure the bin liner in place at top so it does not sink into the bin. Some of my lazy household members tend to chuck rubbish into the bin without checking it has a bin liner in place!! This great idea of securing the liner at the top saves loads of inner bin cleaning and loads of arguments !!!This design of bin is definitely sexy and worth the purchase .. Delivery is fast .. design is perfect for space saving kitchens. It looks smart , clean and sexy . I recommend wholeheartedly !

We bought this to replace one of those ones with automated lid openings, which at first seemed like the future of rubbish disposal at the time but soon became the most annoying thing ever - if you so much as glanced at it the lid would eagerly flip open in expectation of you feeding it a tasty rubbish treat, even if you were just walking through the kitchen on the way to the toilet for example. What initially started as a glimpse into a better future ended up as a dystopian nightmare where I was scared to visit my own kitchen without a sacrificial offering to the bin god. We eventually took back control and fed the bin it's own batteries in some awful cannibalistic ritual, but at least it stopped it opening every 30 seconds. This bin then does not feature any self-opening mechanism, nor does it support Bluetooth, 4G or have a full HD curved LED screen to display the contents on the lid. It's just a bin. A bin you open by touching it on the top, and close by pushing the lid back down. And my life is infinitely better for it.

So far so good! Received way before the projected delivery date (which seems to always be the case irrespective of what type of delivery I choose) and decently packaged. We had been without an actual bin since we moved in at the end of March, so this was sorely needed. The opening is sensitive but feels solid, in that it won't flip and feel like it's going to break if you do accidentally press too hard, however it is something I'm wearing of given the other reviews for this product. The mechanism to hold a trash bag in place seems easy enough though I confess I've not had to empty it since receiving it, so we'll see. It fits a 'standard'bag easily so I was glad I didn't have to bother going out to buy a specific size or thickness for the purposes of this. The bin as a whole is light though it gives the appearance of being heavy and more expensive than it was. Fits nicely against the side of our 60/40 fridge freezer.

We were torn as to whether this would be as good as a Brabantia or other high-end bin. Of course it wasn’t. But it’s also about a quarter of the price. One year on, the bin has borne up reasonably well. They gave a guarantee for the open/close mechanism, and that seems to have held. There was a period where it wasn’t locking closed, but that seems to be either because the bin liner was getting in the way of the mechanism and stopping it catching, or because the little prongs inside the mechanism weren’t correctly aligned so that one was on either side of the hook.In short, almost everything - The base, the finish, and the mechanism has held up well. The only thing which hasn’t done well is that the entire top section comes off too easily, so that every time you change the bin liner the entire top comes off with the liner, and then putting it back before you put the new liner in.

Bought this to replace a small plastic swing top bin on a work surface in our kitchen that I hated, when scarping off plates the rubbish used to get on the swing top and it didn't hold much rubbish, nightmare. My wife had bought one of these on special from Tescos, I thought it was great and I wanted one for in the kitchen and when I saw this on my favourite shopping place, Amazon I pressed the buy it now. Now the really sad part, I love cooking, I also love loading the dishwasher??? This is when I have to scrape off the remnants from the plates in particular from the Grandkid's plates and what I hated doing into the old swingbin so I was really excited about this purchase. How sad is this then when I get really excited about receiving delivery of a rubbish bin but I was and so far it has been perfect, I still get a buzz every time i use it, go on buy one!

Sad as it might sound; this is possibly one of the best purchases I've made in terms of value for money.Yes, it's just a bin. But as far as I'm concerned, it's THE bin. It's slim. It's simple. It's black. It's got a little inside rim mechanism that both hides your bin bag, making the bin look tidy at all time, but that also helps you remove full bin bags. It's got a little push lock mechanism that means the dog can't just push the lid open. The slim nature of the bin also artificially limits the amount of waste you can put inside. This means that even if you cram the bin full and push everything down the bin bag is not overfilled. It's always annoying when you've got to change/empty the bin. This bin takes that somewhat annoying job and makes it about as un-annoying as it possible given that you still have to empty a bin.Would definitely buy again.

I was a bit dubious at first whether or not to buy this bin with it being plastic. However, it was Amazons number 1 best seller, so I thought I would give it a go and I'm so glad I did this bin is brilliant! The flat edge means it can Go/Stand against a wall or unit easily. I love the colour, it fits perfectly in my kitchen, and as it is plastic (it doesn't look it), it is easily cleaned and show fingerprints neither to.The insert of new bags is quick & easy to do you just pop the lid up, remove the grey plastic that keeps the bag from slipping down, (geniuses idea), and remove; it's that simple.Compared to other more expensive bins, this bin is an excellent buy and can see why it is a best seller here on Amazon.I will not go back to metal now I have tried plastic.Overall I'm delighted with my new bin and would recommend it to anyone 100%.

We've had this bin for nearly four years and couldn't be more pleased with it. Although it's plastic it looks like aluminium, and the fact that it's plastic means it doesn't rust (which we found with previous bins). It still looks in great condition today. The ring insert in the opening aperture means you can satisfyingly tuck in the edges of the bin bag so it always looks neat. The only tiny issue is that sometimes, if the bag is very full, a kind of vacuum can be created, making pulling it out of the bin slightly difficult. But there's a knack to this which you soon get the hang of! I like that there isn't a pedal as I always find that that's another place for dirt to become trapped, and there isn't an open-and-shut sensor which often break; the click-open-and-shut function of the lid is extremely easy and is still working perfectly today.

I bought this to replace a Branbantia 50L tough top bin which had finally got too old and broken after around 11 years of constant family use. Couldn't believe how expensive it would be to replace my old bin like for like and found this Curver one instead.I have to say that it is brilliant. Looks good and does the job perfectly. Love the inner ring that holds the bin bag in place and tucks the edges away nicely. No need to use expensive bin bags a black refuse sack works fine and no over hanging bag. Colour and design are both great. Looks the part in my kitchen. SO glad I didn't fork out around £120 for the Brabantia when I actually like this bin better!!Whether it lasts as long as my old bin remains to be seen but for the price, as long as it lasts at least 3 years it is a good deal (and it has a 5 year guarantee anyway).

So if you're like me you'll have agonised for ages, reading reviews, checking out different styles and materials and opening mechanisms, agonising over which one to buy that was good value, yet not too cheap for every day use. This fits the bill. If you're hesitating just go for it. It's super lightweight as it's entirely made from plastic, but it also looks nice and I'd believe it was brushed metal if I was told so. The open/close push lid works very well so far (have had it about a month, I think) and no issues with changing bin bags. However, I already know from past experience that the trick to removing the bag - which some will report as difficult as it feels stuck in there - is to pull gently,at which it will slowly slide out. If you apply force and try to yank it out, it will be harder due to vacuum suction.

This is the loveliest bin I have ever had and I have had many!! I am so pleased I saw it at the reduced price because it would have been beyond my budget otherwise! It fits into the extremely precise space I have for it which was the most important criteria for me. Being plastic it is easy to clean and will not get rusty over time. The lid fits down perfectly with just a slight pressure and if you want to hide the bag you just tuck it under the rim and clamp the inner rim down on it so that it is all nice and tidy! I don't know why some reviews I read said that it was a fiddle to fit and took some getting used to etc!!....It is obvious what to do and very easy to do it!I am delighted with this bin and I hope it will last me for years and then I will buy another just the same if they are still around!

I could start by saying a bin is just a bin, but this is alittle bit more than that. Not only does it hold alot of rubbish, but fits nicely flush against the wall. The internal clip which holds the liner in place, stays in nicely and even with a full bag and it doesn't slip. The one touch mechanism to open the bin is easy to use, even a small child could operate this. You may just need to be mindful to make sure to click it closed, otherwise it does pop open if your not careful. The only downside I can find if there is any is the fact that for a piece of plastic ( which essentially it is ) its very expensive. Curver states that it is a "metal effect", but in my opinion it looks plastic. But if your going for a theme in your kitchen and don't have alot of space, then this one is for you.

I bought this bin after I broke the lid of my old grey plastic one. I wanted something that looked nice, and was a bit more slimline. It has a really nice shiny outside surface. Says on the label, well not mark or score. We have had it nearly two weeks and its still blemish free. The size of it is excellent and its narrow but tall, perfect for the space in my kitchen. Its a touch top opening which is really handy, i have my doubts though about whether it will hold up to the kids, after it came out of the box my daughter stood and opened and closed it around twenty times in a row.Overall it was a good price, holds enough, looks good and is very practicale. The clip round the top is the best part,it means you can put a bin bag in without actually seeing it from the outside.

Bought this to replace the bin in our student house (which has a broken lid and is now being used as the recycling bin instead), so far it’s been great. It looks very smart, it’s easy to use, the only thing I would say is the suction is very strong so you have to pull the bag out very slowly - I think I’ll drill a few holes in the bottom to try and solve this. Only had it a couple of weeks so can’t speak for the longitivtiy, but thus far we’re 4 happy students, and so long as it continues to work until the end of the year (which I don’t see why it wouldn’t) I will probably take it home with me so I already have a bin at the ready if I ever get my own house!Even if the click lid feature stops working after the year it’ll have been worth the money at that price.
