Much like the other versions of this game this is a flashy anime fighter, and one of the genre's best. Packed with more fighters than ever before the game doesn't get old as fast as some of the earlier iterations. The balance changes feel apt, and even veteran characters has seen quite a lot of change since the first BB.The game is still very hard to get into for a novice to the fighting game genre. There are modes to help you improve at the game, but that alone will never make you excellent fighter. However, that said the game can still be fun on a novice to intermediary level. Undoubtedly to get the most out of the game the time spent will be a factor; be it in the long and complicated story mode,or the stiff challenges of online play. It will take some time, but the game plays well in shorter bursts so no need to clear a weekend for just a couple of matches. It should come down to whether or not you like the style of the game, the fighters, the flash, the combat. If you like what you see and don't mind spending some time to learn the basics then there is fun to be had at all levels. The button imputes are hard especially if you are new to fighting games. You need to be aware of that. There are ways around it in the game, but that is no way to play in my opinion. Button mashing will not get you far in this game.Read full review...

I've played hundreds near to thousands of games, and in that hundreds of fighting games, the Blazblue series has always been a solid choice and having an in depth story and character design that is as unique as it is innovative. If you enjoyed BBCP then I'd recommend this game, it's extremely complex but at the same time can be played by anyone of any skill level, the only issue that is unacceptable so far that I've encountered in my few hours of playing so far is inexcusable, they've provided a dub in all the previous games and it was unequivocally well received, however for only the lord knows why they'd completely ignore this, you no longer have the option for the English Dub with the charismatic voice actors that once roamed it's realms. These issues aside it's a solid fighter and has many hours to sink into.

Blazblue Central Fiction is a 2D anime fighting game, it comes with various modes including a story mode, arcade mode, vs mode, speed star mode (time attack) and various other modes, the game features network battles as well and a good roster of characters none of which need to be unlocked, the game has plenty of variety in modes and characters so can be fun to play by yourself or with friends, though it is a later entry in the series story wise it is a good introduction to blazblues many characters and i would recommend it for people wanting to see how blazblue plays or if they want something that is arguably better than cross tag. There is no english voice acting but subtitles are provided.

So glad they released this for PS3. Probably the PS3's fighting game swansong. Features same content as the PS4 version, crossplay, 35 characters, very detailed story mode etc. Just has a lower frame rate and screen resolution (720p) than the PS4 version, though if you are used to fighters on the PS3 then you won't notice any difference. Still looks gorgeous and plays great - an absolute bargain for the low price that this was released at. Yes it doesn't have an English dub (sound is Japanese with English subtitles), but to be honest I was glad that a BlazBlue with this amount of content was given a disk release in the West. Recommended.

Arrived nicely in secure, plastic film. I have yet to play this but as a returning BlazBlue fan, I'm sure it'll be exciting. For new players interested in the fighting aspect , there's usually a practice mode but for new players interested in its story as well, there should also be a section for lore history to look back on---or just start with the very first game "Calamity Trigger" and play through the others, because Central Fiction is the finale. (Might seem like a hassle but the individual stories and bonus gag reels and "Teach Me, Miss Litchi!" sections are enjoyable).

Videogame endings are hard to come to, and BlazBlue is no exception. However there comes a time where things have to occur. BlazBlue Central Fiction is a well earned end and a great buy. People may be saddened at the conspicuous lack of an English dub, but I at least see no impact on my enjoyment of the game. The gameplay does get a bit stagnant at times, but I at least enjoyed the game regardless. Between the rock soundtrack, emotionally challenging story scenes and lovely backgrounds, there is something for everyone.

This game introduced one of my few last physical human friends to games that utilize a classic fighting game style, you know, a fighting game you play with your friends on the couch with a complete roster and not a bunch of locked DLC characters behind a paywall? it's incredibly fun and addictive, each character feels unique, the stages look amazing, and this is a clear contender for one of the best OST's i've ever heard in a fighting game.Seriously, pick this game up before it gets rare and expensive!

This is/was my favorite fighting game for a very long time. The balance since path 2.0 has been super fair. It's challenging but also surprisingly approachable with most of the cast. The plot of these games is pretty in-depth for a fighting game if....a bit convoluted (it's as anime as you'd expect).
