This is my third BlackBerry handset, after the Curve and the Passport. As a fan, I was disappointed that BlackBerry decided not to carry on with their OS. I have used Android phones before and hated them so have resisted as long as I could. I hesitated a long time before buying - Motion or KeyOne. The keyboard won me. To be honest, I had not thought so much about the keyboard and expected the same as the Passport's but it was a massive surprise to have the traditional BlackBerry keyboard and it felt so natural to be typing. The keys are soft and very responsive.I initially set up the handset without transferring any content from my previous phone and found it easy to do so.The transfer between BlackBerry OS and Android was also straightforward through the BB Content Transfer app though I was very selective about what I transferred over because I wanted to make sure I personalise my handset as much as I could - that was one of BlackBerry OS10's forte. The KeyOne however, does not offer the array of customisation which the Passport offered, for example, sound profiles, LED notifications are limited (unless you download apps from Google Play Store which I am not keen on)As another reviewer mentioned, the BlackBerry KeyOne is heavily connected to Google and this is a weakness and took some tweaking of individual app settings to remove the Google backup etc functionality. The Hub is one of the best features which has remained from BB10 OS but again, some customisation options have been lost.I have an iPhone SE for work and the fingerprint sensor never recognise my digits after 24hours which is extremely annoying. The KeyOne's sensor lives up to its function and has recognised my fingerprints without much issue.I noticed when I set the phone up that the handset's overall volume is lower than the Passport. As I am hard of hearing, this concerned me but I was amazed by my first phone call. Even though BBB100-2 doesn't offer hearing aid compatibility, the sound quality (clarity) is very good and there is little feedback from my hearing aid. It's a pity that the KeyOne doesn't come in white :(Another downside with the Android OS is that BlackBerry (or TCL) decided to forego their photo and video apps, again relying instead on Google apps. Finally, it is a major let down that KeyOne users in UK have not been sent the latest update when it has been released elsewhere. The new update gives more functionality that the Passport had, for example, un/hiding photos. All in all, it is a beautiful handset and paradoxically, I am happy that I moved to Android OS with a BlackBerry handset.UPDATE:My Blackberry KeyOne received the AAT-166 update today 15/01/2018, with it comes a File Manager and the Locker app! Fantastic.18/01/2018, in regards to customisation, I have been able to replicate a lot of the settings I had on my BlackBerry Passport, however, the interface is less user friendly. For example, different sounds for different type of messages, for emails you have access to customisation options in the Hub but for text messages, in the Hub you can only change the LED notification colour. To change the sound, you need to go to the text messages app. A tad messy.

This phone is absolutely AMAZING. Keeps up easily in 2019 with all the latest apps! Some things to bear in mind though:- If you rotate through a lot of apps install greenify to stops apps hogging memory or the phone will slow, the phone will notify you when it's running low. Don't let this put you off, I currenly have spotify, facebook, tinder, amazon app, chrome, keep notes, calculator, whatsapp, FB messenger and audible running in background with 0 lag. As well as 3 widgets on the home.- from what I gather loads of updates can cause issues with lag. When you buy this phone install ALL the system updates before you set up anything. Then do a factory reset and wipe the phone, the updates will stay and you can then set it up with no lag issues.- I also disabled any blackberry apps I dont use that may run in background... which was pretty much all of them.As someone with mild dyslexia this phone is an absolute godsend, the physical keyboard makes writing so easy. Once you get used to the layout you can type as fast as a PC keyboard, no one with a touch screen will come anywhere close to typing as fast as with this. The in built spell check is VERY good also. Everything about this phone is AMAZING. Only let down is the sound quality isn't the best, but it's still decent, it's a small sacrifice well worth making to own this phone.Convenience key on the side for is SOOO good, I use it for spotify, as are the keyboard shortcuts for launching apps on the homescreen. Cuts down on homescreen clutter and makes things so much easier.Get yourself a protective case for the outside if you care about keeing it in good condition, the metal body can dent easily.Honestly every time I use this phone it's an absolute joy and makes me smile. I've had lots of lastest smartphones, my last was an S8 and also tried the Xperia X series. I used to love physical keyboards back in the day (google G1, moterola milestone etc) I wish I had got the blackberry key series MUCH sooner. Having a physical keyboard is such an absolute joy, I have no idea how anyone can actually enjoy using a screen keyboard... I can only presume its because most people just buy what everyone else does and aren't willing to try something new. Also most people are incomprehensiblely IT illiterate and probably wouldn't be able to make use of all these phones amazing functions either.TLDR; amazing phone, I was skeptical at first, but if you take the time to set it up correctly and use the greenify app it is an AMAZING PHONE. Can't recommend it enough. Looking forward to trying the next gen key series when the prices come down. If you're interested, just buy it, you wont regret it as long as you follow the update installation instructions above.

Wow... I've been an iPhone devotee for years. I had a BB Curve many years back, and a classic also a few years back too, but always stuck to iPhones!. After seeing the Keyone when it was initially released, I instantly knew I wanted it from its bold looks and the main fact that is was really the only phone with a physical keyboard, which I missed using, but never quite made the leap until now... so glad I did...! The Keyone is just fantastic... especially battery life. Build quality is also fantastic, feels quite weighty in the hand, but not in a negative way, as it has a genuine quality feel to it. Phone seems very responsive and I like the android system even after coming straight from Apple iOS.I was hesitant buying the Keyone from the apparent screen issues (some people reported screens had fallen out due to lack of glue), but after much research, found that apparently that's been fixed in any recently build phones. No screen issues on my device so far, as all seems firmly in place. What sells the Keyone for me though is the physical keyboard. A lot of folks report being slower at typing after years of using virtual keyboards, but I have to say, I am the complete, opposite, as there's no more hitting the wrong keys for me on the virtual keyboard, which saves time correcting typos! Yes the Key2 is available for some time now, and now the Key2 LE, but as an intro to the new Blackberry's I would highly recommend giving this stunning phone a chance over all the other phones on the market, as it is so different to all the other touchscreen devices and has a unique look and quality about it, not to forget it rocking the fantastic physical keyboard! At this reduced cost too, it's more than a bargain! Phone is unlocked and works on any network with micro sim.

Unlike all the samey modern smartphones that have become more or less idiot-proof, the Blackberry KeyOne comes with a learning curve. But giving it some time is well worth it! Dozens and dozens of convenient hardware shortcuts that noother brand offers!? Excellent! The Hub!? Excellent. Even Blackberry's launcher is deceptively 'simple', but it has some neat tricks up its sleaves. The physical keyboard in combination with the onscreen extras is just brilliant. Built quality is fantastic, and in real life the device looks much more sleek and, well, gorgeous than in photos. Battery life is fantastic, also! With very heavy use I get through a day and a half without any problems. The camera, obviously, can't keep up with current flagships, but I didn't expect much. It's a Blackberry... And I'm actually positively surprised. It's more than enough for uploads to sites like Twitter and Instagram. Speaker is loud enough although the quality is not exactly excellent. BUT: connect some decent earphones, and the Keyone is actually a capablemusic player - other phones may offer better quality, but I like the wroooom it delivers. It's a good bit louder than what current iPhones and Huawei devices offer. Oh, and although it probably won't get Android 9 (Pie), it does get Google's latest security patches! So, this 2 year old discount Blackberry has Android 8.1. and Dec 2018 security updates while my 800 Euro Mate 10 Pro is stuck on September 2018. Go figure. For 200.00 this is an excellent purchase!!!

Firstly, the supplier came up trumps and delivered what appeared to be an almost new phone, without the box of bits, but did include a generic charger and USB charging cable. This phone is due to replace my BlackBerry Passport and still retains much of what made BlackBerry such a robust manufacturer of business phones..a physical keyboard which is streets ahead of gadget smartphones when it comes to working on documents, spreadsheets and such like.Pro's: BlackBerry software although now Chinese owned hardware. Physical keyboard is much faster than on display virtual keyboards which also lose screen real estate. BlackBerry Hub+ is a great all in one hub for your usual communication needs plus some Android.Android massively extends the Apps platform and the phone is future proofed. Capacitance keyboard and short cuts keeps the screen clean of finger obstruction.Cons: loses email history on transfer, although most everything else works. It's not quite a BlackBerry, but makes a good job of emulating it. The processor is a bit average although appears to handle multiple applications well.Overall it is a good phone, but I would have preferred a revised version of the Passport to run BlackBerry and Android. Would I recommend it? Yes at the price I paid, which is more or less half price, and there is very little else on the market with a physical keyboard.

I've tried many Android phones, including OnePlus 3 or Nokia 6, but regardless of the phone i never could accept lack of physical keyboard in a phone. Im used to have Blackberry Passport in the past, but oryginal BlackberryOS basically died, also phone was a bit too wide and rather poorly made with cheap plastic. I've suffered with ordinary touch screen phones, but few days ago i decided to get this beauty. Oh man, best decision in long time! Blackberry did amazing job with this model. Its really well made, frame being aluminium and back is made from really nice rubber. Phone feels like a truly premium product and is awesome to touch. Looks very proffesional. Phone is very responsive and fast, probably a bit slower compared to current flagships but still very fast. So far i've not experienced any lags or freezes. Im rather basic user and for my need its probably faster than i need. Can even play games like Lineage: Revolution with acceptable frames, and less demanding plays very well. Screen is very good, clear IPS panel, sound is clear, battery seems to be unkillable (Again, im very basic user so Your experience may differ) I haven't tested camera yet. If You are looking for something with oryginal design and texting a lot, You CANNOT go wrong with it!

Pros:- superb QWERTY keyboard with shortcuts and swiping- good battery life- good build quality- convenience button can be customizedCons:- somewhat average camera- bad image stabilization in videos- somewhat heavy (though personally I love the weight of it)A truly unique device that I will use as my primary phone. I am fond of the keyboard! You can assign shortcuts to the keys, different actions for short press and long press, which makes it very versatile.I set Y for YouTube, G for Google, N for creating a new note, etc.I assigned long presses to speed dials (long press M for Mom, etc). The keyboard supports swipe typing as well, really cool stuff. By swiping your fingers on the keys, you can also scroll in apps and in the browser. The spacebar is the touch ID at the same time.Battery life is above average in my experience, lasts for 2 days with medium usage easily (though I find that it runs out even if I don't really use it - somehow background processes tend to use the battery. Something to adjust, I assume).Something to note: the quality of the camera is behind it's competitors. For instance, an iPhone 6 has much better camera and image stabilization in videos, I find. The build quality is great, feel good in my hand.

I bought this to replace a Q10 which I really liked and I was a little unsure because it's Android and not BB OS. Well, lovely sized screen and that Keyboard, I just love the Keyboard, I also hate touchscreens. I'm getting use to the Android system but well and truly pee'd off with just how much Google stuff is on there. I buy a BB because of its security, Google is the opposite, they will take just about everything they can. The phone is easy to use, and the Battery life is unbelievable, I think I've gone something like 5 days between charging. The phone is not as intuitive as as say a Nokia used to be to use and the menus are not hard to learn. You do need to get on line and learn how to use it to get the best out of it.I bought one that was produced late 2017/ early 2018 so I believe by then the issues of the screens falling out had been resolved - they're built in China by TLC I believe. Price I don't think is excessive when you compare what it has to an Apple, the size of memory and RAM. It looks a strong quality phone as well. I am happy with it but there again I'm biased towards BB anyway.

My BB Curve was my favourite phone of all time back when apps were still well supported. I've struggled along with various Android phones throughout the years but the onscreen keyboards have been a source of great annoyance, and the battery life pretty short. The Keyone is... it's like coming home, honestly. The keyboard is the best BB keyboard I've had the pleasure of using so far, and while some integration details are lacking, overall the phone is a great performer - and I can type without having to stare at the keyboard, and with zero typos! It's a joy to type rather than an annoyance. The extra BB security features and the robustness they have incorporated into Android are welcome too,and the battery life is great - I can often charge my phone every other night rather than every night. Love this and recommend it to anyone who enjoys physical keyboards, good, reliable hardware, decent security features, and being able to rely on your phone.Read full review...

If you want a phone where the battery will consistently last for a minimum of 2 days (3 with light usage) then this is definetely the phone for you. When it warns me that there's only 5% battery left, i'm not frantically running around to find the charger, I have at least another couple of hours left. The main feature of this phone though is the physical keyboard which just makes so much sense. Typing is a breeze and to get to 52 of your most common apps is only at most 2 clicks away. The copy and past features are super useful to.Unfortunately this is my third phone because my 3-year-old son likes to wash my phone, so if you need a water proof phone then this is not for you.But I've not had any issues with the screen falling off like some of the other reviews. I think this issue only relates to the 32GB version. This 64GB version is just a great phone and for £253 is a steal. Just do it, buy one :)

Been loyal to Blackberry for years now ages and this is the best yet. I had a PRIV for the keyboard yet strangely found the on screen one easier but I really like the physical keyboard on the KeyOne. Now I've got into the whole BB/Android experience I really like it - blending the best of BlackBerry stuff like the Hub with all the Android apps is terrific. By far the best feature is the battery life. At first I thought it wasn't that good but realised I had the display up full, I turned the display down a bit and the battery life leapt up - am now getting from 100% at 7am and still on 65% at 10pm. Compared to the PRIV that is incredible. Has a better charging socket (USB C)though sadly no wireless charge option which is a bit of an omission. I used to like the size of the Classic etc and inevitably this is a bigger machine but well balanced. Fingerprint scanner built in is brilliant. I am truly hooked!

I am very grateful for the super fast delivery: two business days from UK to Bulgaria. The phone is strange, to say the least. It runs on Android, which allows for many apps that would not otherwise run on BB 10 to run on a BlackBerry. The phone also has BB functions though, which in combination with the Android, make it odd to use: it looks neither as an Android, nor as a BB. The materials are inferior to original BB ones, and the phone is slippery.Still, the battery is the best I have ever had (I have a BB Passport SE and an iPhone 7s), the camera is fantastic and the Hub is excellent. Mails are reveived at an accelerated rate compared to BB10, which really matters to me. All in all,it is a very good work phine, only not when at full price.

Fantastic phone. I have upgraded from a Blackberry Priv to this and much prefer it. The size of the phone is much better as more compact, the key pad is much easier to use and I prefer having it to hand all the time rather than having to slide it out as I did with the Priv. Camera is very clear and much better than on the Priv. This is a great phone. Found it very easy to set up and transfer everything over, it goes through it all with you step by step when you first turn the phone on. Very happy with my purchase. I use this phone for work and social use, it is fantastic for emails as the key pad makes it super quick to reply back, the key pad is heaps easier and quicker to use than my Priv.

I've been using the keyone for two months now.Great battery: I could recently test the battery during a weekend in London where I had to use the GPS and camera all day long. The phone won't let you down, at the end of the day you still have plenty of battery. In a less intensive use, it can even last two days. The camera does take very good pictures.FaceID and TouchID work wellWhat I really like is the keyboard, the shortcuts are very useful and easy to set up, same if like me you need to write in different languages, the swap is very quick. The plus is that you can use the physical keyboard as a tactile one.I was an iPhone user and don't regret my choice.Great BlackBerry

If you go for BB because of OS then do not buy this one. Phone itself is ok. Nice camera(small problems with AF when you take a pic from a few cm distance), nice speakers, great design, top quality materials and physical keyboard(love it). Sounds good? Yes, but...there is Android. In my opinion Android is the worst mobile OS. I just hate it! I'd pay twice as much for this phone if there was BB OS. If you like Android go for KeyONE, if you looking for something different buy...I don't know...Passport maybe? But the problem is that the BB OS is supported until the end of this year only and you have some problems with applications already.
