This is my favorite Barbie body ever, almost action figure quality in terms of range of motion. I don't like non-posable dolls, so the first thing I do with a static Barbie is put her head on a body that will pose decently, and Barbie bodies that meet that need are few and far between. This is the best of the articulated Barbie bodies on the market, and at a more budget-friendly price than an action figure body. Because of the way this doll is jointed, her hips are just a smidge wider than the other modern Barbies (not counting the newer versions with the different body shapes), so trousers or pencil skirts meant to fit the Belly Button Barbie shape might be a tad too small for the Made to Move body unless they're made of stretchy fabric. But aside from that, she can wear most Barbie fashions (and to be honest, I tend to make my own clothing anyway because I can't stand Mattel's current tendency to make most of Barbie's clothes pink, purple, metallic silver, and/or plastic looking!) The one major drawback to this doll is that most of them seem to have the glue inside their head that Mattel has been filling a lot of their doll heads with lately. Not only is this glue unnecessary to keeping the hair rooted in securely, it ends up leaching into the hair when it gets too hot and creating a greasy mess that eventually makes the hair next to unsalvageable. (If you can catch this leak early, a dry shampoo with cornstarch left in overnight then vigorously brushed out might help the problem, but it might not. Mattel, what were you thinking?!) This is not a problem for me since I normally buy this doll for her body and use a different Barbie head on it, but for someone else buying it because they want the whole doll, it can be heartbreaking. I am told the brown haired version of this doll (Bambi?) is less likely to have glue inside her head than the others, but mine certainly did. As for this Asian version, her original head was so packed with the oily glue that her hair ended up being unsaveable. I've removed all of her original hair and washed out her head to do a complete reroot on it. Most buyers who aren't into doll customization are not going to want to go through all that bother, so parents who are just looking for a toy for your child, be forewarned. (That said, there are all sorts of tutorials online for safely removing a Barbie head and putting it on a better Barbie body, and this is an exceptionally good body, so I highly recommend buying it anyway if you're up to 3 to 5 minutes of minor doll surgery. Trust me, when your child sees the cool moves this body can do, she or he will thank you!) I want so much to give this doll five or more stars, but that glue-head problem would be a deal breaker for me in any other doll, so I have to give the Made to Move a star off for that. Mattel, could you PLEASE stop using the greasy head glue, or at least switch to another type that won't ruin a doll's hair?! I live in the Deep South; the only way to keep dolls here cool enough year 'round to prevent your glue from leaking is to store them in the fridge, and that's just ridiculous!I am very much hoping that Mattel will produce their diverse new Barbie body styles with this sort of body soon, as well as a Made to Move Ken. Whether simply posing them for play or to use in dioramas, 1:6 scale room boxes or doll houses, or for display in action poses, the articulated bodies are SO much more fun than the static ones (which might explain part of the popularity that the Monster High dolls are enjoying and the slump in Barbie sales in recent years), and it utterly baffles me that Mattel hasn't moved in this direction much sooner.

This is my first Made To Move Barbie and my first MTM curvy Barbie. First thing to say about her is, she is absolutely beautiful, her hair is thick, shiny light auburn, think dark strawberry blonde, it’s waist length and curls at the ends, so pretty. Her scalp has been sensibly painted to match her hair colour. Her face is just so pretty, big eyes, light brown I think. Beautiful smile and very pale skin for a Barbie, so if you are thinking of using her as a curvy MTM body donor bear in mind she is very light skinned, which makes sense, as natural redheads do tend to be paler skinned, though she has no freckles, which is a shame. Check out Pinterest for skin tone charts for MTMs for matches.I love her yoga top and floral three-quarter length leggings. The detail of the bow on the grey top is a stylish touch. The top is a neat back Velcro fastening the leggings are stretchy and pull on. As a yoga doll she has no shoes and feet look fairly flat and bigger than her slimmer Barbie sisters who are MTMs.Now being a Made To Move doll, gives her double joints in her elbows and knees. Meaning the knee and elbow joint can bend in two places, giving her extra flexibility, this also makes her knees and elbows big, but a small price to pay for such fantastic movement. Her legs and arms at the top, also twist giving extra movement, her waist doesn’t move but her chest moves side to side and up and down, a much better design aesthetically, particularly if Barbie’s midriff is on show in a crop top, her head twists 360 degrees. Her hands and feet also twist, though her feet feel a little stiffer. She feels bigger, heavier and all together more solid than her slimmer Barbie sisters, she’s wide hipped and wider legged but not ‘fat’ I really like this curvy shape and I hope Mattel make more MTM ones in more skin tones and hair colours. Now my negative points, the finish of her arms and legs are poor. The arms above and below the inner elbow have sharp marks on where the plastic mould was, even the joints have sharp unfinished lumps of plastic on, her legs have sharp patches behind her upper legs too, not a good quality finish Mattel for the price. (Please see my photos the light was odd she is all one shade.) Her left leg has two areas of white patches on the skin by the knee and ankle, so poor quality control. My other gripe is her left arm doesn’t come down to her body nicely like her right one does, I think it’s how it’s been set into the shoulder, not quite far enough, it’s a shame as it limits her flexibility, which is the idea of this design doll.I am overall very happy I purchased her though from Amazon, she is lovely to look at and her flexible body is fantastic, especially as I’ve recently owned three Fashionistas Barbies who are gorgeous but can’t bend their limbs. I’ve just (naughtily) bought another MTM the original pink top (straight blonde hair) yoga Barbie, she looks much more tanned than this one and all round thinner, I’m planning on using that one as a body donor for the platinum hair curvy #63 Barbie ‘Just Sayin’ though I wanted to this one but she’s much too pale to match, more MTM curvy Barbies please Mattel and MTM Ken’s too please.

This Barbie is amazing, and she truly has some incredible flexibility. The thing I was most surprised by was that her hands are also flexible. Usually, Barbies have harder plastic hands, which is what I expected, however, this doll has hands that are soft vinyl, making them very soft and flexible as well. Honestly, I could see this doll being used as a toy, for customization and for artists as a reference rather than the usual wooden models. The joints are stiff, which is nice, because it allows her to stay in a pose rather than loose, and the plastic has a lovely texture to it. I bought this doll to paint and customize, and while I need to make new plans for her hands, her skin is matte (as opposed to the regular slight shine of a Fashionista doll) and her sculpt is nice and very unique. There are a few rougher areas where it looks like mold supports were removed that may need to be hit with a nail buffer or some sandpaper, and could be sharp for little fingers, so if you are buying this for a child, it is something to be aware of.Be aware that her legs have almost a "shorts" line below the hip joint. This allows her thighs to be rotated for even more dynamic poses. The same is true for her arms, allowing you to rotate the direction in a way that is natural and makes sense for a human body. The joints seem to follow human anatomy (ie, the elbows only bend in one direction) but can bend fully in said direction. Her feet are flat, but bend at the ankle to accommodate both flat styles of barbie shoes and her characteristic heels. The top and yoga pants are nice and stretchy, though I wouldn't say the fabric is particularly soft. They are nice in that they have enough give, and the doll has enough flexibility, that no velcro or snap closures are needed.Overall, I am very happy with this doll and am looking forward to customizing her! As a child who loved Barbies, I would also highly recommend this doll as a toy or a gift for a little girl (or boy!) as the flexibility really brings this doll to life and would have delighted me as a kid.

This is such a beautiful Barbie doll! I've always loved Barbies ever since I was a kid, and for an older Barbie collector, she is just right! True, she does not stand up which is a shame because that would make her even more complete, however, she is still very easily poseable in plenty of other ways, which makes her the perfect model for an artist as well as a toy, so this makes for a lot of fun quality time making pictures of her. You can make her fold her arms, sit with her legs crossed (or with one leg hanging over the other), bend her back, head and legs back, cross her arms behind her head and even put her in some other humane poses that you can't do with any other Barbie; I won't say what they are but they come pretty naturally! She's got lovely dark brown hair, a nicely tanned complexion and grey/brown eyes and a very smiley mouth too, which is well nice! You can slip the blue/green tunic off quite easily since the material's quite stretchy, as are the black leggings and other Barbie clothes fit her very easily. Her feet will also fit into some Barbie footwear as well, and not just high heels; me, I've fitted her feet in a pair of ice skates! She's certainly poseable enough to imagine her as an ice skater or a ballerina or a yoga teacher or fitness instructor; this doll is well worth it for even more pretend play than usual! Maybe not a totally Endless Moves Barbie but, on the whole, she's still a worthy purchase and one of the few that is actually pretty impressive for both adults and children; I'm an adult and could not stop playing with her when I bought her and I think she is just marvelous! So aside from her inability to stand upright, she is a must have for any budding Barbie collectors.

When you get a working one, these are fab. I have bought 3 of these in the various hairstyles. The articulation is great for this kind of doll however... I had to return two as they had faults. First one had two left feet, litterally, which amazon replaced. The second one that was faulty had an issue on one of the joints and couldn't bend her arm at the elbow at that point I gave up on getting more and they refunded me. Not Amazon's fault, they wouldn't know and its only when u got the doll out of the packaging it became obvious.Just check ur doll carefully before opening the packaging and then check its all working before you hand it to a child. As I say its a quality control at the factory end,not Amazon's fault, Amazon have been great with sorting out the problem, I just got fedup with faulty ones. I would be cautious about gifting this to a youngster, as ending up with a faulty one that had to go back could be upsetting for them, had it been a special birthday gift. Sadly its the kind of packaging that you have to destroy to check it, so there wouldn't be a way for someone to check without it being obvious it had been opened.I think if you had a younger child who was 'heavy' on toys ie great at breaking stuff, go for other barbies with less joints, the ankles are skinny so if they were 'walking the doll along' ie stabbing it into the ground , as kids do for doll walking then the ankles prob wouldn't take too much of that. Neither would the wrist and elbow joints take well to being being held by just one hand. so this is one I'd give to an older child who could understand the limitations of such things.

This is my first Made to Move Barbie and Curvy shape doll. She has a very pretty face with grey(?) eyes. Her hair isn't what I would call auburn, but more of a strawberry blonde. My doll has the same plastic 'bumps' that others have described but I'm not too bothered about that as they'll mostly be covered. Yes, her elbow and knee joints aren't particularly attractive and probably more associated with action figures. However, the fact that she's so posable makes her much more fun!My doll also had one of the elbow joints stubbornly fail to move on both arms. After searching online, my solutions were (1) to use some kitchen paper over her elbow joint and grip it with some needle nose pliers and then bend the arm and (2)place the elbow joint over the edge of a table, and then use my own body weight to bend the arm joint! All the joints are now moving as they should. It wasn't easy though (I've made some scratches and marks) and for that reason I've knocked one star off, as we shouldn't have to do this! She comes barefoot but happily can wear most of the shoes in the "Barbie FCR93 Mattel Accessories Curvy & Tall Doll Shoe Pack", although I do find that I have to be careful with those delicate ankle joints when fitting and removing shoes. I have made her a dress from a vintage Tammy doll pattern and she can also fit clothes from the "Sewing Clothes for Barbie" book by Annabel Benilan.A beautiful doll that I'm really pleased with. It would be nice to see some more MTM Curvy dolls in different skin tones! ;)

This is a unique, exotically pretty doll, although she is not quite what I was expecting after seeing her promotional pics on Amazon. For one, her hair is less platinum than it appeared, and secondly, her skin tone is a touch darker than I assumed it would be. Either way, it's clear Mattel paid particular attention to the subtle nuances of her face, so that she has a slightly angular head sculpt, light champagne colored eyes, and a soft, pleasant expression. The combination does make for a striking contrast, and that is the main reason I find her so appealing. She is a very out of the ordinary doll. The standard Made To Move pros & cons apply here, with the exception that her hair seems of better quality than most of the others. Her curls are held together with product (not glue!) and the joints, especially on her skin tone, can be conspicuous. She is naturally charming - no heavy makeup need apply - and the body shape is athletically toned but shapely. She is a well put together, high quality, articulated doll.I am delighted to see the direction in which Mattel is taking this line, and sincerely hope we see more Barbies conforming to these standards, not to mention how disappointed I'd be if this is the last we see of the Made To Moves. She is quickly growing on me, and with the right outfit, I think she has a great deal of potential as a displayable doll. If you are collecting this line, don't pass her by!

If you’re looking for a fully flexible dolly friend to emulate or plan Instagram yoga pose shots this will disappoint you. If you are a child or a doll fan who wants their toy to be able to fully interact with the world around them or sit on a chair without looking like they’re being tortured or give another dolly a proper hug instead of a weird zombie walk at each other then this is pretty cool.Previously Barbie has been languishing in the dust of rival brands who make highly articulated dollies for the sake of not cheaper as a bog standard 5 points of articulation one bent one straight armed Barbie. Something had to give and Mattel responded with the Made to move range which are so much fun.To also incorporate the Curvy doll (sold separately and is gorgeous)is a great move- I would happily buy other dolls in this range or this level of articulation. She is an excellent quality doll, no cheap oily feeling hair and the joints are double in places for better range of movement compared to rivals. However the splits may disappoint and so may some leg rotation movements in particular. However she is a fab doll to add to any collection and those that say she is not worth the money may be unfamiliar with popular fashion dolls and trends- this is good money for a highly articulated high quality clothing doll with densely rooted good hair.

both arms bent or legs with knees bent to varying degrees. This makes the removing and replacing of clothes quite difficult especially for young children (which is the target market). Our granddaughter who is nearly four years of age, loves her Barbie dolls and is constantly changing their clothes which means that either my daughter-in-law or myself is forever being called upon to assist. This latest Barbie Doll solves that problem brilliantly. The Barbie Made to Move Doll is a full size Barbie doll with luxurious and long blonde hair and an amazing number of moveable 'joints' ... a total of TWENTY TWO in all. Almost every part of the doll is moveable and poseable ... the neck, upper arms, elbows, wrists, torso, hips, upper legs, knees and ankles. This Barbie Doll looks to be well made and the joints are easy for a child to move and position. She comes with an attractive two piece outfit ... floral leggings and a grey/pink top. Her hair is thick and long and in a side parting, just right for brushing and styling. My granddaughter adores this particular Barbie Doll, sadly to the detriment (at the moment) of her other Barbie Dolls. This doll can wear clothes from the Barbie range and best of all ... my granddaughter can undress and dress this Barbie Doll all by herself. Brilliant.Well recommended.

I didn't really like the idea of getting a Barbie doll for my daughter. I think I have distorted memories of Barbies from my own childhood (very skinny with enormously improbable assets). But on opening this doll, I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked it. She looks like a reasonably normal person - she isn't stick thin, she's got a bit of a bottom. I love her long auburn hair and yoga outfit. Granted, the moveable joints give her a slightly unusual appearance, but I think the added flexibility they give the doll is a real bonus. She's not just sitting there stuck with just a few poses, she can move in a more realistic way which is something that's very important to my daughter. Now,has this Barbie been taken to yoga class...no...Barbie is off fighting dragons and dinosaurs with the rest of the dolls. She can't stand unaided but to be honest, there's not a lot of standing still in dragon and dinosaur fighting.Overall - I think this doll is a great addition to the Barbie range (nice to see this curvy option) but it is slightly on the expensive side.

I wanted another ‘made to move’ Barbie originally to head swap with, but when I got this one she has such a lovely face I decided to keep her as she is. Her football kit is great, well made with long socks and shin guards and football boots. She’s in a black and pink kit with ‘59’ on her top to represent celebrating Barbie since 1959 (60 years!). Her joints allow her to be positioned in many ways to add maximum play value to any child’s imagination. Women’s football is more popular than ever, so it’s great to see Barbie in this role too. I decided to give this football player a day off and so she’s wearing her hair down with a party dress on and heels.I’m not giving this one 5 stars though as her upper right arm is damaged from manufacture (please see my photo)and is also poorly finished on one ankle leaving a sharp piece of plastic where her foot joins. I really hope Mattel read these reviews as quality control is definitely hit and miss currently. I hope this improves.

Barbie has articulated wrists, knees, hip, shoulders and ankles. Her head can turn from side to side and up and down too.She is wearing a funky yoga kit of flowered leggings and a side tie top which is Velcro down the back to allow little hands to change her clothing. She does not have any shoes on.For play value she is pretty good, she doesnt stand unaided ( her tiny feet are to blame!) but she can sit and kneel if invited to a tea party. He hair is long and blonde, budding hair stylists can add their own accessories and tie it up etc, but no hair accessories are included.Little one has been happily playing with her since she arrived, we have seen all the usual Barbie play, the swapping of clothes, the brushing of the hair and the usual imaginative chats.I can safely say that Barbie is a hit, the ability to move more than regular Barbie is good as she has been in several scenarios that she needed to sit and bend and moving more like a person is a bonus.

I have been very happy with the articulation of the jointed Fashionista dolls in recent years and didn't think this new Made to Move line would improve so much I would need to start a whole new collection, but wow - These are awesome! Just the few extra mobility points makes a huge, huge difference. Please, please, please continue this line and give us more variety! In addition to amazing pose-ability, these seem to be made from a heavier, more quality type of plastic which I love the feel of. It's possible that this may only be the Asian doll (the one I purchased) and the other skin tones might have a different plastic composition, I can't say yet. My perspective is that of an adult who likes to pose the dolls in dioramas. If you are purchasing these for a young child and are unfamiliar with the articulated bodies, I would mention that the joints at the wrists, ankles, and elbows are a little delicate and rough play could break them.

This is so beautiful, brilliant doll, like the other made to move Barbies but chubbier. I absolutely love her but compared to first MTM dolls she has few drawbacks (as does almost every new MTM doll). Biggest drawback is knee and elbow joints. They move like they should, are double jointed but the middle piece is a lot bigger and wider than in the first dolls. It's cosmetic issue but I liked the more realistic joints the older dolls had. There was no gaps. The other issue is her foot side. It is just a bit bigger than normal Barbies. It does make her look bit more portioned as Barbie's feet are quite small already but the high heels from older Barbies doesn't sit well for her. Shibajuku girls shoes fit well, though, and her shoes can be used with older Barbies.I love her style, the stereo that comes with her and that the whte top is a seperate part and she has black tube top under it so you get three piece of clothing and shoes!

Barbie has somewhat of a bad reputation in certain circles as being super skinny and vacuous, but in recent times she has branched out. Not only has she tried many varied careers, but also looks and body shapes. The 'Made to Move' Barbie is a more curvy version. You could say curvy, but most people would think normal looking and still on the healthy to slim side. It is noticeable that she holds a little more weight and it makes the doll more realistic. As well as being a more natural depiction of a women, this is a sports model. The normal Barbies are a little stiff, but this is a yoga Barbie and she can articulate a lot more. There are so many more poses that this particular Barbie can strike and you can move her to stay up on her own a lot easier. The pack comes with Barbies sweets on so this is not the most glamorous in the range, but the natural look and mobility means that this is certainly one of the best.
