I am not sure what I was expecting when this arrived.Definitely something that looks more ambulance like opposed to ice-cream van but that it obviously just me, because my daughter knew exactly what it was supposed to be.One of my bug bears with these toys is not the assembly (there wasn’t any with this) it's stickers! It seriously took me forever, making sure they were applied perfect, no creases etc. There are also a ton of accessories that come with this. Although, admittedly for the price I would expect there to be a fair few.The ambulance opens up and there are 3 areas to it, there is a waiting room with a gift shop, the check-in centre, and then the treatment room where Barbie then fixes the patients aliments. Please note that this doesn’t actually come with a Barbie. Thankfully my daughter is a huge fan and has a few different ones so she set to work, designing some “scrubs” of sorts.A Barbie doll can fit in the drivers’ seat and it is easy enough to get her in and out of the ambulance.I love the fact this encourages imaginative play. For the last couple of months, my daughter has done nothing but “save” a number of different toys as well as mend broken limbs.Hours of fun has been had with her brother.I should mention that there is a siren on this, but it isn’t actually that loud so it isn’t very annoying :-)The price seems expensive when you first think about it but for the money, it is well made, robust, comes with loads of accessories and creates hours of fun imaginative play for young children. My daughter a full fledged Barbie fan thanks to these sets and I can only imagine the amount of money that is going to get spent on this brand in the future.

I wasn’t expecting this to get as much use as it has over the last couple of weeks. There have been a ton of giggles and laughter not to mention the amount of creativity that’s been generated. Apparently Barbie patching up GI Joe’s is all in a day’s work when this thing is around. This is the one thing I really appreciate in a toy, it’s ability to keep kids coming up with new creative ways to enjoy it. It also means that for the money spent it will get a lot of use instead of only occasionally. Too many toys are very limited in what they can do or be used for, not here.As a parent, I like that the overall build quality is good especially since this isn’t a low-end toy. It’s taken a few bumps and even a couple of tumbles down a flight of stairs. Things from the inside ended up flying all over the place but the whole thing remained in one piece. It looks like this will be around for a few years. There was a lot of thought put into this, the little places where pieces can be stored and tucked away along with how so much creativity can be crammed into a relatively small area. The kids also had a lot of fun with just the stickers, finding where each one went and then getting them lined up just right. I can see where younger kids could mess, theres a lot. There are a few internal pieces, enough to allow for some interesting scenarios and while I expect them to eventually get lost the main part, the van, will still be used for new events that kids will dream up long into the future. If there was a doctor’s smock included it would be nice and finish off the whole thing, we don’t have anything for Barbie or Ken that makes them look like doctors or even ambulance drivers.

As a parent I am not a fan of Barbie and the stereotypes she represents. This set is part of the careers range. The first job is to stick the stickers all over the van. This took a while because there are almost 50 to place and it is really a job for an adult. Then, trying not to be too cynical, I passed this onto my seven year old, adopted, daughter who has very traditional views when it comes to toys. She struggles to play creatively, so initially enjoyed wheeling the ambulance around, pressing the siren, but she was disappointed that it didn't come with paramedics or open and shut doors. Once she had recruited some fashion dolls for the job, she was ready to go. The driver's seat slides to accommodate the driver. The set comes with a huge range of accessories which all pack away neatly into the van. The van opens out into a hospital room scene. The stretcher/bed folds up to prop up the patient. There are crutches clipped into the roof area and bandages to treat the patient. There is a medical bag, thermometer, sink, soap bottles, operation lamp, stethoscope and clip board for the medic. Visitors can bring flowers, balloons and teddies, then read a copy of Barbie magazine while they wait. The X-ray machine adapts into an eye test chart. For my daughter, this toy didn't have the longevity of the Barbie kitchen set (that she loves!). I would recommend this for children (it is so vividly gendered) aged 4 to 7 who enjoy role playing nursing games.

I think the fact that Barbie is trying to create career based toys is a very positive thing. In the past Barbie was very much seen as a slightly negative role model as it just gave the impression that girls are air heads and only interested in fashion and lying around looking pretty. Not that there's anything wrong with those two things but it doesn't exactly help to encourage girls to look towards a career when they're old enough. The ambulance comes with a number of accessories and you’ll have to apply all the stickers yourself but I think that’spart of the fun. I think it’s a bit fiddly for young children to apply the stickers and I also think they’d get bored as there are so many of them. The Barbie dolls fit in nicely and clearly this will offer a lot of play potential. You don’t get any dolls or doll clothing so these will need to be purchased separately. I don't see this as a negative thing as I already think the toy offers great value for money.I know you can’t judge toys by how big they are but it seems a lot for the money. It also seems quite robust which is always a good thing with toys. The inside of the ambulance also has a vast array of items to enhance play potential. The fact that it opens up so that everything can be fully played with is excellent. The fact that you get lights and sound too just add to the fun.Overall a great toy for the money. I’m genuinely impressed.

First things first, this is big and makes for a substantial toy. There is minimal assembly required and all parts have neat storage solutions within the van. The rear of the van splits open to allow easy access to the gurney/trolley for the patient and there is even a small sofa that folds for Dr Barbie to sit on whilst assisting the patient (my daughter used Princess Anna from Disney's Frozen for the patient). There are numerous clever folding and sliding features such as the roofline drawers for crutches and my personal favourite the eye-chart which disappears to reveal an x-ray film.A Major drawback for Barbie’s ambulance is the fact that although there is no assembly required, there are around 40 self-adhesive stickers that you need to place upon the various internal and external panels - some of which are very large and with the high-tack adhesive used they are impossible to reposition without tearing. As a result it will take around 30 minutes to install all of the stickers and you will have to live with a lot of bubbles, wrinkles and folds for the large panel decals. And of course this is going to be either the job of the kid to mess up and whine about, or the adult to spend ages doing, and probably still mess up, and whine about.Overall a great toy for the barbie fan in your life but assistance will be required for adding the finishing touches that they don't do in the factory.

This is a fabulous toy, designed for the Barbie careers doll. There is no doll included, which is unfortunate, as this would have made what is a great toy, an awesome toy. This ambulance toy acts as both an emergency response vehicle, as well as it opening out into a care clinic, with loads of accessories included, for a child to fully immerse themselves in role play with their dolls. The ambulance has siren sounds and lights, which turn on with the push of a button, then simply lift the lever at the back of the ambulance, to transform it into a care clinic which extends to over 2 feet wide! Inside are three distinct play areas, including a reception desk and swivel chair, a waiting room and a gift shop, hidden behind the television. There is an examination room with an x-ray machine that also doubles as a vision chart, as well as a rolling examination bed that is adjustable from a flat bed, to a seated bed. There are loads of extra accessory pieces, including a blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, casts, crutches, medical bag, fish tank, couch and magazines for the waiting room and gift shop items including a teddy bear or balloon. The ambulance take 3 AA batteries and will fit a standard size Barbie doll (available separately).

This is a large, Barbie ambulance, which opens up to become a treatment centre. The set has lots of accessories, and lots – and lots – of stickers. Still, once set up, it really is simple to open up and to close again, meaning that children can do this unaided.Closed, you can put a Barbie doctor (this doll doesn’t come with the ambulance) into the driving seat, which has a siren (not too loud) as she drives to see her patients. Once opened up, the ambulance has three different areas. There is a waiting area, with gift shop, a check in centre and, finally, the treatment room. This has an examination table, with an x-ray machine and there are also countless other accessories – from blood pressure monitor,to stethoscopes and crutches. This really does have a lot of scope for imaginative play. It contains a lot of different accessories, it unfolds well and has the room, and scope, to hold a lot of different dolls. Sure to have lots of appeal for children who enjoy role play.

This was a gift for a 4yo who surprisingly hadnt been a barbie fan. I had to buy some actual dolls of course, so that shecould play properly, but if youve already got a Barbie collection this wont be an issue. For some reason most 4yo I know are fascinated by doctors, hospitals, nurses etc, so this play set offers lots of scope for imaginative play. I also like that the Barbie character is doing something other than posing around in different outfits; seems much more desirable role modelling for young kids, especially girls. With the usual reservations about not stepping on it or allowing younger brothers to throw it around, it feels quite sturdy and has lots of extra bits so should give good play value for a long time.I think the value of this type of playset can lie in having lots of different models though so a full range of roles and activities can be explored.

This has been a huge hit in our house - since my granddaughter received it a few weeks ago she has played with it daily. Basically it is a rescue ambulance which converts into a 2ft long mobile hospital ward/clinic with a reception desk, waiting room and examination room. There is also a fair bit of clinical paraphernalia such as stethoscope, sphygmomanometer (BP cuff), examination couch, casts and crutches. The waiting room has magazines and gift shop type items like you would find in real life. Transition from ambulance to clinic is easy for kids and when in ambulance mode the foot long vehicle rolls quite smoothly. Lots of scope for imaginative play.Be warned - at first there is a fair bit of faffing around with stickers which require to be carefully placed to make the toy look right and the process is time consuming. Recommended.

My daughter got this with her Christmas money and honestly, it’s great! She’s five, so at that age where she’s interested in the human body etc. Mattel have managed to fit loads of features into it so there is a waiting room with gift shop, reception station and a medical part with a hospital bed. (it’s not a true reflection of the NHS but ??‍♀️ Everything is happy, pink and about fashion but I’m cynical ?) , Lots of medical equipment (which no doubt will be destined for the hoover at some point!).Basically there is lots of play elements and daughter is over the moon with it. It’s different from the normal beauty salons/pink houses etc that are generally the norm with these dolls.I’m pleased Mattel are pushing the boundaries with Barbie these days. It was all big hair, big dresses when I was a kid in the 80’s!

This is a lovely toy for children who like playing at being nurses or doctors. The ambulance explodes open to form a surgery/hospital room (the product description says three rooms but I think that is the marketing men & women getting carried away). There is a couch (with storage for accessories), a nurse’s/doctor’s station (advertised as a check-in stand but kids’ imagination means it can be used for anything), an eye chart and X-ray display. There are lots of accessories for imaginative play e.g. two crutches, a blood pressure cuff (solid plastic, not inflating), doctor's bag, stethoscope, and gift shop items such as a teddy bear. For added A&E realism, encourage your child to keep the patient waiting in the ambulance for four hours before assessing their injuries, and charge any visitors a parking fee.

It's a pity Barbie dolls are so tall - when you see this ambulance out of the box and ready to play, it looks huge. But then you try to fit a couple of Barbies inside it and you realise that it inexplicably needs to be bigger. The ambulance comes fully kitted out with cupboards, a stretchers, a TV and a bunch of other equipment. It can be opened from the rear, double door style meaning you have full and easy access to the interior and coverting into a pseudo clinic, and everything is designed with colour and style. It has flashing lights, a very loud siren, but doesn't come with a Barbie or pal.The wheels turn easily so it can be pushed around the floor quickly as your kids race to the scene of the latest Barbie/Ken domestic incident.

Bought this for my granddaughter (aged 3) for Christmas, and it was a huge hit, she loves playing doctors with her dolls and this was perfect, comes with great accessories, and the ambulance opens out to be a waiting room and clinic room. Really good sounds on the ambulance too. Everything can store in the ambulance to keep everything together. Was great value for money on Amazon as up to £15 cheaper than most toy stores. A lot bigger than I expected it to be, especially when open. It was hard to get hold of a doctor or nurse barbie to go with it as I think this was a popular toy last Christmas but she used her normal barbie doll and it was fine as the accessories such as stethoscope, etc meant her barbie became a doctor.

My sister is crazy with this toy along with the barbie camping bus thing that costs like 80 pound but this one is also kind of expensive but as you all know we do things to make them happy and she is so thats all that matters. The toy I think does not make that price. It should be cheaper. But again she's playing a lot with it so I take that. She also crasy about these L.O.L toys and they get really pricey but nothing I can do really.Anyway the toy is OK you open it up and you have a full hospital thing going on lol not really more like a waiting room from what I see.Keep in mind this review is late and the pictures do not show the product in it's brand new condition. These pics are after months of playing with it.

Make sure you already have a Barbie as you only get the Ambulance. No Barbie included.Barbie can drive the ambulance to an emergency clearing the way of traffic by turning on her siren (batteries included). The mobile ambulance transforms into a surgery when stationary but opening up the back. The three room hospital setting includes: check-in, waiting room with couch, and an exam room with x-ray machine.Plus you get more than 20 additional accessories include medical equipment (such as adjustable bed, doctor's bag, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, thermometer, two casts and a pair of crotches),waiting room magazines and gift shop items like a teddy bear or balloon.I think this is good value for £38.
