Yay for Barbie! Mattel's first-ever Barbie arrived during my childhood, ushering in a stiff but glamorous view of domestic possibilities. Decades later, she taught my daughter to dream even bigger for both family and any choice of career.  Now, as I use a wheelchair while my broken ankle heals, my young grandchildren are fascinated by aging, physical infirmities, and assistive devices. They want to steer me in my chair, but our narrow hallways aren't crowd friendly. So I've bought us a Made-to-Move flexible Barbie with an awesome, well-made working wheelchair and now they zoom her all around the house without taking paint off the walls. They can even apply the brakes to keep her safe on tabletop adventures.  A personal perk is that Barbie's hair color evokes memories of my youth and her wheelchair color matches mine, so I use her as a mini-me avatar of healing, setting her in various extreme yoga poses to encourage my sense of humor and to visualize a plan for wellness. It's working! I'm not so disappointed about my latest physical setback because I see the future through her and it looks pretty good. Thanks, Mattel, for a long lifetime of inspirational Barbies. You've been there every step of the journey. (Take your time if you're thinking of making the next one with an urn, okay? Not quite ready for that.)

Lovely set. Similarly to the prosthetic leg barbie, we bought this to normalise wheelchairs in our family and daughter's friends prior to sibling's wheelchair arriving.Present very well received, daughter over the moon! The wheelchair has brakes and comes with a pink ramp (useful for wheeling up into campervan). The wheels turn well. There is also a support that Barbie's waist clicks into so that she sits upright in the chair properly and doesnt fall out during play.We love that all the arms and legs joints are fully articulated so that Barbie can stand and walk when she feels able to.I stupidly took the plastic string off her arm that was holding her little yellow watch on.It won't stay on anymore so I might glue it on before it gets lost. Shoes surprisingly havent fallen off once even with their open backs.Barbie has a very trendy outfit and super long hair, apologies it's such a mess in this photo. We love her and are tempted to buy the other wheelchair Barbie set available in this new range. Although they have the exact same outfit and colour wheelchair which is such a shame.

I was surprised at how large the wheels on Barbie’s wheelchair was on first getting it out of the packaging (please see my photo with a standard mug next to Barbie), but was impressed with the detail. Barbie has the same face as the pink top yoga Barbie, though this one has gorgeous very long blonde hair. She is also a MTM doll and dressed in jeans and a cute cold shoulder top with sunglasses, watch and white trainers. She also comes with a pink ramp for extra play value. However, her left arm is really badly finished on the upper arm and below the elbow (please see my photo). These dolls aren’t cheap so am surprised to see this finish (I could see it clearly whilst she was in her packaging.I had the football player Barbie delivered yesterday, she too has poor finish on her upper arms). I hope Mattel reads these reviews on poor quality control. Other than that this Barbie is a great idea to introduce young children to people in wheelchairs in their play along with other Barbies, I hope Mattel introduce a wheelchair Ken too.

This was a much asked for toy. My daughters often watch videos on Youtube featuring Barbies/Elsa and Anna dolls and regularly they involve a visit to the doctor's. My daughters tend to play out these scenarios then. While these are short term injuries for the dolls I think it helps to normalise wheelchair use in both short and long term situations for my daughters. My daughters have the Barbie Care Clinic also, so this wheelchair is used a lot when playing with that. The doll that comes with the wheelchair has joints in her arms, legs, ankles so can sit comfortably in the wheelchair, there is a little holder to go around her waist that she sits into. She is dressed in modern clothes, her top is one of my kids favourite Barbie clothes and she wears jeans and runners. The wheelchair is well made, we have it a good few months now and it hasn't suffered any damage during all the playing.

The fashionista range seems to have some cheaper end dolls that aren't as good quality generally, however this one is pretty decent. The wheelchair is well made and also has a clamp to hold the doll in place. It has real rubber wheels and the seat is textured to have a more realistic appearance. There are no handles for other dolls to push her..so this doll will need to push herself! The ramp is also a great feature for dolls houses. The doll is fully poseable as well. Her feet are a bit too pliable, so she wouldn't be able to balance standing, which I suppose doesn't really matter for this type of design.I wasn't overly impressed with the hairline- seems a bit thin and patchy,so at certain angles you can see right down to the plastic head.Overall a great doll though, & offers a unique accessory for Barbie. She will be a great addition to the collection!

This Barbie was a lovely item to review. It was packaged nicely and easy enough to get out. Scissors were needed to clip the little bit of plastic attaching the doll to the cardboard. Barbie comes attatched to the wheelchair but is easily removed by snipping the elastics. She has sunglasses which stay on her head but not on her face, would stay on though if elastics weren't cut,and a watch on her wrist that also stays in place. Barbies arms feel a bit stiff when you attempt to bend them but they do bend. Hands rotate to hold on to the wheels. The features of the wheelchair are impressive, barbie can be held in place by a plastic clip around her back and removed simply by gently pulling her out,the wheels turn completley and there is a lock on each side to keep it still. It even comes with a ramp which is fab!

I bought the wheelchair Barbie for my granddaughter's 5th birthday. As soon as she had seen it she asked if I could get it for her birthday. The wheelchair is well made with moveable wheels so that it can be pushed along. It has a modern feel with it, light-weight and not bulky. She loved Barbie, she is a huge fan of 'Barbie everything' but what made this one special was the jointed knees, arms and wrists. This allows Barbie to be able to sit in a natural position in the wheelchair and have her hands on the wheels to make it go (With help of course).I really love how the Barbie's have developed and progressed to represent everyone in society. This is a great addition to my granddaughter's Barbie collection.

Had to buy this Barrie in a wheelchair for my nieces. I’m disabled and in a wheelchair and my nieces and nephews are used to wheelchairs and disabilities. But how great is this also for children that don’t have a disabled family member. It’s fantastic for children to learn that some need a wheelchair. And I love the fact it comes with a ramp. Please continue with this range, we need a amputee Barbie, a Blind Barbie etc etc. Let’s change people’s awareness of disabled people, and what better than starting this at a young age. Well done and keep them coming

I bought this product for myself as a wheelchair user. I was very disappointed that the wheelchair came without push handles. In my opinion push handles would’ve added so much play value to this toy. Where is Barbie going to put her handbag?! Also my particular wheelchair has only one wheel that goes round so it doesn’t push very easily. This may be a design fault because I have heard other reviewers mention the same thing. Otherwise it’s a very good approximation of a wheelchair, I like the working brakes. The price was reasonable and it came quickly.

The doll has the same amount, and style of joints the Made to Move Barbies have. However, I found this doll extremely stiff to move, this was due to the amount of flashing I found left in the joints. Once removed, the joints were much smoother in their movement.I love the hairstyle of this doll, and she has a very pleasant face. I was really pleased to see both her eyes matched.A good price, and arrived the day after purchase. Which is good. I would buy again.

We were plagued with skinny big bust blond blue eye Barbie for so long some even went as far as plastic surgery to look like barbie .( gives new meaning to plastic surgery ) Having a neurological disorder which is removing ability to feel my feet I welcome the real Barbie . She is cool has cool wheels and she is "real" .There is also curvy Barbie ( healthy no eating disorder Barbie ! ) The only bad thing I would say is ABOUT TIME . Yes we love her ! xxx

Barbie as always is a firm favourite with children. They are durable, robust and enable hours of imaginative play. This doll was bought as a Christmas present for my granddaughter. I love the diversity of this product. It's great for children to see toys that encompass disabilities and different ethnicities. However my only gripe was that it was more expensive to buy the black doll in the wheelchair compared to the white doll in the wheelchair.

I am very happy with this product. I will start with the diversity and inclusive message this product sends. Normalising disability and breaking down barriers is crucial in supporting progression in the world. The features are lovely and includes a ramp. The wheelchair is sturdy with working breaks on each wheel. Barbie has flexible joints so she can be manipulated to wheel the chair. The casual, yet stylish clothes are a welcomed feature.

This Barbie in her wheelchair was a birthday present for our grand daughter. She loves it, and it has already joined her Barbie collection. She has taken it away into a world of imagination, and is enjoying the playtime. The Barbie is well made and durable. The only problem is that due to the cov19, my local Argos was closed, and there was not one available locally. I therefore had to travel about 20 miles to collect it from another outlet.

Lovely doll. I was really impressed that the wheel chair appears to be to scale. I was expecting something small and flimsy but it’s very sturdy and realistic. Despite other reviews where this has been more expensive when I purchased this was the same price as the blonde version which was good (I don’t see why there should be a difference in price for essentially the same product with different appearances)Good quality.
