I absolutely love this Collector’s Signature Barbie celebrating 60 years of inspiring girls, she is so beautiful. Her diamond inspired dress is a flowing ball gown of white satin, with layers of tulle and silver sparkly satin decorated heavily with silver graduated glitter and gorgeous silver circles flowing down the cascade of tulle netting at the front. She’s wearing a black sash, her neckline is a sheer sleeveless bodice with layers of extravagant silvery satin and lace in front of the simple white satin over her bust. The back of the dress is not Velcro but two small press studs, though the finish isn’t as neat as the one Mattel show here. Her finger and toe nails are painted red, she’s wearing elegant black slip on high heel mule sandals. Her earrings are large chunky silver hoops which completes her elegant attire.Barbie’s hair is platinum blonde (not white) it is tied up in a high ponytail with a twisted bun above, the ends of her long hair are curled and not layered into a choppy cut like so many modern Barbies have. Her face is truly beautiful with a nod to her original 1959 self with cats eye eye liner, red lips and a charming side glance. Her eyes are blue. (The original 1959 Barbie has the same black sandals and painted toe nails and her hair is in a ponytail). Her body isn’t made to move, though she has a bent left leg, a bent right arm and her left hand is bent at the wrist. Her legs and arms move at the hips and shoulders. Her head can move in the same way as all Barbies. She is designed to pose beautifully on her stand that’s included in the box, along with her certificate of authenticity. Her code FXD88 is printed in gold on her bottom. The stand doesn’t come with instructions however, it is placed at the top of Barbies legs, a leg fits either side, a neat way of standing her up without the stand on show, though her dress has been thoughtfully designed with a cutout at the back for a longer waist stand to go through should you prefer that method.I know many collectors keep their Barbies in their boxes and it is fair to say, the box, though large, isn’t overly impressive for a Barbie representing the diamond 60th anniversary of Barbie’s creation, though the first Barbie wore a black and white striped swimsuit and the background inner packaging here does have this black and white chevron stripe design as a nod to the first 1959 Barbie.Barbie’s original creator Ruth Handler believed through a Barbie doll ‘a little girl could be anything she wanted to be’ a wonderful and forward thinking philosophy for 1959 that still holds true today. I recommend this gorgeous Barbie to collectors and older children who like to collect dolls too. Please see my photos, I hope my review has been helpful to you.

It's Millie's 60th birthday - so yes, it's her with her face sculpt, it would really be very strange if this Caucasian version of the 2 anniversary dolls would come with some other face, Mattel had their loyalties sorted out right with this one. This is a very exquisite doll with a lot of allusions, the first we discussed above. The second is the make up and the eyes looking sideways - you have it right, it's the original doll there, the Nostalgic element there that is now only present in Silkstones. And the little slip ons are just like they were (almost) back then, 60 years ago. The black and white is there for the very same reason. And, notice, there are only 2 celebration dolls, black and white, hand in hand, as if Mattel reminds us of their focus on their inclusion as they demonstrated with their first dolls. The pink is there too, after all it is Barbie, and Pink Box/Label is their focus. And although this is a Black Label doll it indeed does not undermine the Pinkishness. The dress seems too stiff (Pink Label worth) but the designs is beautiful and (!) it has snaps (Gold Label aftertaste), though, let's put it right, they are quite visible and it ruins the effect. And these Millies have manicure and pedicure. All in all, if you are into collecting, you need one of the two dolls.UPDATE: now that this girl is out of the box - she is heavy! You can feel a good weight in your hand, so my guess is that materials used to produce this doll were good enough for the occasion.

Wow!Such beauty, style and sophistication. Here Barbie is celebrating 60 years with another stunning collectors edition.Barbie looks beautiful with her cat eye liner and subtle blue shades with a daring red lip which matches her finger and toe nails. Her hair sits in a high sophisticated seamless pony tail. Her hair being the band makes it looks even more appealing. Whilst her silver hoops finish the whole looks gloriously. She sports a white and sparkling silver silk, layered effect dress. At the base of the top is a gorgeous nettled top with hints of silver sparkle. On top of that is an upward ruffled layer of white net. To top it off is the outer layer of the whole dress which is absolutely dazzled is silver sparkle, this also goes in an upward ruffled layer. The mid section of the dress is tied together with a black ribbon belt. The bottom half of the skirt base is a gorgeous silver silk piece. On top of that is a white net. Above that is a layered up through the centre, see through net which has stunning silver circles on that sparkle like crazy. Above this around the centre of the layers is the outer part of the dress. This is wedding white silk which has a cascade of silver sparkles coming downwards. To finish off her look she has coal black, backless stilettos.I would definitely recommend, perfect price for another amazing collectors edition from Barbie!

We are not collectors of Barbie dolls in the way that these are collected! We buy and play with them. Although I have to say that I have been reluctant to give this to my daughter. This is definitely a barbie of a different class. The dress is amazing. The ‘side glance’ is a little different from Barbies we own but I gather that is a throwback to the original ones.My daughter definitely loves this and I have convinced her not to strip her of all her clothes and accessories... for the time being anyway. The quality is great and if you’re collecting it I assume you won’t be ripping off the wrist tag!The box is pretty similar to any box usual barbie’s come in apart from having a sort of art nouveau feel.I can understand that if you’re collecting, you don’t want to open the box and want it to be a special box - maybe something that you could take off the doll but put back together again without damaging it - which is really difficult with this box design.A lot of money for a barbie, but it’s a bit like disney dressed i guess, you get the licensed ones which can bit a bit cheap, the disney stores ones which are good and then the disney special dresses which are three times the prices but are amazing! This is in that category. (I wouldn’t pay this much for one though if I was never going to wear the dress!!)

This Barbie, released to celebrate her 60th anniversary is really very beautiful, even for those who don't love Barbie - she is really stunning. She is wearing a diamond-inspired ball gown which is made from huge amounts of shiny white satin material with sparkly sprays of silver pattern, netting and more - all cinched together at her waist with a black sash. She has little black heels on with her perfectly painted toenails on show and her fingernails have also been painted to match (of course!) and her lips are red to match her nails and she has blue eye shadow, silver hoop earrings and platinum blonde hair, which looks amazing! She has her hair in a high pony with a little topknot on top and she looks elegantly sophisticated and both modern and traditional all at once. She has been made primarily for collectors or for show - rather than being a true doll for play, but that doesn't mean that she can't be or won't be played with, it's just that she isn't as flexible as some Barbies and hasn't been made to move. She comes with a certificate of authentication and this states that she was created by the designers and artists at Mattel. She also has a tag on her wrist stating that she is genuine by Mattel if you weren't already sure.

There are two reasons for wanting to own this rather wonderful Barbie 60th anniversary doll; the first that this is eminently collectable - Barbie has been inspiring girls since 1959 (as it says on the packaging ) around the world. So if you want this as a collectable item you probably bought this for yourself and would not want to take the doll out of the box. A used doll will never fetch the same price as a pristine one still all wrapped up.However on the other hand this is a lovely doll for a youngster to play with. Barbie liooks great in her cascading ball gown and classic pony tail. Who would want to deprive a little girl (or boy ) of that? Open the box and play with Barbie.A world of imagination awaits.Well one thing that might make you think about this is the price. You wouldn't expect to pay over £40 for a standard Barbie doll but as stated this is not that .Sonething to bear in mind before you decide whether to stick or twist.

I have loved Barbie ever since I received my first Barbie when she was introduced to the world. She inspired me as she has so many then and since. So it was a delight to receive this 60th Diamond Anniversary Barbie from the Signature Collection for review. She looks so beautiful - dazzling and sophisticated, dressed in a stunning layered white ball gown sprinkled with a cascade of silver sparkles. Her look references the original 1959 Barbie with a high platinum blond ponytail, red lips and nails, and hooped earrings. I love her cat-like eye makeup and cute side-eye glance. The packaging with a black and silver chevron design is also a tribute to the original Barbie’s iconic black and whiteswimsuit. Its price reflects that this is a collectible rather than a toy and would make a wonderful addition to any Barbie collection. Of course, it could also be a very special gift for a Barbie enthusiast of any age.

2019 marks the 60th anniversary of Barbie and this diamond-inspired collector's edition has been produced in celebration of that fact. The gown is impressive, more so from the all-important front, less so from the back. It is an impressive mixture of net, satin and those sparkly accents that make this a showstopper of an outfit. Barbie herself has her hair in a long, knotted pony tail and is wearing peep-toed, high-heeled sandals under that dress. As a collector’s piece, this is let down by a poorly designed box, which was falling apart on receipt on the version I received. It’s a pity as a collector will want to keep her boxed; it is irrelevant if this is going to be played with.It is a lovely collector’s doll, let down by a poorly constructed box.

Barbie is well packaged, comes with Barbie certificate & stand. I must admit for the 60th anniversary i was kind of expecting something a little bit more from the Barbie collection, Barbies dress is stunning but don’t think black shoes goes well with her outfit as she isn’t wearing anything else black, her long white hair is different from the blonde Barbies but the white hair does set off the earrings, her right hand thumb looks a little larger at the knuckle sections of her hand, (I’ve tried to show this in picture) it is lovely would I buy this? no sorry I wouldn’t, I would recommend this if your happy to let your kids play about with her and they won’t notice anything different about herother than her lovelydress & earrings

Such a beautiful doll. Everything I love about Barbie , her dress is so beautiful, white shimmering with silver, layers of skirt. Barbie and I are the same age , and as a child I never had a Barbie , then when I had children they were boys and they didn't want her . So I have had toward until my older years to have them. I just love to look at the design of their clothes and of course my favourites are the big flashy numbers . My Barbie will stay in her box , so she remains pristine, my granddaughters think I am crazy but I have told them my Barbie does noted up naked in a sink. A gorgeous doll that I am sure will look wonderful in a fair few collections.

I was surprised that some reviewers have commented that their doll arrived in a damaged box. Obviously, someone has learnt a lesson, as I received this, neatly wrapped in tissue paper and in an outer, Mattel cardboard box, and then inside the normal Amazon box. As such, it arrived perfectly and I am thankful, as this is definitely one to keep. This Barbie is obviously to celebrate Barbie’s 60th anniversary. She is in a gorgeous, diamond themed dress. Love the platinum blond hair and hoop earrings. She looks beautiful boxed, but she deserves to be played with and loved and she will be in our house.

This is a great addition to the Barbie range. Celebrating her 60th birthday, she don't half look good for 60! Wearing a beautiful gown and red painted nails with her hair tied up in a creative knot with her golden locks falling down her back, this is a keeper. For me she is a great collectors item and the work done in her is great. For a 60th anniversary more attention to detail could be done on her nails but most will not even notice. The dress is well made and really pretty, even with the naked eye.Highly recommend for a collector or if you want to spoil your children or grandchild.

Barbie is such a versatile doll to collect and has been in the hearts of many for years. This 60th edition doll is no exception and Is s beautiful addition to any collection. There seems to be the same good quality of materials and detail. My only disappointment and i think an important point is that the box was damaged.Considering the box is mentioned in the marketing as ‘special 60th anniversary packaging...’ it would have been nice to have received this pristine. It also devalues the collection item somewhat. As a special edition, the price is fairRecommended

Barbie has featured large in our lives since my daughter was a girl (she is now mum to a little boy so Barbie is less important). We do however have a grand daughter and this will be kept for her. She comes in a lovely box, the dress is stunning and she looks lovely with her accessories. I feel that she will need to be kept under cover as the dress is not a 'playing with' type of thing and will get marked and will be impossible to clean but as a display and collectors edition really really good.

Beautiful elegant doll dressed in a multi layered silver and white gown. She has an impeccably painted face, earrings, and nicely styled hair. Since this doll is obviously aimed at the collector market I thought the packaging was very flimsy and let down the product. It gets scuffed and damaged very easily and will need very careful storage. It comes with a certificate of authenticity fastened to the back of the tray the doll sits in.
