I should declare that I am a Babyliss devotee and currently have 5 Babyliss hairdryers on the go - this one, the new 2400w one, a 10 yr old classic 2000w, the limited edition 50s-style one, and a foldable 1600w travel one. So, how does this one compare? This hairdryer is fantastic - only 1600w, but it dries hair beautifully. An ionic hair-dryer releases conditioning ions which visibly smooth your hair and enhance shine as you dry. I've not used an ionic hairdryer before, but my (long) hair was so exceedingly fuzz-free, straight and shiny after using this hairdryer that not only did it draw compliments from colleagues in the office (never happens!),but it also inspired me to purchase the 2400w hairdryer in the Babyliss range.Box contains:1 x BaByliss Travel Pro Hair Dryer / 1 x Concentrator Nozzle / 1 x Information BookletHairdryer features:• 2 heat / speed settings plus a cold shot button• Heat-balancing ceramic technology• Slim concentrator nozzle• Removable rear filter• 2.5m power cord• 3 year guaranteeLooks-wise, it is simply stunning. The black body and the rose-gold trim are absolutely on-trend, and it looks effortlessly stylish. One might even say luxurious. Even the pattern on the rose-gold end cap is perfectly designed. I don't generally care what my hairdryers look like as long as they do the job, but this one really demands a moments appreciation of its beauty.Size-wise, it is only marginally smaller than a every-day, salon-standard hairdryer. Being such a solid build it is not particularly lightweight, which is an important fact to consider when thinking about luggage allowances on flights. It weighs in at around half a kilo (500g approx, including lead) - which is akin to two pair of shoes, or a pair of trainers. Also, because the handle doesn't fold down (which is standard for a travel hair-dryer) it will not be the easiest of items to pack. Plus there is the attached 2.5m lead and plug to also fit in your case!Dual voltage whether home or abroad - The voltage can be adjusted for use at either 120V or 240V by selecting the required voltage using the screw on the handle. Always ensure the voltage to be used corresponds with the voltage selected i.e. Never use the appliance on 240V if the appliance is set to 120V or vice versa.Personally, I think it has been inappropriately named as a travel hairdryer, and this is why I only gave it four stars rather than five. It would certainly be handy for the gym though.Drying ability: I managed to dry my washed hair to bone dry in about 15 minutes (5 minutes longer than with a 2000w), and whilst it took longer, the results were incredible - I don't think my hair has ever looked so lovely (excluding when the hairdresser does it!).Overall, I recommend this product. It is possibly the best hairdryer I have ever used, and certainly the most stylish. However, NOT for travel. Perfect for a teenager, a guy, or shorter-than-shoulder-length hair.I genuinely wish that Babyliss would produce a 2400w version of this, and I would buy it whatever the price.

I loved this hairdryer. The matt black body and rose gold filter are most attractive. The hairdryer itself is wonderfully compact, thereby making it easy for storage. It is also simple and basic to use. With just two speeds from which to choose, an optional cool air function and one concentrator nozzle plus a lovely long lead (2.5 m cord) which ensures I can plug the appliance into the socket in the hall and still be able to blow dry my hair in the bathroom mirror, this hairdryer is a winner. At £26.99 (Amazon September 2018), this is also very reasonably priced. However, as a travel hairdryer, I am a little less impressed. Whilst it is compact, it is also quite weighty. The handle is fixed and does not bend.I note that there is a handy voltage adjustment in the handle of the hairdryer for travel abroad (dual voltage) - but the biggest question for me is why anyone would want to travel with their hairdryer. Personally, I think a travel hairdryer is a bit ‘old school’ especially when most good hotel rooms supply their own.

I was suprised with this hairdryer. Considering they are marketed as travel, they are not a great deal smaller than my home pair and they don't fold up. When traveling, I am prepared to make some sacrifices in functionality and speed of drying hair, so I don't need all the whistles and bows if I have something that folds up in a small and light bundle. About the only thing travel related to this is that it is dual voltage, but most hair dryers will work abroad with the correct adaptor.Don't get me wrong, it is a very good hair dryer and does a good job. It is compact and light weight, sturdy, comfortable in the hand and has 2 heat settings with a cold shot.If you can afford the space and weight then it will suit your needs and you won't need to sacrifice qualit. However, if you are specifically looking for a hair dryer for travel and you want to travel small and light, then I would suggest you look around. There are some compact driers around that won't have all the whistles and bows, but will do you for a week or 2

This hairdryer has a wonderful feel in the hand - perfectly balanced and easy to manipulate so that the right part of your hair gets the heat. When I first saw this drier, it didn't occur to me initially that it was a travel model, but that it was a novel design and very compact, but this is of course because it needed to be of a size that was a little more portable than most.Like most driers these days, it has two speeds and heats and also a cold button that cuts out the heat so your hair doesn't overheat. There is also a removable filter at the back which allows you to keep the drier vent clear at all times and in good condition - simply twist anti-clockwise and pull away.Importantly from a travel perspective, this drier is dual voltage, so it will also work in 110V countries. When you have tried this you will ebjoy using it so much that you may want it as your main drier.I cannot get over how good this feels in the hand or its balance in use. A highly recommendable drier!

I had my old hairdryer for years, but noticed my hair was getting frizzy after using it and thought it was time to buy an upgrade. I received my BaByliss travel pro yesterday and used it for the first time today. I am very impressed. It’s a stylish looking hairdryer. The dryer is a bit bigger than a normal sized travel dryer and slightly heavier, (which is why I gave 3 stars for ‘lightweight’) which suits me as I plan to use this at home as well as when travelling. It feels really substantial and has good power. It dried my frazzled “no haircut for 6 months lockdown “ hair nice and quickly. I used the first heat power button and this was enough. I love the cool shot to set hair, really good.Result was smooth un-frazzled hair. Can’t wait to use it on holiday when my hair really suffers with the heat, the cool shot will be a godsend! So glad I chose this one!

You find with most mains devices that when you want the travel versions the word "travel" means "compromise", whether it be a hair dryer, kettle, iron, whatever. You choose either smaller size and lower power or larger size and mediocre power. This hair dryer obviously decided that power was the most important part of the equation, so it doesn't compromise much on size or compactness. It's almost just a normal hair dryer, but it is small.Performance-wise no issues. The dual voltage thing is handy but a shame it isn't automatic - probably a technical reason. It's very tricky to change it so probably advisable to do it before you travel so you don't get caught out somehow.Overall a decent smallerhair dryer.

I really feel that most of the negative reviews are written by people who didn’t fully understand what they were buying. The clue however, is in the description, Pro as in PROFESSIONAL! I use a Parlux Professional hairdryer at home but wanted something to take with me to the USA/Caribbean twice a year as mine due to the voltage won’t work. Compared to a Professional hair dryer this smaller, lighter, the cable isn’t quite as long and it comes with a decent directional nozzle. Also, as long as you use the correct size screwdriver the voltage is easy to change. It’s never going to be a good as a Parlux but is better than any hotel hairdryer I’ve used in the past 10 years, definitely worth £40.

Whilst there is no doubt that this is a good hairdryer, it's debatable over whether it's really a travel hairdryer. It looks nice, is pretty powerful, and despite having only two speeds, dries well. The length of the power cable is very good indeed; many hairdryers seem to think you should dry your hair with your head about six inches from a plug socket, but the cable on this one is 2.5m (over eight feet) long, so no such problems. However, it's not the lightest hairdryer in the world, which even though this makes it seem reassuringly solid, means that it's not as lightweight as others you can get. However, it's a good hairdryer, and it is smaller and lighter than most others. Four stars.

I purchased this travel hairdryer on the recommendation of a friend and after reading about it in the media. It is fantastic, easily as powerful as the one I use daily. Lightweight and unbelievably dries my hair in under ten minutes and I have a lot of hair to dry.Attractive to look at it takes up very little room in my suitcase and I have used it every day for two weeks on holidays and I am so pleased with this purchase and would recommend if you are looking, for a powerful lightweight travel hairdryer. I do not feel this can be beaten. Superb product that I. Am delighted with.

This Babyliss Travel Pro ticks some of the boxes for a travel hairdryer, it is dual voltage, has a decent length of lead and is reasonably compact, but ... the handle does not fold and it does not come with a case or bag ... but ... to counter that, you do get a good quality ionic (which according to my wife is a good thing) dryer with a decent amount of power. It is attractive in black and rose gold, is comfortable to hold and use, and as mentioned earlier, it does come with a reasonable length of lead.A reasonable price for a quality hair dryer.

Many reviews are saying this is too large for a travel hairdryer I have attached a picture so you can see my regular Babyliss and the Babyliss pro travel hairdryer which is considerably smaller I nearly didn’t buy this because of the size reviews but so glad I did make the purchaseIt is compact, the handle doesn’t fold but doesn’t cause a problem when packingIt is a little heavier than a regular travel hairdryer but it works like a regular pro hairdryer very impressed and would 100% recommend

It's really difficult to review this hairdryer, because, frankly, it's not a travel dryer. This is a lovely hairdryer, and I'm very pleased with it thus far - been using it just a week and it's a five star. However, it's really large, ie as large as a normal hairdryer, and you can't fold the handle - if I'd been desperately waiting for something to take travelling, to work, say, I'd have been furious.I won't be packing it in my case, but I will be using it, with enjoyment, at home.

25.9.2018

The first thing to note is that it's a compact hairdryer rather than an out and out travel drier. So it's bulkier than you might think. But you can only make so many compromises if you don't want to sacrifice power. And this is pretty powerful for a smaller than normal hairdryer. It certainly dried my hair quickly and it's got a long enough cord to cope with most awkwardly placed hotel room sockets. It's comfortable to hold and easy to use. A good product.

Bought this to take on holiday as my main dryer is a GHD and too valuable to take. This dryer performs just as well as the expensive GHD so is perfect for my needs. I agree it isn’t lightweight but that is in the description. Haven’t used it much so not sure about it’s longevity but it’s exactly what I wanted as I need a decent hairdryer, as neither a lightweight, standard travel dryer nor the ones in many hotels are any good to me.

I bought this for a recent trip to Antigua, which is the same voltage as the states 110 v. I have waist length extensions at the moment which you can imagine is very time consuming to blow dry. This hair dryer blew me away! (Not literally) I was genuinely shocked how good it was and how quickly it dried my hair even on 110v. So much so since returning home I’ve been using it instead of my normal hairdryer which cost £130.
