I initially bought this for a present for someone, however they had already been bought a hair dryer and as I couldn't return it for a full refund I thought I would make use of it myself. Whilst I am not someone that has really ever used a hair dryer bar the odd occasion and therefore perhaps not the leading knowledge in this area, this has had relatively frequent use from myself. I have found it to be quite effective at drying even when on the eco settings which are for energy conservation, although I should point out that as a male, my hair is never very long (never more than shoulder length). Also, while some hair dryers sound like jets at takeoff, this seems to be somewhat less so,but by no means silent. The only issue I can really think of for me is the length of the wire, which I would personally prefer to be longer.Pros- Eco setting- Not too noisy- Does the jobCons- Wire too shortOverallI believe this would make a good purchase for someone in need of a hair dryer, both as a present and for themselves, however it may not be as powerful for people with longer hair or those requiring specialist products, I cannot comment. I would define this as a middle-of-the-road product. Finally, I must say hair dryers are far from my area of expertise so take this review with a pinch of salt :)

This hairdryer was bought to replace a Babyliss eco hairdryer that had lasted me about ten years. It had a lot to live up to as I loved my old hairdryer. The lead is somewhat short but it is sufficient to dry your hair seated from about 30cm away from the socket, or standing beside the socket. The handle is very comfortable, and I like that you have the option of different levels of wind power and heat on separate controls. The cool shot is powerful and a nice touch for finishing off hair. I did not find the controls got in the way of the hair drying experience, even though my fingers did rest on them as I dried my hair. The directional bit on the end (not sure what the proper term is!) is good, but I never noticed in the pictures that it actually has some holes in the sides so what you get coming out the end of the nozzle is not a concentrated blast of all the air, just most of it. I have given only 4 stars for this reason, as I think it makes it take longer to dry my hair than my previous one.Other than one slight complaint above, it is a great dryer and I would be happy to recommend it, just bear in mind if your mirror or dresser is far from your sockets you may need to consider an alternative, or get an extension lead.

Brilliant low-cost hair dryer. Does exactly what is says on the box! It is plastic, but seems solidly built and the materials used make for a very light unit. Buttons are easy to set and adjust on the fly, very unobtrusive in the handle and can't get clicked from one position to another as easily as rocker switches in the same area can be.It's probably one of the quietest hair dryers I've ever used, I have tinnitus in my right ear and the dryer doesn't aggravate it as my last did.Dried my shoulder length curly hair in under 3 or 4 minutes on the low speed and eco heat setting .. Lead is long enough for me @ 5' 10" using a floor plug.Happy with it so far, it just does the job and didn't cost a fortune.Time will tell as to its longevity, my last one died a few weeks ago after 15 or more years of use, so it does have to fill some pretty good boots ..!It's cheap, it's cheerful, if you're looking for a budget hair dryer, I'd definitely say to give this a try ..<p.s.> It's packed with a seal on the box and a plastic bag inside, stating "Do not open if you don't intend to keep the product", which I find a bit strange, as you have to open it all up to test to see if it works and also if suits you and your needs.

I bought this hairdryer to replace a very old Braun make (20+ years old). This hairdryer is very powerful and also has a cold setting which is handy. It dries my hair quicker than the old one because obviously the power in these dryers have been much increased since I last bought one. It is quite a big size so only suitable for use at home, if you need one for a suitcase a travel hairdryer would be far better than this. There are three settings, a really powerful one , a kind of middle setting and the cold one. There are only two downsides for me personally. Lack of instructions as to what the ECO setting actually is - I set it to what I think it is and it is not much different to the normal power setting. The other thing is if you suffer from problems with manual dexterity the switches on the dryer are very difficult to move up and down. I actually use my fingernails to get in between the space, to work the sliders to set the power. So, if you have arthritis etc , this dryer is not for you. Other than this I am very happy with my purchase , it does the job I bought it for and it is a good powerful hairdryer.

I was after an affordable hair dryer when someone pointed me in the direction of this beauty.I was skeptical because of it's cheap price, usually cheap means buying twice - not this time.Due to being desperate at that particular moment, I scurried down to a local store to buy the hairdryer at the same price as Amazon which was handy.Inside the box is very basic, you get the dryer and a concentrate attachment, oh and a manual. For £12, what do you expect, huh? After opening the hair dryer and plugging it in, I found it to be a little... warm rather than hot but I gave it time and it soon warmed up! It produces a large volume of hot and fast air which cuts my drying time down too!The big benefit of this is it's lightness. I found my previous hairdryer cumbersome due to the weight and the fact the actual blower section being metal so this, ahem, burns you.I find the plastic design much cooler to hold and lighter too. Build quality is acceptable for something of this price range but it's short and sweet. I'm not a professional nor am I a stylist but it does the job I need.

This is a low-cost, value for money hairdryer that should tick most people's boxes. It's build quality does feel a little lightweight compared to some more expensive hairdryers, but it is still decent for this low price point and the upshot is that it does make the hairdryer lighter to hold. I find the slide controls trickier to use than rocker switch controls but it has enough power and heat settings for my needs. The cool shot button is also a welcome feature though all it does is reduce the heat to the hairdryer's lowest heat setting while pressed, so it's not that cold. The main bugbear though is the length of the power cord which is probably a couple of feet too short for most people. If you dry your hair standing in front of a mirror that doesn't have a power socket within a couple of feet of it, you are going to need to use an extension cable with this hairdryer. If the short cord length is not a dealbreaker for you though, this Remington is a very good buy.

This is a brilliant hair dryer and an absolute bargain. It may not be the most powerful one around, but it dries my short and fairly thick hair in no time, while leaving it noticeably more glossy and smooth than before. It is well-made and good-looking, while being light enough to be used as a travel dryer. The cord length has been mentioned by other reviewers, but at 1.75m it is exactly the same length as my old dryer and indeed the same as on a much more expensive Remington model that I returned. You are unlikely to find another dryer with separate heat and speed controls, plus a cool shot button at this price. The only real flaw is that the two control sliders are very stiff to move from their lowest positions, making it hard to turn on and for that reason I wouldn't recommend this dryer to anyone with problems with their hands. However, I have found that I can move them easily enough with my thumb nail so it's really not a problem for me.

I'm not a hairdryer fan, as it often takes forever to dry my very thick hair and I struggle to tolerate the noise that close to my ears for so long.I really like this dryer though, it is relatively quite (as far as dryers go) so doesn't hurt my ears, and without styling I can have my hair dry in under 10 minutes whilst using the eco settings. An added benefit is that it's not very heavy so that I can use it comfortably without getting sore arms. Only downside is the cable length which requires the use of a shoulder height plug or that sit down in order to use it (I'm 6'3"). However as I expect that it is of an average length and most dryers would have the same problem this isn't really an issuefor me.If you are looking for an effective hair dryer without having to spend a lot of money then I recommend this one.

I chose this travel dryer for use mainly on UK holidays and as it comes with appropriate plug does not require me to remember to include adaptor. It is light weight but powerful and as it has ionic plates my hair is not left flyaway. My only criticism of this hairdryer and the reason for 4 stars is the length of cable. It is only a little more than a metre long which means it must be used close to a power socket. This would be acceptable in most modern hotels which usually have a socket beside the dressing table mirror but in older accommodation including private homes / self catering properties, mirrors are often not beside skirting mounted sockets so unless one packs a mirror or an extensioncable it can be difficult to see hair while it is being dried.

I was looking for a good hairdryer with different heat settings at a low price and hopefully get one step closer to the salon blow dry look. This hairdryer is easy to use, at a good price the different heat settings make me feel more confident using it to dry my baby's hair and is way better than ones I have had in the past. Some have mentioned the slider switches being a problem but I think once you get used to it it is fine. My only complaint would be that it would dry my hair a bit quicker but for the price it is a great buy.I am no hair stylist proffesional but after using it together with my boar brush hairbrush I started to get comments on how nice my hair looked! All in all happy that Ibought it and would recommend.

I was looking for a hair dryer to replace a Babyliss one I had for years. I was looking to replace with 2000w but there are so many different options available, including much more expensive models with higher wattage. However, this is a great piece of kit, lightweight, easy to use and has a good strong drying performance. I have very long hair but I haven't found any issues with hair being sucked into the end - this is a risk with long hair of any hari dryer - my old one used to do it.For immediate use I would highly recommend. There is absolutely no need (or point) in spending more. As afar as longevity goes,I can't comment on that as yet but at the price it's just as easy to replace with a new one.

I was recently bought some straighteners for my birthday and decided I definitely needed a hairdryer to go with them! Amazon was my first and only stop, I must say however, that the positive reviews on this hairdryer definitely helped me make the decision to purchase it and I am delighted I did. It was delivered really quickly and I basically just plugged it in and that was it!The size is perfect and it is not too heavy - and I have thick hair which needs a lot of drying.Really simple to use, good temperature control and I like the fact there's an 'eco' setting. I think the matt black actually makes it look a very attractive piece of machinery! Well worth the money.

A nice hair dryer, easy to use and nice design. It took my hair a while to get used to it but now it has the results are lovely-soft, sleek hair with lots of volume.(My hair is naturally very curly and can be frizzy)I use it on a low setting on the economy/environmentally friendly heat and it works beautifully. It does take quite a while to dry but it means my curly hair stays curly and not frizzy.I've found that if you use any volume or other products it takes a lot longer to dry with this dryer but without any at all it dries in a relatively short time.Overall a good, value for money product and i would recommend it as fast delivery, cheap and good quality!

I've only used this product for a few weeks, and I'm happy with the hairdrying results! I have fairly fine, short hair and it only takes a few minutes on the high settings dry my hair through. The dryer has two speed settings and three heat settings, with an 'eco' setting that is meant to be the most energy efficient setting. I can't really comment on the 'environmentally friendly' claims, because lets face it, the energy consumed by the average hairdryer for five minutes equates to the average energy consumed by lighting a home for a year. So can really call a hairdryer environmentally friendly? Maybe this one is just slightly less of an energy guzzler.

Perfectly decent little hair dryer - nothing fancy in terms of functions - its either cool or hot, low speed or high speed - no 'in-between' temperatures or speeds.I use this with a bonnet to achieve indirect heat and Ive been very pleased so far. My hair is so low-porosity its ridiculous, so if I want any treatments to penetrate into my hair instead of sitting on my hair like a gross film, I literally need to set it into my hair strands with small amounts of heat from the hair dryer and bonnet (I alternate between temperatures a lot, during each session.) I've just started using this technique and this hair-dryer is doing a fine job.
