I have thick afro hair that is currently relaxed and this hairdryer is perfect for me. The pik attachment stays on while it goes through my thick hair so I can dry my hair in half the time. I used to use an ordinary hairdryer with a pik attachment but it didn't stay on and kept falling off. With the attachment, you can only use the heat/speed setting on No 2 but that is still powerful enough to dry my hair quickly. It is also not too heavy and comfortable to use. It has a much longer lead than my old hairdryer which makes it more convenient. I would recommend this hairdryer for anyone who has a similar hair type.

Very impressed with this hair dryer. I was sceptical about buying it from reading previous reviews about the attachments falling off, but if you apply abit of force and make sure it's securely on you will have no problems. Mine did not come off once! And I have very notty hair! Dried my hair evenly and I only used the lowest setting as that was absolutely fine for my hair and didn't need to go any hotter. The only negative I can think of, and it's a small one but the weight of the dryer is a little heavy. But this could be due to my weak arms. Other than this I would recommend this product.

I have bought this hair dryer for my daughter who has gorgeous curly hair (lots of small spirals and a tendency to tangle if not combed regularly). It is an excellent product and my daughter seems to like the fact that I am brushing and drying her hair at the same time. It is far less painful than just combing. Once her hair is dry and detangled, it is so easy to comb and plat. My daughter is happy and so I am.I would highly recommend buying this product. You won't have the same results that you get by going to an hairdresser, but you can get close enough!

I have very thick afro hair and have used many different hairdryer brands. My hairdresser recommended the wahl powerpik dryer to me and I am loving it! I was completely shocked by the price and how well it works. I need a dryer that gets very hot so having the low med and high settings was great. It's also good to have the removable pik attachment so you can comb and dry the hair at the same time. I read a few negative reviews about the product but I have to say I have had no trouble at all a year on from using the dryer

My mum has one of these items and wanting my hair straight one day I decided to blow dry my hair using this hairdryer with the pik attached to it.My hair which is a 3c/3b went completely straight with no frizz or fly away hairs whilst still maintaining its volume. My hair has never gone this straight before without the use of a straightener, which is much more damaging and drying to the hair. What's more the style lasted for 4 days. I was so amazed I had to buy one! Great price too and came really quickly.

Excellent hairdryer - I bought it because I'm fed up with all the readily available hairdryers that manufacturers seem to think need to be ever more powerful. If you have fine, thin hair most dryers end up blowing it all over the place. As you style one section, you're undoing what you've already done because the dryer is too strong, they also don't help the condition of your hair. This is a good, dryer with variable heat options but settings which can be relatively gentle. Highly recommend.

I bought it for my daughter who has VERY long mixed race curly hair. And I am still wondering why I never thought of that before. It has made our lives easier. I no longer stress to wash her hair and the crying is over too. It detangles very well and the hair is now really easy to manage. I only use it on the lowest setting though and with a heat protectant + nourish with coconut oil as I'm not intending to "blow dry" her hair per se. Just make it manageable and tangle free.

I have quite long and thick afro hair so when it comes to drying and strengthening it, its definitely hard work! This hair dryer does the trick and straightens my hair enough to make it soft and manageable. My only compliant was (although after a while) that the pik attachment broke, but I boil this down to the thickness of my hair, so if you have extra thick hair, be mindful and buy yourself a replacement pik as a back up. Overall I would recommend it.

This is a replacement for my old Hair Dryer which was on it's last leg. I have always used Wahl Afro hair dryer, it's the best on the market. This particular producet is smaller and neater than my last dryer and heats up the instant it's switched on. I would be at a loss without it. I take it abroad with me and just plugs it into the adapter for that particular country. An excellent product at a very competitive price

The instruction manual says not to use the dryer at the highest setting when you use the pik attachment. The pik attachment removed a few times even though I used the lowest heat setting but I think this is because of how thick my hair is (4c hair). It didn't straighten my hair like flat-iron straight but it made it workable. It also has a button you can hold down if you want cool air instead

Love this light hairdryer and so easy to handle. I do not have Afro hair, I just wanted it so I could tame my hair back into style after wearing it in a bun during the night and with the with the comb attachment that's just what it does with the help of a little heat. Effortless. Would recommend this hairdrier. Better than all the ones out there believe me and the Price you cannot beat it

Definately value for money. Us Black Afro Caribbean women our hair is unique.We need the comb at the end of the hair dryer. Why oh, why have the ordinary cosmetic retailers not switched on to this. In fact, I found one retailer who stocked the Wahl Afro Powerpik Dryer, and it was double the price!!!!! So my advice, to all our black unique woman out there, keep shopping around.

This hairdryer really makes drying my daughter's long mixed race hair much easier. I didn't have any problems with the pik attachment coming off as other reviewers have mentioned, but I can see how it would happen as it just slides on, they could improve the design by having it 'click' on. It didn't find it got too hot either, it says not to use the pik on the hottest setting.

I recently purchased a Wahl Afro Powerpik Hair Dryer 1250W With Pik Attachment. Perfect working order, good delivery time and excellent packaging, comes with detailed instructionsand two separate pieces to work with the hair dryer, has an UK plug for sockets, worth the price, cheapesti have found even from afro hair shops, this price is still cheaper and free delivery too
