First of all this comes with the required three AAA batteries (yay!). There are 8 tunes included - all pretty well known nursery rhyme type songs:Twinkle, Twinkle Little StarIf You're HappyOld McDonald Had a FarmLondoon Bridge is Falling DownSkip To My LouThe Eensy Weensy SpiderHead, Shoulders, Knees and ToesRow, Row, Row Your BoatI’m not sure why the volume is controlled by moving the bottom. Maybe it’s intentional as parents can set it and stop their wee one turning it up! The buttons to control the speed of the song, record etc are all easily accessible. This toy is a bit limited but our wee one really enjoyed using it although as a parent it gets a bit annoying after a while.

This little mic is intended for toddlers and its performance should be judged in that context. It has a recording as well as an amplification function and it is pre-loaded with 8 familiar ditties to sing along to like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Old MacDonald Had A Farm. The volume is adjustable by rotating the base unit and the power comes from 3xAAA batteries. The speed of the pre-recorded tunes can be adjusted for lyric learning purposes and/or added fun. The recording function enables kids to 'tape' themselves singing and was very popular with the little ones in our family over Christmas.

My daughter has been singing her heart out with this fun little microphone. It comes with a handful of preset nursery rhymes that you can sing along to. The production quality of the music isn't amazing but it gives a starting point for any child who's not sure what to sing.There's a handy volume twist control on the bottom and control switches for playing the tunes and also for the really great record and play function which is my daughter's favourite feature...she's had lots of fun recording herself and playing it back.Would be 5 stars all the way if it wasn't for the price....this in my opinion is a toy worth well under 20 quid in terms of build and what it does.

This is very well made and packaged nicely in a small box. It comes with the batteries which is always a god send if its for a gift. This would in fact make a perfect gift for any young budding popstars. The volume is adjustable, also a godsend!!! Just twist the bottom to the turn up or down. Easy to set up and a good array of tunes to sing to and the voice sounds good and can easily be heard alongside the music playingif the volumes are correct and close to the mic. Ideal for little hands and a real winner for thise who love to sing and dance.8 tunes and ofcourse you can always just sing your own tunes into it instead.

Writing in response to the reviews that say this is 'too quiet'. I initially thought the same, but we've found the volume button at the bottom. The bottom of the mic twists to turn it up and down. For our purposes, this is the best toy microphone we've tried. Bought for the recording function to try and encourage my 18 month old to talk. Easy record and playback does the job. Doesn't seem to have much amplification, so not great if that's what you want it for. Plays lots of catchy sing along songs.

Well, its a fun microphone for your little superstar. comes Preloaded with tunes, some annoying, others less os but what I can say is it will be a hit if you have a little popstar in the making. The amplification is thankfully not so loud that I want to accidentally drop it in the bathwater to save my nerves. The adults had a test run and so far this seems like a fun little object to amuse especially on those rainy evenings!

This looked absolutely brilliant! But after taking out of the box and trying it out we come to realise ours was sadly not working. We tried everything. But it wasn’t to be. It did look great! I can see any boy or girl enjoying it now end. And it would have been worth the money. Will make a great Christmas or birthday gift.

My kids have loved recording themselves and playing it back - it has become an endless source of amusement. Worth it for that alone. Haven't done much singing yet but there are a number of songs to sing along too as well. Build quality is ok, a bit cheap feeling but then it is just a kids toy, not a professional mic!

Brilliant toy microphone, my 17 month old son loves it. The pre-recorded tunes are great and very suitable. The recording mode is lots of fun too. Volume is good.

Brought for my 3.5 year old daughter for Christmas. Has become her favorite toy as she loves to sing. The recording function allows for some fun recordings.

This is a perfect piece of toy for all children who love to sing! My grandson loves it. He got other instruments so now he is a band ;)

Really good product, but my 3 year old didn’t know what to do with it, sound quality amazing and value for money for what it does

The kids love it, its slightly repetitive and could do with a few more "jingles", but it keeps them amused, so its not all bad.
