Supertrucks are the new addition to Anki Overdrive - a "robotic" driving game, where the cars an dtrucks drive themselves around the track, and you control weapons and lane changes.If you want to know know more about ANKI OVERDRIVE< read up on the Starte pack, which is essential. Without the starter pack, theres no point owning anything else. The starter pack contains the start finish line, whcih you will of course need, and its not available separately. Despite this, the starter pack is great value for money, and its a great way to see if you'd like to invest more.On to the truck. There are three trucks at the monet to buy - Freewheel - a green one. X52 - a red one.And x52 ice - a white one.Freewheel works like any other truck in ANKI OVERDRIVE. It's around three times larger than the cars, and essentially slower - but more powerful. The result is that it can physically knock out cars frequently, and win the race by sheer force.Tactics for the trucks are basically to power your way to victory with the weapons and brute force, and the Rage mode (see later), and also to try and block the cars going past you by weaving. The trailer is large enough to cover a good chunk of the width of the track as you weave, so you can easily get a car stuck behind you. In fact, the top lvl AI players do this to great effect, and it can be very annoying, and impressive to watch too!The trucks have different weapons, as do the cars. Freewheel has a forward firing weapon, similar to most cars, that if it catches you oopponent will damage them. The rear weapon is used when someone tries to drive past Freewheel. It will pull them behind Freewheel, and lock them in place for ashort time, allowing Freewheel to have a shield in essence.After a while of driving, Rage mode will be powered up. This is the trucks hyper mode, and makes the truck speed significantly faster - almost up to car speed. The only thing yuo do now as the truck driver is steer around and let the Rage mode do its thing. Freewheels rage mode, again pulls cars behind itself, and also damages them and makes them spin out of control after too. ITs a lethal combination, that foten results in awake of spun out and off track cars behind Freewheel - great fun :)As far as i can see, the truck can also NOT be affected by tractor beams. I've tried on multiple occasions to slow them down, but it appears they are immune. Cars will slow to a stop if they are beamed on for long enough. The trucks just drive on unaffected.Trucks also DO NOT JUMP. And they dont like ramps too much either. They will go up and down ramps, and they will take banked corners ok, but occasionally they may slip if on the high end - but then thats part of the fun!Finally, with the trucks comes a new type of play - Takeover. This is essentially a battle, where yoyu fight to own the truck, and then use the truck to sdamage your opponent. Its good fun, but personally i just prefer straight out battle or race - the classics :)Overall then, the trucks in general are great fun to play, and a welcome addition to ANKI Overdrive.

Freewheel is a great addition to any Overdrive fleet, I am lucky enough to own Nuke and Guardian too, and have tested them against Freewheel. They are no match to him, but there is still great fun and hilarious gameplay when he is used. The Takeover game-mode is my favourite, and it is really fast-paced, even more so than battle race. It can take a while to get going at the start of a race but once you begin to unleash RAGE you have a very high chance of winning, I personally like to use Nuke against him with his powerful weapons. A little secret too: He is immune to tractor beams and scramblers. He is so powerful that a team of three silver AI commanders using Groundshock, Skull,and Nuke could not even begin to get any points in the king of the hill game mode. So if you're all about armour, weapons and sheer strength than this is the one for you, he can also shove cars out of the way easily, though there are a few things to consider before buying:Do you own a jump kit? Trucks just can't use them.Are you a skilled driver? RAGE can be really fast and you need to drive carefully on corners, at times.Thanks for reading my review!

If you have OverDrive, you will know that the Super Trucks were the last real addition prior to 'Anki' going bust and 'Digital Dream Labs' taking over the shop.This expansion added new games and modes to the already popular platform but were costly, however this was only £21.00 when I bought which was unbelievable. I know that there is a risk that the platform could be defunct but it still has an app and DDL look to be looking to new content. So we will have to wait see.This adds a lot of fun for the platform at an affordable price.Highly recommend to OverDrive owners.

Review from a 9 year old:I love Freewheel because it is so overpowered. It’s my favourite vehicle of them all! It keeps good charge and it takes ages for the battery to run out. I love the way it is articulated like a real lorry too. Definitely get this truck and you will have the best Anki Overdrive times ever!

This was not what I was expecting, I thought it might be bigger and tougher than this. It seemed like a flimsy plastic but does work very well and is a great toy for the price, definitely would recommend this product.

I was surprised how good this was, it can easily compete with the cars and adds another gametype to the ones available. The rage mode is a bit pointless as it just means it comes off the track but still fun

The package did take a little longer to come than expected, but its fine. I really love playing with the freewheel and I gave it 5-star because its probably the best thing I've ordered this year! Thank you.

My boys were really excited when this arrived, not disappointed! My youngest uses the supertruck all the time, he no longer cares about wining, only smashing all the other cars off the track, great fun!

Upgrade for last years Chrismas present for the Grandkids. It added another dimension to the Anki game. Its different from the cars.The kids loved it. (OK we all loved it)
