This is a nice cake pan, a good size and comes with instructions and a recipe.The pan is a thinner metal than I've used before (but I've never had a detailed "character" cake pan before), I don't know if this is for any technical baking reasons or just to use less material but I do worry about denting it in the cupboard where the other heavier pans are stored.My first and so far only effort with this one led to an unfortunate problem with all of the detail from Dora's face sticking to the nooks and crannies in the pan and coming out rather featureless. Once she'd been iced it probably wasn't too much of a problem, and maybe I should have used some proper cake release spray.

This pan makes a pretty good Dora cake representation --- the tricky part is icing it since that it really what makes it resemble Dora, but this pan bakes a detailed enough representation that you can generate a very good result if you just take your time and follow the recommended process to ice and decorate.We used out-of-the-box "Fun-fetti" type cake mix and followed the package directions. For icing, we made our own using confectioners sugar and different food colorings.(My wife gets credit for actually doing this, I just collect her feedback and type the review)

The item got home at the promised date. Even though it requires some level of detail at the bottom (tracing the map, backpack, etc) is is great for both novice and experienced baker/decorator. I put it over a rectangular-shaped pan and did a two-tiered Dora themed cake! It looked beautiful. As with every pan that has some details on it... remember to grease it well for easy release!! I had absolutely no problems with it and the details were clear in the cake to follow. After all, it's Wilton!

I ordered the Dora Cake pan and was given the tentative delivery dates as between 15th of March to the 25th of March. I was to leave on the 20th of march so I panicked and sent The Craft Shop an e-mail. I received a reply the very same day. I was informed not to worry at all and that I would receive it well in time !! I DID !! Today is the 9th of March !! I LOVEEED the Cake pan and My daughter who loves Dora is thrilled !! Thank you The Craft Shop and thank you Amazon !!

Make sure to spray and flour the pan well before the batter. I didn't and I lost part of her face but it didn't matter when I put the icing and used the wilton dora icing color set. It took me almost 2 hours but I think it looks like Dora. My 2 year old, recognized her so that's all that matters. My local bakery wanted over 50 dollars for a Dora cake. With the cake pan, I can make the cake whenever I want at a reasonable price.

I hate Dora, but my niece loves Dora. This cake looks just like Dora, but then you have to spend time frosting it to make it look nice. Lucky for me I just had to order the pan for my sister and she made the cake for her daughters birthday. As far as the ordering went the product showed up on time and was as described. Also the cake was delicious, but the pan can't guarantee good taste.

Loved this! I bought it for my daughters 3 year old birthday party. I made sure to grease and flour the cake pan before I put the batter in. It came out after baking without any issues and the lines were clear enough for me to ice. Map was a little challenging to ice though - but that was mostly due to user inexperience. All in all, two thumbs up for this!

I just made a cake with this pan for my daughter's birthday and it came out great! I had to mix the colors for the skin and guess since Wilton stopped selling the "Dora" gel color pack.Make sure you follow the instructions about how to grease/ready the pan because it will stick if you don't use shortening/flour!!!

Come with the usual instructions from Wilton on the suggested colours and sizes of tips to be used for decorating. Really good pan. Cake baked evenly and turned out well. I sprayed the pan with cooking spray and dusted with flour, absolutely no problems. Would definitely recommend.

My soon-to-be step-daughter loves Dora! I bought this and made it for her birthday last year. Of course she loved it! Adorable cake pan. Easy to use instructions come with it, and I love how a boxed cake fits perfectly in all of the Wilton cake pans.

This pan is awesome and resulted in a fabulous 2nd birthday cake for our Dora-loving daughter! No issues with burning or sticking (though I COATED it with PAM before baking!) Buy the Wilton gel icing tints to make the colours really pop.

The Dora Back Pack cake pan was awesome. I have used other shaped cake pans and after you bake them the outlines are not visable, but this cake had all the outlines visable on the bread once it was baked, making it very easy to ice.

The pan instructions made it easy to use. Our one mistake was not thick enough icing when we did ice it. Amazon.com shipped the product at a very fast speed and it came even international, on time.

This pan was great....the only thing I didn't like was the picture for the isntructions was reversed so it made it a little harder to match up what i was doing to the drawing
