I bought a colour set from Wilton to go with it. In my little brain it was a six tier set...... so with difficulty I divided my 3 egg mix by six and weighed each one out at 145grams each and couldn't work out why I had an amount of mix left over, duh. I used Dr Oetker's release spay on 5 of them and they came out fine, I didn't on the last one which sat and waited for the first five to cook, that was harder to remove. My recipe for an all in one mix was weigh 3 eggs in their shells, same weight of fat (I used Stork as my butter was too hard), caster sugar, SR flour, pinch of salt round teaspoon of baking powder and a couple of teaspoons of good vanilla extract. It needed cooking for 13 minutes at 165C in my fan oven.

I bought these to make a multi layered cake but ended up sending them back without using them as once opened you could see that the pans have slanted sides instead of straight. I didn't feel this would be suitable for the project I had in mind and thought that the slanted edges would cause issues with icing the cake. I was expecting a straight sided pan. I ended up purchasing a different set of Wilton pans which worked well for my purpose. these are very very shallow pans that are only suitable to make very thin layers, which is fine if that's what you're looking for and it was what I was looking for but that said they still weren't suitable for my needs.

I purchased this kit because I wanted to attempt to make a rainbow cake for the first time. The lock down period has got me into baking again.I followed a recipe that I found on the internet and it was straight forward. I put all five cake tins in the oven and allowed to cook for 20 mins. Once they all cooled I added the buttercream.The cake tins are great because they enable all the cakes to be even, level and all cooked at the same time. I was very impressed with the finished product. Most importantly it tasted amazing!I would highly recommend these cake pans as it made the whole process effortless.

Bought these as wanted to try something else with my kids, I am not very experience with baking but thought I would give it a go. The trays are nice quality although would like them to be a bit bigger, there is no need to use anything like baking paper etc which is a bonus. All the 5 trays fitted in a standard size oven at the same time which is great, no waiting time, etc. They were easy to handle even for a child. Cooled down quickly and we were very pleased with our cake in the end. It is very nice useful baking accessory to have, especially when baking with the kids!

Love this product. Yes the tins may be smaller than you expect and they are shallow and they do cook quickly. But they stack up to make quite a tall cake. The design of the tins means you can put in and lift out of the oven without messing up your cake mix. There is a recipe in the box but I found a Victoria sponge recipe which did the job. Also the recipe inside says to spray the tins with oil but i found the cakes still stuck a little bit so would advise a small circle of baking parchment. The picture is my first attempt with the tins. Who doesn't love a rainbow cake?

I really like these cake tins.Wilton is known for their high quality and this is no different.I've used these tins a few times now and am overall very happy with the outcome.Wonderful for making a rainbow cake, or a cake that requires a lot of small layers, instead of making thicker layers and cutting it into many different layers.The tins did not stick, but I would recommend using some oil or butter regardless.They cooked evenly and didn't need to be rotated partway through.The tins come with a small folded paper that includes several recipes and suggestions.

Brilliant set of pans. I was worried after reading all of the reviews but produced a fantastic rainbow cake with no problems at all. Here is the simple recipe I used weigh your eggs in their shells (I used 7 medium just over 400g), weigh same amount of butter, caster sugar and self raising flour. Cream sugar and butter first then add eggs one by one before flour. I had no baking parchment but buttered and floured pans and cakes came out easily.Size is small but given height of final cake you don’t want big slices.

I was sceptical when the tins first arrived because of how shallow they are but having used them this weekend my cake turned out perfect! unfortunately my oven was not big enough to fit all 4 forms at once so i had to bake 2 and then the next 2 but because of how shallow they are, the baking time was just about 15min. it was a little difficult to get the cake out of the tins though (even with butter and flowering them) so would recommend buying round parchment paper liners! overall good items.

These cake tins made my rainbow cake easy to make! The pans were a bit smaller than I was expecting and I over filled them as I made too much mixture (something I have since learned from probably only need the same amount of mixture you would use for a 20cm Victoria sponge max) but they all fitted onto two selves in the oven. Used with Wilton's gel colours, it makes quite a tall cake with it's 5 layers. This cake made our nightshift at work that much more fun!

These are very effective if you want to have the multicoloured layered effect! I found the cooking times hard to adjust to with them being a lot thinner than usual, and because the tins are fairly rounded I found it needed a lot of building up with buttercream to create a flat and even cake. Great for the coloured look but I find myself craving a deeper cake tin for standard cakes! Good quality though and easy to store as they stack nicely together.

I’ve always baked deeper cakes and split them, which generally means doing a Madeira cake. I’ve made all sorts of different layer cakes, including a chocolate, caramel and vanilla one. I put about 200-250g of cake batter in each tin and bake for about 20-25 mins at 140C. I think I could get away with more but I haven’t risked it. I also cut out a circle of greaseproof to line the bottom, the cake pulls away from the sides as it bakes.

These pans are exactly what you need to make a 5 layer rainbow cake. Very easy to use, nonstick surface and cooks the cake evenly. I made a gorgeous gluten-free cake using the Wilton food colour gel pastes and it was a great success. They can be used over and over again - you don't need to pay lots of money to have someone else make your cake! I attach photo below, purple frosting doesn't show how bright the cake colours actually are.

In not really a baker...but I've been trying a bit more due to lockdown. I intended to buy these to make a rainbow cake but as you can see it ended up as my VE day cake...I'm so pleased how it turned out. The tins are smaller than I thought..but actually makes a good sized cake. I love them. The cake did stick a little bit..but that was my fault...I greased them but should have put a circle of grease proof paper on.

Perfect cake tins for my granddaughters to bake a layer cake.Just loved these tins, they are only 6” wide, they make the perfect layer cake, I hadn’t read the dimensions and was expecting something larger, pleasantly surprised when the finished article made a cake perfect for 6 people.The girls had so much fun putting the cake together, they wanted a 6 layer cake so just popped in an extra layer.

They look tiny when I saw them first, but after I made the 5 layered cake with all its deco, it more than duobled in hight and I was mor than happy that I only the small size and not it bigger versions. Very easy to clean and even after 10 cakes, they look like brand new. only problem is the relative thickness of the cake layers, if the cake gets removed to early, it the cake tends to breake apart.
