In my view this game has been unfairly criticised in some gaming sites. If you like a pure strategic battle game without the tedious resource management and/or you like Warhammer, and you want to play it on a console, then you may like this game despite the reviews. In fact in some cases, some of the criticisms about the control system are just completely false. It made me wonder if the reviewer had actually played the game.Despite what some reviews say, the control system works well. It is simply a matter of getting used it. you will make mistakes at the beginning, but you will learn from them. And this is the same for any similar tactical battle games like Total War.It is certainly not a pick up and play type of game, but on the other hand, if you do the tutorial and read the manual, you will soon be manouvering your troops quite effectively on the battlefield in the first campaign. The initial missions are quite small in scale, allowing you to get used to the controls. Also, I find on easy level in the early missions, their are sometimes lulls in the combat which allow you reform your army before pressing forward into combat again.The battles are fun to fight and very tactical. Admitedly, it is hard to see the detail of individual soldiers when you look at the battlefield in the heat of battle, but frankly that is the same for any similar type game (again like Total War).The campaign is very linear. It is a story and there is no strategy involved, except for the RPG element in the game where you have to heal, upgrade and recruit troops and heros. This doesn't bother me, but seems to bother many other people. The cut scenes are admittedly not up to the cinematic standards of many next-gen games, but frankly, they do the job fine. The story is OK and the voice acting is very good.The individual missions I have played so far are interesting and varied. If you use standard tactics like keeping your troops together and using heros and missile troops effectively, there is no problem winning the scenarios on easy. Although it is still challenging.There are other areas of the game. There are custom battles where you can choose a battlefield, the type of battle, the enemy,etc and battle single player against the AI. You can also choose to exclude or include certain types of troops such as heros, siege units and mercenaries. Or you can let the xbox choose.There is also an army customization tool. I always liked Warhammer, but could not be bothered spending the significant amount of time and money required to collect and paint models, So this game does the job just fine for me.I have also been online a few times. The community is quite small, but I have never had a problem getting a game. The battles are very varied and fun as the battles are different each time. You can create your own army using the custom tool use it on line if you want. The level of the players is varied. I have won a few battles and lost few more, but it has always been entertaining.All this adds to its longevity. I expect to be playing my own battles and camplaigns with custom armies long after I finish the campaign. This is after all what the game is really about.The game is not without its faults but the main ones do not relate to the game play in the battles.The amount of supporting information for the game is very poor. This is the sort of game that desperately needs a detailed supporting manual. But the manual is very slim and only gives some basic commands. The developer really should have put more effort into providing more information to help gamers, especially because of the poor reviews. The game is actually quite good, but it feels like its been abandoned sometimes. However, I have found that there is an active community in the WWW.xbox. website and you can also find quite a lot of useful information on the game from other gamers there.The three short tutorials are useful and perhaps even essential to start off with. But you have to follow it carefully. If you miss an instruction, it won't go back to let you see it again. You have to start that tutorial again. However, they are short. Also, there is an error in one of the tutorials (on how to combine a hero with a unit), which does not help. In this case, refer to the manual.In conclusion if you like Warhammer, or the idea of fighting RTS fantasy battles (withiout resource management) on the 360, then I would recommend this game. It isn't perfect, but it is a lot better that the 50's score some reviewers are giving it.

Ok ill start this review of battle march with a quick overview, warhammer battle march is a strategy game pure and simple, u do not bulid bases u buy troops and what u start a battle with is what u have, the game features 6 uniques races the empire, the chaos, the high elves,the dark elves, the skaven and finally the orcs and goblins. Now in addition to the empire and chaos campaigns that featured in mark of chaos the orcs and goblins get their own campaign which features the dark elevs as well; it would have been nice to have changed the empire and chaos campaigns but since i was unable to play the game on my PC and relieing on a friends PC i never really played those campaigns which means ihave no problem with this.The achievments exclusive to the xbox 360 add a whole new level to the game as u may imagine, the achievements are a 50/50 mix of campaign achievents such as complete the empire campaign to kill 3 enemies with one magic spell. however the multiplayer achievements are as u might imagine slightly more harder than the campaigns. There is one called longbeard which is to PLAY (not win thankfully) 100 multiplayer games of any game type, which isnt hard just time consuming. other achievements are to win a duel with your characters to winning an entire battle with just heroes. EEK.The multiplayer battles for the xbox 360 will thankfully be of better quality than the PC's which were full of glitches, the WORLD DOMINATION mode is a welcomed edition to the game wich features players choosing their race from all 6, which start together on seperate areas of world map. This world map includes alot of areas that each team is trying to control, hence the name world domination. Each area has certain properties such as supplyin you with more gold. Now thankfully this multiplayer mode will feature all the game types (including the 2 addtionall modes such as caravan escort)not just versus. 2v2 battles and even 3v3 battles will be present aswell a seige battles which give people a variety of game types to play.Now to many peoples prayers a skirmish mode will be added to the game for those who want to play it however i will be concetrating on world domination(havnt picked my army yet might just resort to picking out of a hat). In addition to the new skirmish mode this game will feature new units for the four existing armies , the chaos will recieve mounted maraurders, the empire a shiny new morter, the high eleves warrior lions of charce (which look... amazing simply amazing), and well im not tooo suer about the new unit for skaven but im hoping for a rattling gun. Fingers crossed.Heros for those who dont know are the back bone to an armies success, they main role as heroes is too keep the troops in order keeping thier morale high and adding extra comabat strengh depending on what type they are; in campaign and in multiplayer your heros will advance in levels and when they do they will earn exsperience, which can be used to improve on their 3 key areas combat,command and DUEL. Duel is soething that features alot in the muliplayer modes which is when two characters go head to had in A RING OF FIRE using their special duel abilities to out do their opponants, the winner will of course recieve exsperience and bragging rights (especially when it is a skaven cheiftan that has just killed a high elve prince)while the loser recieves a huge morale damage to the rest of the army which can sometimes ensure victory if the enemies army runs away in fear.Well since ive written alot ill sum it up the game is gd some people will find it average some will find it amazing, but with a whole new bag of features that improves on the mark of chaos game this really is a whole new game.

I would give this a 4 and a half if that was an option but it isnt so 4 stars it is battlemarch is a great game if your familiar to the warhammer franchise or just like fantasy games but if you dont then youre gonna have some trouble getting into this personaly i find the game outstanding but just for the fact that i know some will be thrown away by the poor controls or complex army designes but overall a must buy for warhammer and fantasy fans alike but if youre neither of those you may not see the appeal.

I ordered this game for my partner, it arrived promptly which I was pleased with; however was disappointed especially as it was a birthday present that the product arrived damaged and it did not state on advertisement that the back cover was in a different language as well as the instruction booklet that came with it; although the game does play in English. Overall the game itself is good quality and still worth the purchase.

I never saw a video game for warhammer before this. I haven't played it much yet but it looks so good. I love the fact you can create your own army and upgrade stuff on the battlefield. I think at the start it's hard to use, but the tutorial helps you with the button hub. It is a great game, I would recommend it to anyone who likes the genre.

i almost didnt buy this game as the reviews were so bad and to be honest it's not amazing but if you enjoy games like dawn of war and enjoy RTS then its the game for you takes a bit to get into it but its a decent game so dont listen to the bad reviews !!!!

this should be good specialy the body swap on it and the new races but they should add the vampire counts and tomb king also i hope they add proper skimish were you build a base and force not a campaign

Love the game I've played it before. Have ordered from zoverstocks many times, the prices are always reasonable and the products always get here quickly and un-damaged spot on! ?????
