I thought I'd give this one a try since my keyboard is over 5 years old with pretty much daily usage. I've been using a Dell SK-8115, which has been pretty much the best keyboard I've ever used on regularly. So this trust keyboard has a lot to live up to!Firstly, setting up was easy. Unplugged old keyboard, plug in new keyboard, wait a few seconds and start typing. The keyboard then shows its illuminated keys, which is useful if you're in a darkened room. Reminds me of the old Alienware laptops I used to own. However in daylight if you turn off the backlight, the keys then become difficult to read.Ergonomically, I much prefer the old keyboard for typing, which is a shame, since the key button press action seems a bit less tactile, less bounce back as it were. Maybe it just me not adjusting to a slightly different feel.Having been used to a compact keyboard (with full sized keys), I'm used to no border around the keys, particularly under the space bar. So this I think takes a bit of getting used to.I fired up a couple of games, and found that it Does work well with games. So no complaints there. You can customise the backlight to pulsate and also change the brightness levels, though these are more of a gimmick than anything else.Pros- illuminated keyboard- seems reasonably well made, and the keys are responsive- you can turn off the windows keys!!!- definitely no key clashing issues when playing games (key presses not responding if multiple keys presses at once)- well priced (sub £20 at time of review)Cons- the plastic surround has a cheap feel to it. This is noticeable below the space bar where you have to rest your hand- hard to see the keys if you turn off the illumination- does not feel as nice to key as other keyboardsIn summary, I like this keyboard for playing games on, and this is a good keyboard, but for day to day use, I do prefer my trusty old keyboard from many years ago (but only because that is an exceptional keyboard, though no longer made, with newer models of that being inferior in my opinion).

I ordered this for my daughter who is playing more pc games as she gets very frustrated with keyboard sometimes jabbing at keys when they don’t respond. When the keyboard arrived it looked bigger than present keyboard and she had to rearrange desk a bit.The lights when on are very pretty but my daughter found the changing colours a bit distracting whilst playing games so set to just the one colour.you can turn lights off but that makes keys hard to see, though I guess if you were a long time user you would know were each key was? She found it quite hard to set up to begin with it seems it is capable of a lot more than she is currently doing although she has set a profile and short cut up andI’m sure she will suss rest out over time as needed. Now all negatives are over the reason I gave it 4stars .My daughter loves the keyboard she loves the sound the keys make?? And she is overjoyed at how responsive the keyboard is no more jabbing at keys and getting frustrated with game she hasn’t had a game crash or skip since using this keyboard ( skip might not be correct term I mean when kind of jumps and momentarily have last screen pic under present) I can’t give you technical feedback unfortunately but I can tell you if you enjoy or have a child who enjoys gaming then this keyboard is so responsive and quick it has other capabilities such as shortcuts to game and profiles which she is just discovering but even without them she would still think great because she is finally able to play games without getting annoyed with non responsive keys and the coloured lights look really funky she even likes changing colours just not when she playing game she has to concentrate on

This review is for the Trust Asta mechanical keyboard which I received for free to review. It is a solid keyboard which is quite heavy (1083gms) which means it won't move around on a desk. It doesn't have a wrist rest, hence only 4 stars. It's a reasonable size for a full size keyboard at 445x133x12mm (33mm when raised at the back). It is a pleasant matt black with the key letters at the top edge of each key. It comes with a key puller which is easy to use and works well, but as another reviewer noticed, the keys are not that hard to remove and you can pull them off easily enough with your fingers. It has 8 (it says 7 on the box) light sequences, but I could only get 6 settings, with one of them being off.Something to bear in mind is that if the lights are off, the key's letters are really hard to read, depending on the ambient light in the room. Personally, I like to have the lights to be on, solid, and not flickering or pulsing - but this is a personal choice. The keys are not too noisy, but you might consider using a set of o-rings to dampen the noise, such as the 200 Pieces Rubber Rings Clear Seal O-ring Rubber Keyboard Dampeners with Plastic Storage Box for MX Switch Keyboard and Mechanical Keyboard Keys from Sumind for £6 which I have used in the past. The keyboard works really well for gaming and for general typing, but the lack of a wrist rest for long hours use, for me, drops the star rating to 4.

I bought this as a work keyboard as I am a fan of mechanical keyboards from owning one at home for gaming. The red switches I believe are similar to the Cherry Red MX switches.I can confirm that they have a similar feeling - perhaps not quite as fast as the actuation force required seems to be slightly higher.Regardless, it is are a lot better than a non-mechanical keyboard and perfectly fine to use in a work environment.Depending on how the keys are pressed, this keyboard can be virtually silent if typed upon with just the right amount of force to register but not actually press down to the bottom of the travel on the key.Even going at full force it is not much louder than a normal keyboard.Certainly not that noticeable in the context of an open plan office.Build quality is very good. Very solid and belies the modest cost. The legs to raise the back of the keyboard higher are also sturdy and do not look like they will break/snap easily. The only quibble on this front would be that it doesn't seem to be rated for dust and liquid. Pulling up the space key and the A key shows that there are gaps which allow access to the underlying circuit board. Thus it would probably benefit from a dust cover when not in use and not having lunch / beverages being consumed over the top of it.A good addition would be a wrist rest.

I have used the keyboards and mice that has come with may PCs a lot, but every time I treat myself to a more ergonomic or fancy accessory I am not disappointed. The 'Trust GXT 840 Myra Gaming Keyboard' is more gamer based than ergonomic, but has enough features that will please anyone, but especially a gamer. The entire thing has a stark look to it with its jagged edges and of course the lights. Most of these features are not really to my taste, but for someone prone to crouching over a keyboard and playing games in a dark room it looks cool and actually has a function - you can see what you are doing.Other functional aspects include the ability to programme some of the buttons to allow sequencing. This means you can drop a move with one button press, rather than go through the rigmarole of tying it over and over again. If you are someone who plays the same game to a decent standard a lot, these program buttons are great. The entire thing is good value for price. There are faster, slicker models out there, but will come at a greater cost. The 'Trust GXT 840' offers an introduction to the world of gaming keyboards and if you find that they work well for you, then consider getting a higher model.

This is a super lightweight keyboard that is perfect for having on your lap when sat in front of the TV. I'm using it with our Steam Link and it's simply plug-and-play. As a web developer I wouldn't recommend it for everyday use due to the lack of ergonomics.I love the rainbow colours and the lightness is adjustable, but beware if you aren't a touch typist as the letters are a bit dim if the lighting is turned down. I can string a few fast sentences together when playing MMORPGs (keyboards where I can't type quickly infuriate me) and the keyboard isn't too loud when in use. I also tried playing Rocket League and feedback felt good. All locks work as expected and it feels comfortable under my hands and resting on my thighs, but the wire isn't super-long so you may want to consider this if you are gaming in-front of a TV.I wouldn't personally use this as an everyday keyboard - the design itself feels moreso geared towards gaming use. It's very flat and non-ergonomic; my wrists would quickly start hurting if I used this for serious and persistent typing. I much prefer curved keyboards for work, and this sort of keyboard for games. So for it's intended use and excellent value, 5 stars from me!

This is quite a heavy keyboard so if you happen to be using it on your lap for whatever reason be aware of that. However the weight is a typical requisite of a gaming keyboard because you want it to stay in place. It is not the flashiest in terms of the lighting effects (pun intended), the lights can be stable, breathing or cycling but only one of the 3 colours at a time, no rainbow effect. There are programmable macro keys if you have a regular sequence of keys you use (up to 65) and also plenty of multi media and control keys attached to the function keys as well. Over all it seems solid and robust and has that cool looking sort of eagle styling across the top edge but I think that's superfluousand makes it slightly larger than necessary (or as described in the downloaded extended leaflet "Ergonomic: False"). That coupled with not getting the rainbow effect which I'm sure could have been designed in with no extra cost makes it lose a star. The quick start leaflet included only gave web links where you can download the actual manual which does give all the info over 3 pages.

First of all, there's no escaping it - this is a really attractive piece of kit to add some glamour to your setup. The colourful LED backlighting, adjustable in brightness and sweeping across the spectrum behind the matt black keys, really looks the part, especially in a dark room. You can cycle the colours or have a gradated rainbow effect. The height of keyboard cool.It does not disappoint in functionality either, with the standard set of handy media keys. It's comfortable to type on too, and I have no problems hitting my usual keyboard speed with it. If I have any gripes, it's that the back legs are a little short, and I prefer my keyboard a little more raised / sloping. Easily remedied, though, so no big deal. Of course, it's completely plug-and-play, so just connect and go.For the price, it's good value icing on the cake for a cool PC installation. No-nonsense functionality but an attention-grabbing centrepiece for your desk!

This Keyboard looks great and I like the relatively larger size offering larger keys. It feels nice to type on and keys are responsive. I have been using a Mechanical Keyboard for some time now so the keys felt too soft. I like the extra macro keys and the handy game mode which allows disabling of Windows keys. The built quality is fairly good for a Gaming Keyboard well under £40 with a braided cable significantly reducing the chance of the cable being the point of failure. I am not sure how my small daughter managed to remove a Key, a key that has not been recovered. She hit the Keyboard and the key went flying. Mechanical Gaming Keyboards (from less well-known brands but in the same price range)that I have used have been able to withstand much more abuse with no loss of any keys. Under normal usage, you are unlikely to lose any keys as the Keyboard is fairly sturdy.

This is at a low price point compared to other products with a similar spec.It takes only seconds to plug in and use.Although it’s not a mechanical keyboard, the click of each key press still is pronounced, giving you the assurance that you’ve pressed it.The multimedia keys/shortcut are a good feature, making quick actions easy. It’s a pleasant change these days to have a dedicated full-size numeric keypad.I would like to praise it more, but it has a few drawbacks:-The key lighting isn’t even across the keyboard – this looks a bit naff in a darkened room-It has a huge footprint, so you need to measure the desk/work area that you’ll be using-The colours aren’t mappable,so that you’re stuck with the pre-set rainbow finish-The plastic isn’t the best quality, so that the keyboard feels a bit flimsy when you’re using it heavily

I was looking for a cheap Mechanical keyboard with red switches. This one covers all my needs. The keys are quite easy to press and they are not loud (perfect for a work environment). Also, I like the form factor as it is minimal and not "game looking" or distracting. I wish there was a mode with only white light coming out, for now i just have it off. I was not looking for a lit keyboard after all.Cons:- Keys are a fingerprint magnet (because they are matte?)- It is hard to see them when the lights are off- No software to change the light configuration.

This is a good wired LED keyboard. I find that the key travel is good, not too much and not too light. The buttons seem good, the layout good and I like the LED rainbow effect. As this is wired, just plug it into a spare USB socket. I like the media keys that can be easily accessed with 2 key presses, similar to my Mac.It may not be the best gaming keyboard out there, but for the price, it is a good choice. The only thing I do not like is that if you turn the LED down, you cannot see the keys, you need the LED on to see what key is what.

Love being able to change the background colour on this keyboard, its intense not the usual glowThe keys are nicely padded, not the usual klunkYou have full control over your music player, although you may want to firstly change the default music player as Groove Music sucksIt offers the usual gaming features of swapping the arrow keys with WASD and recording macrosNice detail gone into the design of the exterior of the keyboard, and the material is very solid long lastingThis is a serious keyboard

Well made gamer keyboard from Trust. Love the modern stylish design with UK layout. The coloured backlit mode is fantastic has 7 rainbow wave colour mode and makes it so much fun to use. Was really easy to set it up, i just had to plug it into my computer and it's ready to use. I am very pleased with this purchase. Featured with 11 direct access media keys and Anti-slip rubber feet underneath. The sound and feel of this keyboard transport me back to the 90s when I was first learning to use PCs. Love it

This keyboard is my best buy of this year for my job.I'm a photographer and now it's an integrated part of my workflow: I've made a profile to assign to the keyboard some shortcuts and macros for Lightroom and assogned it a specific led color, so is a second I can switch from the game settings (red keyboard) to the lightroom settings (blue keyboard).Basically now my keyboard is used only when I have to type something, and I have in front of me all the space to use my graphic tablet in total freedom.
