what can i say its extremely fast can open up a 1 gb rar file in 13 seconds can transfer a 8gb file in under two minutes the fastest transfer speed i got was briefly around 101 mb per sec before it settled on 93.6 mb per second it really quiet dont even notice its there mind you these values will in practice go down slightly because the disk is fresh and new and almost totally empty but wont go down by alot toshiba really know their stuff and its the cheapest price on amazon compared to anywhere else and best service too best solution for those archive folder storage problems just make sure its fits in your laptop before ordering it should fit in those panel opening acer laptops with the top

I bought this 1TB hard-drive to replace the original 160GB Toshiba drive in a 2009 13in 4GB-ram MacBook Pro. The HD was getting so full that the Mac was slowing down because a virtual PC and 1000's of photos had gradually reduced the free space to below 15GB.An Apple re-seller installed it, and it so far it's working fine. The MacBook and virtual PC are definitely back up to speed, and with plenty of space for expansion. I didn't feel that the difference in cost between 500GB and 1TB was big enough to have to compromise at 500GB.

Fitted this little beauty to my 17" Apple Macbook Pro machine and it is working perfectly, nice and quiet and seems fast. Partitioned it 160GB for OSX, 40GB for BootCamp (XP), and 800GB for all my video files (as I mainly use the Macbook Pro for video editing). It's lovely to have plenty of space now to store the video clips while I get round to editing the clips and finishing the videos to share. There were no problems with space, the Macbook accommodates the 12.5mm height of this drive easily.

I bought this for my old-ish black Macbook (plastic body one). Very easy to fit yourself, simply remove the battery and the metal cover underneath, pull out the old hard drive, and push the new one into place. It was quite snug fit, as it is a couple of mm thicker than the old hard drive. Once in, it worked straight away, and once my backup was restored to the new hard drive, I now have hundreds of extra GB to use.Brilliant stuff.

i bought this at a very good price .however i had to get the experts to put my operating system on it for me ..touch wood as yet is working fine ..would recommend this to anyone with a laptop as you always need more space for movies and music etc..i am just waiting for a 5 tb plus size one..

Purchased item to store video files to play on d link boxee. This it does with ease being capacious and fast. Fitted into a starlink external enclosure which is a good match because it is 12.5 mm high and wont fit into a standard enclosure.Would highly recommend.
