I'm going to start this review by saying that I bought the original Perfect Prep machine almost four years ago for my first daughter. After three weeks of making and warming/cooling bottles we decided to take the plunge and got my husbands parents to bring it in their luggage to our home abroad at the time. We never looked back. I recommended it to every new parent that I encountered who was bottle feeding. I remember when we came home for the summer and couldn't bring it back with us, pining for it! Making bottles the old fashioned way was so stressful! The only thing that ever really bothered me about the original machine was how loud that bleeping was during the hours of sleepiness and also, how I had to google for videos on how to clean and descale the machine when needed. So, despite our original machine still being in perfect condition, I was still really quite keen to see if Tommee Tippee had infant improved upon any of these things... After two weeks with the Day and Night, I can safely say that they have! Setting up the machine is really rather simple. All you need to do is switch it on and the screen talks you through everything you need to do. Please make sure you read the instructions still, as it tells you how to prepare the filter for installation. Set-up, if I remember rightly takes less than 15/20 minutes. All you need is boiling water and a container to put under the machine as it passes through. The machine alerts you to drain the cleaning water from the container at regular intervals so you don't have to find a massive container to collect all the water as with the older version. Another little tweak, but a nice one nonetheless. And, as I mentioned to you before, no need to search the internet for instructions as the screen on the machine guides you through the process all the way. My youngest daughter has been sleeping through the night so I've not actually had chance to use the machine in the dark yet, with it being summer. But, I can see the gentle lighting of both the water tank and the bottle stand would be very useful and kind to tired eyes at 4am. Making a bottle is very simple and extremely quick. Simply turn the machine on and select the size of feed you want to prepare. Then, add your formula to the bottle and place on the stand. The machine will add a hot shot of water to the formula. After this, put a lid on your bottle and shake well. Remove the lid and then place back on the stand and follow the instructions. I have to say, this is the only negative I have about the product. There are more button presses required for this machine to make a bottle than the previous model. I've more or less got used to how many times I need to press the OK button for each stage of the bottle preparation process, but I was just used to two simple clicks with the previous machine. This one requires around 5 or 6 altogether. Again, not a big thing and if this is your first experience of a Perfect Prep machine, you won't know the difference. The upside to the machine guiding you through every step at each feed is that anyone can prep a bottle for you. It is most definitely idiot proof! Due to the machine being able to make bottles at the right temperature within a matter of minutes, it works wonders for the newborn stage when feeding on demand is necessary. The smallest size bottle you can make is 4oz, so there is some wastage in the beginning. But this is definitely outweighed by the incredible convenience of the machine. On the older version of the machine, a little light would come on if you needed to top up the tank for the next feed. Now, when you've got a hungry and screaming baby on your hands you don't always manage to fill the tank once you've made a bottle in preparation for the next. However, once baby is fed and settled and you pop into the kitchen to make yourself that cup of tea in that rare moment of peace, that little light would catch your eye and you'd remember to top up the machine. Unfortunately, the new machine does not have a light that remains on. The screen turns red when it needs topping up before it switches itself off and it will be red when you turn it back on for the next feed. The water takes time to pass through the filter, so if you've forgotten to top it up in between feeds, you may have to endure a screaming baby for another few minutes. Again, not a major issue, but something that has caught me out a couple of times now. Try to get in the habit of keeping your machine topped up every time you use it, if possible. Going through the settings of the machine allows you to adjust the volume of the bleeps. I've just got mine set on low at the moment. I don't really know why you would need to have it on loud, but each to their own, I suppose. It's certainly nice to have the option. Also in the settings menu are the various functions you will need to perform to maintain your machine. Having run the cleaning cycle I can say that these will all be easy to use with on screen instructions at every step for each process such as descaling. (Get some distilled white vinegar in for when it needs descaling.)All in all, I would absolutely tell anyone who was formula feeding a baby to get one of these machines. It is an absolute sanity-saver. My old machine is still going strong after four years, and after being shipped 3,500 miles across the world and back. I'll be keeping it at my parents' house for easy bottle making whilst I'm there. If that machine is still as good as new, I have high hopes that this one will keep me going for another couple of years with my youngest. If you're on the fence about buying on of these, please jump off and just get one! You will wonder how you ever lived without one! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I used the ‘Original Perfect Prep Machine’ for my first born 4 years ago and it was an absolute time saver, even my Mum who is a technophobe and preferred the kettle and hot water method was blown away by the convenience of the prep machine. I couldn’t fault the ‘Original Perfect Prep Machine’ and as my baby was a big feeder, very demanding and fed very frequently, it made my life so much easier and less of a faff when it came to getting a bottle ready for him.Now 4 years later I have my second child and of course recycled my trusty Original Perfect Prep Machine, until the release of the new and revised ‘Perfect Prep Day & Night.’ I am overjoyed to have been given the opportunity to try andtest this revised model and as I am able to compare it to the previous model I feel I can give an honest comparison and review.First of all it’s a lot sleeker and more compact which is pleasing to the eye, updated features include a digital display screen which gives an on screen step by step and allows you to navigate through menus, a soft glow light and the option to increase or decrease the sound of the beeping or even turn it off (this is one of my favourite features.)To start with the digital display, this revised feature is perfect for dazed and confused moments as each stage of the bottle making process is prompted on the digital display. No paper instructions are required as it tells you everything on screen. It also begins with an on screen step by step guide when initially setting up your machine. The screen alerts when the water tank requires filling, filter changing etc. Each time you go through the process of preparing a bottle it prompts on screen what step it requires you to do and it will ask you to confirm that you have acknowledged and fulfilled that step by pressing the confirmation key. This keeps both you and the machine in sync to make sure the bottle is being prepared correctly and no stage has been missed. This has been perfect for when I have got distracted by the boys or even when I have had friends or family over to help, I haven’t had to explain how to make a bottle as they have been able to follow the on screen instructions. The soft glow light is perfect for use on an evening when you’re trying to keep light to a minimum whilst still trying to see what you are doing. Initially when my baby was feeding through the night I would take the machine up to my bedroom and then when baby woke I would make a bottle and feed with minimum fuss which meant we could feed quickly, with little distraction and get back to bed, this is also where the volume setting is perfect update. With my first born the prep machine beeping was perfect for during the day because it would alert me if I got distracted, however in the still of the night when you’re trying to soothe and feed a baby and feed with minimum fuss the sound of the beeping used to go right through me, which is not ideal when you are trying to keep as calm and quite for minimum distraction. Now during the day I can keep the beeping on at which ever volume level is best for me and then on an evening I can turn it right down or even turn it off.I’ve had no major problems with the ‘Original Perfect Prep Machine’ but after having the opportunity to try the new ‘Perfect Prep Day & Night’ I can honestly say that Tommee Tippee have excelled themselves in the new and improved updates to the prep machine. I purchased this product a month ago as had introduced bottles to my then 4 month old little girl! I ca n honestly say that I am so glad I did! She was my third and I remembered with my other two boys that nighttime bottle feeds were the worst As they took so long to prepare, I was like a zombie and I didn’t want that to happen this time around.Setting up the machine was easy, I did it as soon as it arrived which was mid morning, it took about 30/45 mins for it all to be set up and the water filtered and ready to use! Her first bottle was at 9pm on the dot as usually! I popped the formula into the bottle pressed the option I wanted for size of bottle (which is so easy to follow and the digital screen is so clear)put the bottle on the little shelf and pressed ok, 2 minutes later I had a bottle at perfect temperature for my little one to enjoy! And she certainly enjoyed it and wolfed it down. Her next bottle was at 2am again on the dot.. I headed downstairs as quiet as I could so not to disturb her too much. Turned the prep machine on and it was ready to go! I loved how their was an option for me to turn the sound and brightness down because at 2am in the morning the last thing you want is a bright light staring at you and a loud noise making bottles. This wasn’t the case though, it was super quiet! 2 mins later I had a perfect bottle for her and again my little one wolfed it down. The last few weeks have been so much easier since buying the perfect prep machine!! I now don’t dread the night feeds because they are so quick now. Before I was waiting for them to cool down and making my little one wait and cry for longer but now she only needs to wait 2 minutes or so and she has a perfect bottle! It has also meant my husband can be more helpful and hands on, he has started doing some nighttime feeds at the weekends but only because of the prep machine! Mainly because he is very impatient and he doesn’t have to wait long for the bottles to make etc. So bonus all around for us here! Would highly recommend buying this if you are bottle feeding because it really is a huge life changer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I honestly couldn’t be happier with the perfect prep day and night machine. I had the old version of the perfect prep machine previously which I loved but Tommee Tippee have definitely listened to parents comments and improved on it no end! I was a little sceptical at first as the first machine i got wasn’t working but my replacement worked like a dream. It was very simple to set up, as it gave clear, easy step by step instructions. It didn’t take long before it was ready to use.I have two children a one and a half year old who has a bottle a day and a 7 month old who is mainly breast fed but does have bottles now too. It was very simple to change between the oz amount needed for both children when making their bottles up.It was also extremely quick. As my youngest is mainly breast fed, when it comes down to him having a bottle he hates waiting! If I made a bottle the traditional way he would have a huge meltdown in the time it took to get a bottle ready and then be too upset to take it. However with the perfect prep day and night it’s ready in an instant at the right temperature meaning he’s kept very happy. The soft light and sounds have made a huge difference to old old version as it makes it so much better to use at night without waking the whole house up. It’s also great for grandparents as it talks them through step by step what to do which means I’m not worried about any mishaps when leaving them to make a bottle. I honestly feel anyone could use it. The only niggle I have with it is I feel like I am pressing a button 101 times before a bottle is made. I feel some of the steps could have been added together to make this a little more user friendly. I would highly recommend the perfect prep day and night machine. it’s defunitely a must have from me and a great buy!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This machine will change your life. When you are awoken at 3AM to make a feed, within 3 minutes you will have a freshly made bottle in your hand ready to give to baby, getting you back to sleep as soon as possible - which will help in the initial sleep deprived days. No more boiling the kettle, cooling the kettle, testing the temperature - then cooling again. Perfect temperature every time. The only drawback I currently see is that the smallest feed that you can make is 120ml (4oz) which initially results in a lot of wastage of formula. But within 2 weeks our baby was taking at least that amount at every feed. So this is only a short term issue.Straight away when I got the machine I changed it from oz to ml.Just a personal preference as I work better with that unit. But this was very easy to do by just holding down the right hand arrow and following the on screen instructions. The machines LCD display walks you through everything with step by step instructions from simply making the feed up, to changing the water filter and emptying the water. So no chance of making a mistake if you are a little groggy when you are awoken! The filters are also easily available from supermarkets just in case you're caught short! The night light feature is great, last thing you need when half asleep is bright light. The light emitted from the machine is perfect for being able to see what you are doing. Some people have said about the filters becoming mouldy, all I can day about this is if your not using the machine regularly, Make sure that it is stored empty, and when prompted - make sure you change the filter ASAP.My advice - make sure you always have sterilized bottles ready for when you have to make a feed and it will literally be:Wake, Make, Feed, Sleep. Simple!

We weighed this product up for almost 9 months before deciding to eventually go for it - I’m really glad we did, out of everything we bought prior to arrival this is by far the best and most used! For those wondering how it works - you select the serving size and add the appropriate amount formula to the bottle, the machine runs a “hot shot” of water at 70 degrees to help it dissolve, you shake the bottle and it tops up the remainder with cold filtered water to get the right temp.We have the product set up in our Baby’s nursery (although the instructions advise against this) for a quick and easy night time feed, as soon as she begins to stir you can flick the machine on and have a perfect bottle made up in less than a minute.Real life saver, not entirely sure we’d be able to cope without it!We use Aptamil Comfort milk and have never had trouble dissolving the formula. Filter is easy enough to prime and cleaning cycle is straight forward.Smallest serving size is 120ml which is of course too big for a newborn, so we just poured 60ml away. Yes this wastes a scoop of formula and some water but it’s a fair trade off for less messing around. I believe some people split it into two bottles. The night time version is a must because you can silence the “beeps” that sound every time a button is pressed. It also lights up so you don’t need to put the bedroom light on. Seems like a silly thing to pay extra for but it’s well worth it to preserve both peace and your sanity at 3am.Finally the machine does “pour long” so the 120ml setting can end up 135ml. I go off the measurements on the bottle and stop it when it reaches its intended serving size. Never had a problem with the bottle being too hot / cold / Dodgy.

I’ve always been impressed with the Tommee Tippee prep machine so thought I’d give the latest version a go. I have not been disappointed! The machine comes beautifully packaged in a perfect sized box with super simple instructions which cover how to set up the machine, use the machine and maintain it. All aspects of use are made even easier thanks to the new digital display which provides prompts and instructions for every step. The new design is sleek and stylish and fits in well with my other kitchen appliances. Once I had set the machine up I was able to customise it to my needs thanks to the settings option this included changing the volume of the buttons and whether I wanted to display bottle making in ml or oz.Making a bottle seems a lot quieter and is made easier (especially at night)thanks to the new lit tank and filling area. You can see clearly how much water is left in the tank! Also when making a bottle is explains each step on the display which means I no longer have to try and explain how to use the machine to visitors or my parents! The unique selling point is still the speed at which the bottles are prepared. I can quickly satisfy my sons hunger and at night this is a huge bonus.Overall I’m so happy with the Tommee Tippee prep machine I highly recommend it to other mums out there. It really reduces the stress of feeding time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I was sent this product to review as a product tester and although the design of the new machine has some great features, I am not sure I would purchase the new product compared to the old version given the price difference. I purchased the old machine when it was on offer before my baby was born and he is now 5 months old. Firstly the sound feature is great and does mean that you are not waking everyone up in the middle of the night and the light feature is a good addition. However the new step by step instruction is quite annoying as once you know what you are doing there is no need to go through the whole process each time. The old machine you pressed the button twice and away you go.I think there should be an easy option and then the step by step so you can choose. The other issue is that is doesn’t seem to mix the powder and water as well as the old machine so you do need to give it a good shake once it’s ready to serve. The product is slightly smaller and has a better design to it. The bottles are made up to the correct measurements and the machine does save so much time compared to boiling the water each time. I wouldn’t hesitate purchasing the machine but I believe the old one is better.I know this review is long but when I purchase products I do like to know all the details before making a decision. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent this product to review as a product tester and although the design of the new machine has some great features, I am not sure I would purchase the new product compared to the old version given the price difference. The old machine you pressed the button twice and away you go. My midwife discouraged the use of this pre-machine for feeding my baby as she said some babies developed tummy issues after using. As a result of this, I tried to manually making the formula and stopped using it for a while. However, it didn’t work well with a hungry screaming baby. Why? I will tell you now. To make sure your water is hot enough to kill the bacteria, but not the nutrition in the formula, the water temperature needs to be approx 70 degree, so you need to boil the water, leave it at room temperature for around 30 mins to coolIt to 70 degree, then use it for making formula, though this is not the temperature suitable for drinking,so you need to mix with cold boiled water again to get the right temperature with a lot of guessing in between. The whole process take at around 40 mins just to make the milk formula. If your baby take the milk at exact time intervals, eg 3 hours apart, then I guess you can time it and make it work with a lot of efforts and sleep deprivation. But if your baby like mine, who has a less regular feeding times, then you would hear him/her screaming as soon as they feel hungry.I reverted back to using this pre-machine, and feeding is now a lot easier with this gadget, but to prevent the tummy issues my midwife mentioned, I used boiled cold water and also change the filter and give it a deep clean inside and out every month.
